A warm welcome to you.
My name is Fleur Chambers and as always it's my pleasure to be here with you today.
In an increasingly loud external world where everyone and everything seems to be vying for our attention,
We need to cultivate our capacity for discernment.
Being intentional about how you spend your time and energy,
About what aspects of life you invest in and allow to flourish and what aspects you let go will allow you to feel more presence,
Peace and purpose.
So please,
Settling in,
Eyes gently closing if it pleases you today.
And beginning with three mindful breaths.
Allowing these breaths to feel ceremonious.
A real arriving into the sacredness of your practice.
And as your breath returns to its natural rhythm,
Just noticing how present you can be for the entire cycle of breath.
The inhale,
The pause at the top,
The exhale and the pause at the bottom.
Can you be with each aspect of your breath with the same level of presence and ease?
Simply noticing the transitions.
Smoothing out the edges.
This focus on your breath is calming your nervous system,
Recalibrating you at a cellular level.
Can you allow this to feel good?
Awareness moving to the edges of your body now as you notice how your entire body expands on the inhale,
How your entire body contracts on the exhale.
Your whole body breathes.
Sensing into how on the inhale you take up more space in your environment and on the exhale you take up less space.
And opening into the idea that each day you get to choose where you take up more space.
You get to choose which activities,
Conversations and interactions you'll focus on.
And equally you get to choose where you'll take up less space.
Which activities,
Conversations and relationships you'll move away from.
And allowing your breath and the way your body so naturally receives each breath to be your teacher.
To remind you of your naturally discerning nature.
Guiding you to see what in your life you want to expand into and what you want to move away from.
And asking yourself in this moment,
If I truly believed in my discerning nature,
What habits or activities would I let go?
No right or wrong,
Trusting whatever emerges.
Curiosity deepening as you ask yourself what conversations would I no longer get hooked into?
And these be conversations with others or with yourself.
And with the aid of your out breath really cultivating this sense of letting go.
With each out breath letting go of the habits,
Activities and conversations both external and internal that don't align with this more discerning you.
Really opening to any sense of relief or spaciousness that's being created through this act of letting go.
Can you feel it in your body?
This softening,
This sense of letting go.
Can you feel it in your heart?
Awareness landing on your in breath now.
Really feeling into the way your chest expands in all directions as you breathe.
Front body,
Back body,
Side body,
All expanding in perfect timing to receive fresh oxygen,
Fresh life force.
And allowing this physical expansion to be an invitation to expand your awareness and your perspective,
To expand what is possible for you.
As you ask yourself if I truly believed my time was precious and to be valued,
What would I do more of?
Trusting what first comes to mind and heart.
Body deepening as you ask yourself what would I put off no longer?
What would I begin today?
Breathing in the wisdom of this moment.
Really creating this image of you moving through your days in more discerning ways in your minds eye now.
Realising the details big and small.
And knowing that as you do this and as you trust in your own rising sense of discernment,
You are creating new neural pathways.
You are also whispering to the universe that you are ready to live in more discerning ways.
If meditation is a gift,
What gift has this practice offered you today?
Finding this gift deep into your heart,
Planting it like a seed.
Realising your awareness to land on the natural ebb and flow of your breath.
Offering your breath a gentle smile.
Perhaps even whispering thank you for teaching you how to invite in and let go so that you may live with more presence,
Peace and purpose.
Opening your eyes,
Ready to move through your days with a quiet sense of discernment.
