Thank you for joining me for Your Space.

This is a collection of mini meditations that I have lovingly prepared for you.

I am so excited to offer you this one,

Brought to you by me,

Sami,

For Temple Yoga Perth.

I hope this brings your mind,

Your body,

Your soul and your spirit back together again into alignment,

In harmony.

Because that is true happiness.

I think one thing that we can all agree on is that nothing is for certain.

Especially through this year that has been absolutely extraordinary again.

This life,

It is a mystery.

What we do know is what feels good and what feels right and what feels in alignment for ourselves.

What we can do is live life and be here now.

To be where our feet are.

In this present moment,

We can hope for the future,

We can have intentions and we can have goals.

But what we must do is learn to live and embrace here now.

What feels good and right to us is it being guided by your heart and not just living in your head.

Enjoying the ocean and the beach,

The water,

The sunshine on your skin.

I think that's why in movies we celebrate and get behind the characters that are able to break free,

That are able to be true,

To connect with their heart,

To dive in,

To truly live in the present and to let go of fear and worry.

What we love,

What we give our attention to is what we give life to.

It is so important to be aware of what we focus on.

Sometimes we zoom in on an experience,

A situation,

A thought,

An emotion or even if we fixate on a goal.

Sometimes we are so close and so critical and so overwhelmed with this that it completely changes our experience of life.

We can't see all the other options.

We can't see some of the amazing growth.

We can't see the lessons that we've been learning.

We can't see the people that are there to hold us and support us and love us.

So what we give attention to we give life to.

And this is why reflection,

Particularly at this time of year,

Is so powerful and so important.

Throughout the year we live in this mystery of life and we live in that constant state of flux,

Of trying to make sense of all of it.

What we can miss though is to hold that present moment,

The life that is happening and unfolding in front of us and treating it as precious.

Treating it as the beautiful,

Amazing tapestry and masterpiece that lies before us.

So instead of zooming in on one thing,

Stepping back and having a look at the big picture,

Deciding what small steps we want to take forward with us into the new year.

What lessons we've learned.

The habits that we want to set.

Or just realizing that your life,

Your time is precious.

And maybe creating rituals around those things that are priorities for you.

Like how you want to start your day.

Having a morning ritual.

Choosing how you spend your focus,

Your time,

Your energy from that waking moment.

Maybe it's just the first five minutes or ten or half an hour that you have.

But how powerful is that when you are present,

You choose.

And you create that sacred moment for yourself.

So if you are zoomed in or you're stuck in negative thoughts,

I just want to encourage you to bring your focus on connecting to the earth.

On being present here and now.

Loosen your grip of those thoughts and that cycle or the things that you're zoomed in on in your mind.

Feel your feet on the earth.

Feel the ground holding you up.

I know that you're able to grow and learn and take steps and practice and ask for help.

So this reflection is to help you break free of those thoughts.

To choose what you want to take with you into the new year.

Maybe you're still unsure of your purpose.

Maybe you want to be of service but you just don't know how.

I'm here to remind you that your higher self,

Your intuition,

That well of love and wisdom is within you and is there and is waiting for you.

So please spend some time exploring,

Leading yourself,

Guiding yourself.

Taking a look at what brings you joy.

What makes you happy.

What gives you energy.

Where you see where your passion lies and it meets where you can be in service to others.

You discover your purpose.

So let's reflect.

Learn by turning inwards,

By finding some stillness.

Just feel your feet in contact with the floor.

Feel the safety of the ground holding you up and feel your spine growing tall,

Long.

Not rigid but just reaching up.

Feel your shoulders falling away from your ears as you exhale.

And the beautiful peace that comes over your face as your eyelids close,

Your cheeks soften.

Your lips are gentle and parted.

And even the tongue resting in your mouth is relaxed and heavy.

As you breathe in through your nose,

You observe the feeling of the air rushing in.

You notice how it is cool when you breathe in and warm when you breathe out.

Just observe.

Let's take some full conscious breaths.

Breathing in through your nose now for four,

Three,

Two,

One.

And out through your nose for four,

Three,

Two,

One.

In for three,

Two,

One.

And out.

One more round.

Letting your belly soften and round,

Feeling your ribs moving and expanding as you exhale your diaphragm,

Rising and pushing the air out.

Let your breath free your mind.

Let it lift you out of any heaviness,

Any thought that was weighing you down.

Let your breath bring you your freedom.

So to bring our mind to focusing on in our life what is right,

What is good,

And what is aligned for you,

Let's look at these questions.

You may like to revisit this meditation when you have space to open your journal and just write,

Just free flow your thoughts.

The first question,

What made you happy this year?

What was it that where you felt the happiest?

Who were you with?

What were you doing?

What had happened?

What was the best part of this year?

Equally as important to reflect on is what made you unhappy.

What had happened?

Who were you with?

How did you feel in your body?

Maybe an easier way of reflecting on that is thinking about what took your energy away.

What zapped you?

What made you feel depleted,

Exhausted?

Reflecting on these things is so important and beautiful.

Life has so much to offer you and show you.

This is where you can find the lessons,

The beauty,

Or what you don't want to take with you moving forward.

Lastly,

I want you to think about what succeeded this year.

Where were those moments where you just kicked goals?

You just felt on fire.

Where you were just so proud of yourself.

Before we move on,

Just express some gratitude for those lessons that you have plucked,

You've picked,

And you're able to carry with you.

Say thank you to the intuition,

The wisdom that is already inside of you.

And know that you are able to lift and shift yourself from zooming in or feeling overwhelmed or weighed down by heaviness or thoughts.

By focusing on your breath.

Let your breath lift you out of the heaviness to find your freedom.

So this reflection is just a starting point.

And I would really like to invite you to join me for the next four weeks before mini meditation sessions that will help us go beyond just intention for this year.

Will help us have a look at where we're starting from,

Launching from a healthy place,

Making sure that we can support and nourish those things that we want to set for this year.

And also if we're struggling to find clarity or connect with our intuition,

This will help you connect within to that wisdom to find that peace and stillness so clarity can arise.

I hope that you will join me.

So as we close,

I'd like you just to close by turning your palms up by being in an open stance towards yourself.

To connect with yourself to keep your belly soft your shoulders away from your ears to take off those burdens.

Keep the edges of your face soft and gentle and just focus on that air breathing in and out through your nose.

You may like to place your hand on your heart and just breathe into your heart,

Connecting your mind,

Your heart,

Your spirit.

Knowing that where you place your energy is where you give your life.

You may like to repeat this affirmation in your mind or out aloud.

I allow myself to be truly here,

To be at home right now in my life,

In my body.

I release any grief of not being where I want to be right now.

I release grief of not belonging,

Not feeling home in my own skin.

I choose to make the perfect home.

Take one more full breath into your heart and I hope that this will launch you to continue to go beyond just intentions for this year.

That you can really truly love the person that you are becoming.

Thank you for spending this time with me.

It's a privilege for me to be able to guide you.

Know that I am taking these steps with you and that I see the light in you because it's also the same light that's within me and that's what unifies us and makes us one.
