Welcome to the Mystic Moon School,
An online community and living workshop for mindfulness and magic.
Through guided wellness and ritual practices,
I want to help you create a life that feels aligned,
Purposeful,
And magical.
I'm Sierra,
Your local mystic and resident Moon Witch,
And I can't wait to make some magic together.
Hello you guys,
And welcome to February in the Mystic Moon School.
I'm so excited to be doing this for another month with you guys as this Moon School is steadily taking off.
We're welcoming some new faces in here every week and I'm super excited to have you in this space.
So this month in the Moon School we're talking all about releasing and awakening.
So in the January content we were honoring sort of this transition from one year to the next.
We reflected on 2019 and asked ourselves sort of what core desired feelings we wanted to embody.
And so now we're going to begin to sort of awaken from this dormant energy of the wintertime and really take action.
It's this sort of out with the old,
In with the new,
Spring cleaning energy both physically and spiritually and emotionally as we prepare this mind-body spirit for receiving.
So as these creative forces of nature are waking up,
We're clearing out some space in the body and in our energy field.
And through that we're telling the universe that we're ready for growth and to welcome in the new.
So I'd like to welcome you to join us in this meditation,
This releasing meditation here.
It'll be about 10 minutes long or so,
Just get yourself into whatever position is comfortable for you.
And then from your comfortable seated position allow yourself to maybe fidget and wiggle around a little bit.
You can release your neck,
Shaking it around,
Yes,
No,
Maybe shrugging your shoulders around,
Taking a few clearing breaths to eventually settle into some stillness.
And keep your gaze soft,
Your eyes open here for the beginning.
In yoga we're taught that this soft gaze or drishti right off the tip of your nose is ideal.
But just see if you can soften your gaze to something,
Some place in front of you that's not moving.
Just so that you can begin to bring your awareness into your breath.
Taking a full big belly breath in,
Gently sighing it out.
Two more just like that,
Deep breath in,
Letting it go.
And one more.
And continuing to let your awareness drift deeper into your breath here.
Maybe you soften the muscles around the edges of your forehead and along your jaw.
Feeling free to gently bring your eyes to a close when you feel ready.
Continuing to feel your inhales deep in the base of your belly.
And as you exhale,
Drawing your belly button back towards your spine,
Expelling all of the stagnant air.
Continuing like this for just a few more rounds,
Settling in,
Seeing if maybe we can slow down the thoughts just a little bit.
And maybe noticing here in your body through your breath where you might be holding some tension.
Maybe in your low back,
Behind your shoulders,
Along your jaw,
Wherever it is,
Take a full big deep breath in.
Bring your awareness into that area of your body and as you exhale,
See if you can soften and release that space for just a breath.
Allowing your body to be heavy,
Your heart to be light,
Your awareness to be soft and open.
Letting the thoughts gently come and go here in the beginning.
I'd like you to worry less here about trying to withhold or stop your thoughts.
More on just noticing them as they come up.
In meditation,
We try to resist the urge to run away or get carried away by any of your thoughts.
We just let them be,
Let them come.
Then we also see if we can let them go as easily as they come.
So imagining that your awareness,
This screen of your mind is a big,
Vast,
Open blue sky and your thoughts are just like clouds passing by on the sky of your mind.
We're going to shift your awareness slightly here into your heart space.
So imagining with a breath in that there is a plumb line that could drop down through your nostrils and find the base of your heart right in the center of your chest.
Feel that connection to your heart through your breath.
And as you breathe in,
Feel that heart space expand with your breath.
Maybe imagining the warming light of the spring sunshine shining into every corner,
Every edge of your heart here.
We're going to take that open,
Compassionate listening through your breath,
Through your body and bring it into your heart here.
So as we ask ourselves some of these questions,
I invite you to be open and just listen here.
Listen to the energies that your heart is holding.
Maybe listen to the emotional or sometimes the physical reactions in your body.
But no matter what comes up for us,
We always want to hold the seat of the witness,
Of the listener,
Holding ourselves with compassion,
With presence and with love.
Take just a few more big full breaths into your heart space here.
Noticing what it feels like.
Asking yourself here now,
What is holding you back from living a fully embodied life that you love?
Maybe it's fear,
Judgment,
Anger.
Using your breath with that big open heart,
Just feel whatever responses come up in you here.
What is holding you back from living a fully embodied life that you love?
How can you trace a root to any of these obstacles?
When did you start noticing it manifest in your life?
Again,
Just seeing whatever comes up here.
Sometimes some really powerful,
Really deep emotions can be unearthed when we tune inwards like this.
It's okay.
You are okay.
You are held.
You are loved.
By finding the root helps give us a greater awareness.
And helps us overcome our obstacles and our fears.
Can you find a root for this obstacle that you're facing in your life?
Is it something that you can change?
And if it's not,
Can you change your outlook on it?
Invoking all the compassion,
All the love that you can muster through your breath.
Send it deep into your heart.
And sigh out,
Release anything you need to.
One more just like that big full breath in.
Let it go.
Invoking compassion.
Invoking love.
Invoking grace.
Thanking yourself for doing this work.
Saying to yourself now with conviction,
Feeling these words reverberate into your heart.
I am willing to see things differently.
I am willing to let go of what no longer serves me.
I am willing to embody my fullest self.
Take three more breaths here.
Gently letting your awareness come back into your body.
Into your physical surroundings.
Taking your time to bring some gentle wiggles and shakes back into your body.
Softly letting your eyes open when you feel ready.
I thank you guys so much for being here,
For doing this work for yourselves.
