Wherever you are when you're listening to this meditation,
I just want you to focus on your breath.
And don't try to do this perfectly.
Maybe your breath is one count in and one count out.
Maybe your goal for this meditation is just to extend your breath to three counts in and three counts out.
Gently inviting your body to calm down,
To feel safe,
To access a moment of relaxation.
This might be your only moment to yourself today.
So give into it.
Give into it fully and completely because you're worthy of this.
Breathing in for three counts and breathing out for three counts.
You are not a bad mom.
Even though sometimes we feel that we are.
Sometimes the morning is overwhelming and we can't catch ourselves for the rest of the day.
But we can always come back here to this breath,
To this moment where we honor ourselves and we honor that this is hard and challenging and overwhelming.
Keep breathing,
Keep coming back to that place inside you that is quiet,
That is still,
That is certain.
It's okay that they watched more screens today than usual.
It's okay that you heated up chicken strips for their lunch.
And it's okay that you'll probably doordash pizza tonight.
It's okay all of those feelings that you feel,
Disappointed,
Tired,
Alone,
Exhausted.
You're allowed to be annoyed.
You are allowed to feel the full range of human emotions.
It's why we're here.
It's what we were created to do.
All of these emotions are here to be felt and it's okay to be still.
It's okay to honor them and to feel them.
You're allowed to be disappointed.
You're allowed to be frustrated at how the day went or how the day is going.
It's only because you know you can do better and you will.
But first give yourself a minute to breathe.
Give yourself a minute to acknowledge that this feels hard in this moment today.
Give yourself a moment to watch Netflix.
It's okay,
They'll be okay.
It's been a hell of a year.
Keep breathing,
Keep coming home,
Keep giving to yourself even if all you can give yourself is this breath in this moment.
It's okay,
They'll be okay.
Think of all the love that you give them,
The clean clothes that they're wearing,
The safety that they feel in their hearts because you are their mother.
It will be okay.
You are doing it right.
You are doing it right.
Breathing in for three counts and breathing out.
If you had your eyes closed for this,
You can open up your eyes.
This is a new start to the day.
This is a new moment you're creating.
You can go back into your day knowing that you filled up your tank just a little bit,
That you gave to yourself just a little bit,
That you honored yourself just a little bit.
It'll be okay.
You are doing it right.
