In this grounding meditation session for empaths and intuitives, we'll do some deep breathing, relaxation, release any energy that has been absorbed that isn't serving us, and practice grounding ourselves in the energy field within and around the body. Finally, we'll practice flexing the energy field as a choice, so we can excel at being contained within our own energy or choosing to open it up when we want to.

Hey,

I'm Cyrus.

Welcome to this meditation for empaths,

Strengthening your own energy field and grounding yourself emotionally.

Begin by setting up your environment in a comfortable,

Quiet way,

Setting any devices on Do Not Disturb,

And sitting in a relaxed but alert position with your eyes closed.

We'll begin with a short breath hold exercise to ground ourselves in the body,

Breathing gently in through the nose,

Filling up the diaphragm,

Holding the breath for a couple moments,

And feeling your body as you hold.

Releasing gently out through the mouth,

Just two more like that,

Breathing in gently but deeply in through the nose,

Holding at the top,

Feeling the energy in the body as you hold,

And releasing stress and tension out through the mouth.

The final breath now,

Breathing deeply in through the nose,

Filling up the whole body with the breath,

Holding at the top and feeling your body's energy as you hold,

And slowly releasing out through the mouth.

And now noticing the sounds in the room around you.

And now releasing any tension in the face or jaw,

Softening the little muscles around the eyes,

Staying awake and alert as we relax the different parts of the body,

The neck and shoulders,

Softening slightly.

The chest and stomach opening and releasing as the breath drops down effortlessly.

The pelvic floor dropping into the support,

The back muscles releasing any tension,

The legs and feet unclenching and softening into the support,

The arms and hands going on standby,

Simply relaxing.

And with the mind alert and the body relaxed,

Begin by feeling and sensing the space around you.

Now you might notice this comes naturally as an empath since there tends to be a focus on what's outside of ourselves and our own energy field.

So let's take a moment to acknowledge anything that we've picked up from outside of ourselves that doesn't belong to us,

Any emotions,

Stories,

Sensations that have us feeling scattered or fragmented,

Simply acknowledging that for a moment.

And if any of this energy wants to be felt within the body and you feel ready and safe to allow it to pass through and release,

Just notice how it feels.

Remember that you're safe and you're in control.

You're choosing to allow this energy to pass through so that you can create more space for your own energy.

Ignoring the thoughts and focusing on the energy in the body,

Allowing it to flow as it does without trying to change it or escape it.

And notice that as we surrender to it,

It may be starting to flow and lift and evaporate.

And if it does,

Just welcome in the sense of lightness and release of pressure that comes from taking on that energy and holding it as our own.

And if any of that energy that doesn't belong to us is still lingering within the body,

That's totally okay.

As we stay in the rhythm of the session,

It will tend to dissipate and release in its own time.

So now that perhaps some release has occurred,

Just taking a moment to forgive ourselves for taking on that energy,

It tends to be a habit that happens reflexively.

So just taking this moment to fully forgive ourselves for taking on any energy that we didn't consciously choose to take on.

And now let's begin to gather the attention within our own energy field so we can begin to strengthen it slowly and steadily.

Guiding your attention like a spotlight instinctively towards your heart.

Connecting to that energy of your own heart deeply.

Guiding the attention down into the stomach.

Diving deeper into the energy of your stomach in this moment.

Connecting to your own gut instinct.

Dropping down into the pelvic floor,

Feeling the energy.

And moving into your legs with your attention.

The waterfall of energy cascading down into your feet.

And that energy rising smoothly into your hands.

Feeling the attention migrate upwards into your arms.

Feeling your head and your face,

All the tingles and vibrations in that area.

And now taking a gentle deep breath and feeling the wave of energy move down through the whole body,

Lighting it up like a single ball of vibrating energy.

Maybe you see this ball of energy as having a color or an image embrace whatever you notice and keep your attention connected to the sensations that you feel head to toe.

Notice how the longer you keep your attention on your body head to toe,

The stronger the vibration and energy field that you're cultivating within yourself becomes.

The energy becoming crisper,

The sensations becoming more vivid as you stay connected head to toe.

And now starting to put 100% of your attention into that energy field of the body as though you're becoming your body's energy field with your whole mind.

Letting go of thoughts and distractions the instant they arise as you surf this energy field head to toe,

Moment to moment.

Feel yourself holding your attention on your body's energy head to toe with a gentle but firm balance.

Take a few more moments to really immerse and steep yourself in your own energy field,

Feeling it become more and more stable and connected.

And now feeling that energy field as though it's glowing and expanding past the limits of your skin,

Taking up space as it fills the radius of a few feet around your body.

Feeling that energy emanating,

Not thinking about it,

Feeling and sensing that emanation of energy.

Allowing yourself to be totally unafraid of emanating that energy,

Of taking up that space and allowing your own presence to be felt powerfully in this moment.

Recognizing every time you practice cultivating and connecting to your own energy field,

This allows you to practice the habit of staying grounded in your own energy,

Of holding this awareness like a staff firmly planted in the ground so that any energy you don't want to take on,

You can simply choose to stay grounded in your own.

And when you do feel safe to open and connect with the energy around you,

You can choose to balance your attention to open it up and turn more of the focus and attention outward so that that energy flows both ways when you want it to.

So taking a moment to visualize a situation where you don't want to be influenced by the outside world and emotions,

And visualizing yourself holding your attention on the energy field of your body.

Seeing and feeling yourself totally connected to that,

And feeling yourself less and less influenced by what's outside of you.

Now letting that go and seeing a different scenario where you do feel safe and ready to open that energy back up,

And now seeing and feeling yourself choosing to open your focus and energy,

And connecting and balancing those emotions with the outside world and other people in whatever way feels good to you.

Seeing and feeling that flow as a choice.

Just taking one final moment now to reflect on how as you practice cultivating your own energy field and holding that in real life situations,

Noticing how you get better and better at this skill of grounding yourself in your own energy field and choosing when you want to open it back up.

Opening the door to striking a balance that feels great to you.

Taking as much time as you want to rest in,

Simmer,

And strengthen that energy and awareness of yourself.

And when you feel ready,

Gently,

Gradually open your eyes,

Move at whatever pace in whatever way feels intuitive to you,

And carry that powerful grounded energy field back with you in a gentle but deliberate way.

Hi Cyrus, I was happy to come across and practice this meditation. I recently learned about being an Empath. I was actually reading about it to help my son and realized how much also applied to me. Iโ€™m just now learning about myself and techniques to help me not absorb so much energy and stay grounded. Itโ€™s very challenging. When creating an energy field around myself to protect my space and energy, does it make people feel as if Iโ€™ve shut down or closed up and withdrawn ? I always worry about that because I can feel that about other people. I want to provide a welcoming, healing and safe space for people. But I worry creating an energy field around me will affect these intentions.
