If you need to let go of stress or anxiety and drift into a restful sleep,

This practice is for you.

This soothing deep sleep meditation is perfect for unwinding and quieting your mind.

I will support you in fostering a sense of peace and detachment from your thoughts and worries,

Recognizing that you are not your thoughts.

Notice the benefits of a calmer mind and a more rejuvenated self all while you sleep.

I'm Sarah Raymond from the Mindful Movement.

As you prepare for sleep,

I invite you to make yourself comfortable.

This time is solely for you,

A special place where you can release the day's burdens and embrace the tranquility of the night.

Close your eyes when you are ready and invite your awareness to shift inward.

Allow your focus on your intentional breath to begin to settle you.

Begin by slowly inhaling through your nose,

Feeling the air gently fill your lungs.

Notice the subtle pause when your inhalation reaches its peak.

Now exhale through your mouth like a full and complete sigh.

Imagine all lingering thoughts and worries being released with your breath.

Take another long,

Slow breath in through your nose.

Intentionally hold the subtle pause for a moment longer,

Savoring this breath of life.

Now exhale completely,

Releasing the air and any tensions or worries you've been carrying.

With each breath,

Feel yourself sinking deeper into relaxation,

Your body becoming heavier and more relaxed.

Continue this pattern of breathing,

Each cycle taking you deeper into relaxation.

Allow the lengthening of your exhales to help you let go.

Notice any remnants of tension or mental clutter.

With every breath out,

Feel a sense of release as if layers of mental weight are being lifted off your shoulders.

Take as many more long,

Slow breaths on your own as you need to patiently allow yourself to begin shifting towards ease.

Continue to breathe deeply and rhythmically,

Allowing this process of release to unfold naturally.

With every exhale,

You can feel more and more at peace,

More detached from the transient thoughts and concerns of the day.

Enjoy the peaceful,

Calming effect this breath has on your mind and body.

Feel the harmonious balance between your breath and your thoughts,

Each cycle of breath taking you deeper into a state of serene detachment.

Allow your breath to return to a natural and automatic rhythm when you are ready.

Now bring your awareness to your physical body experience.

Imagine a wave of relaxation starting from the top of your head and slowly moving down.

Feel this wave as it travels across your forehead,

Smoothing out any creases of concern.

Let this soothing sensation glide over your eyes,

Releasing the strain of the day.

Feel your eyelids becoming heavy,

Your eyes resting peacefully in their sockets.

You are safe and supported to let go now.

Allow this wave of relaxation to move down to your cheeks and jaw.

Unclench your teeth,

Part your lips slightly,

And feel the ease spreading across your face.

Notice how your facial muscles soften,

Releasing expressions and entering a state of serene stillness.

You are safe and supported to let go now.

Bring your attention to your neck and shoulders.

Perhaps you have a pattern of holding tension in these areas.

Simply by bringing your attention to these patterns with your intention to relax,

You can let go.

Feel the relief as the tension melts away like ice thawing under the warmth of the sun.

Let your shoulders drop,

Creating space between your shoulders and your ears as if a weight has been lifted off.

Now focus on your arms and hands.

Bring your intention of letting go to this area of your body and feel the stress flowing out of your fingertips,

Leaving your arms relaxed,

Heavy and comfortable.

You are safe and supported to let go now.

Continue this journey of relaxation down to your chest and abdomen.

Take a deep breath in,

Expanding your chest and belly,

And as you exhale,

Feel your torso sinking into the surface beneath you.

Let go of any tightness in these areas.

Move your awareness to your back.

Allow your mind's eye to scan through the muscles along your spine as you release there.

Feel each vertebra settling into place,

Your back muscles softening and relaxing into the support beneath you.

Now bring your attention to your hips.

Bring your intention of release to this area of your body and let go now.

Feel the relaxation spreading through your pelvis.

You are safe and supported to let go now.

Shift your focus to your thighs,

Knees,

Calves and feet.

Feel the wave of relaxation flowing down to the tips of your toes,

Leaving the entire length of your legs feeling heavy and deeply relaxed.

Your entire body is now in a state of deep relaxation.

In this state,

Your mind is open,

Receptive and ready for the journey of deep sleep and releasing attachment.

You are safe and supported to let go now.

Now use the power of your mind to continue recognizing that you are not your thoughts.

Embrace the understanding that you are safe and supported to let go now.

Become aware of the inner landscape of your mind.

This is a space of non-judgmental observation,

A place of mindful compassion.

Imagine your thoughts as leaves on a magnificent ancient tree.

Each leaf represents a thought,

A memory,

An emotion.

Observe how they gently sway in the breeze,

Some fluttering away,

Others simply resting in their place.

Like these leaves,

Your thoughts are natural and integral parts of your being,

Yet they are not the entirety of who you are.

As you watch these leaves,

Some may drift to the ground,

A natural and effortless release.

This is the nature of your thoughts,

They come and go,

Each one transient and impermanent.

There's no need to hold on to them,

No need to define yourself by them.

Just like the tree releases its leaves,

You can release your thoughts.

Now offer a sense of mindful compassion for yourself.

If you find a thought that troubles you,

Instead of pushing it away,

Observe it with kindness and understanding.

Acknowledge it,

Thank it for whatever lesson it may hold,

And then let it float away.

This act of compassionate acknowledgement allows you to detach from the thought,

Recognizing it as just a fleeting part of your experience,

Not a permanent marker of yourself.

In this space,

There is no judgment,

Only awareness.

You are not your thoughts,

You are the observer of your thoughts,

A conscious presence that watches and understands without attachment.

Continue to relax as you observe this dance of thoughts,

Like leaves in the wind.

Feel the freedom that comes from this understanding,

The freedom from being entangled in the ever-changing narrative of the mind.

You are grounded,

Like the tree,

Stable and serene,

Regardless of the movements of the leaves.

Take a few more moments in this space of non-judgmental observation and mindful compassion.

With each natural and relaxed breath,

Feel more grounded in your true self,

More at peace with the natural ebb and flow of your thoughts.

In your mind,

Imagine yourself standing at the edge of a tranquil forest.

The trees,

Tall and majestic,

Stand as guardians of peace and wisdom.

Their leaves whisper in the gentle breeze,

A symphony of nature's calm.

Begin to walk slowly along a path that weaves through this forest.

With each step,

Feel the soft,

Forgiving earth beneath your feet,

Cushioning your way.

The scent of pine and earth fills the air,

Grounding and soothing.

As you venture deeper,

You notice a small,

Clear stream flowing beside the path.

The water is crystal clear,

Effortlessly moving along its course.

It moves with purpose,

Yet yields to the contours of the land,

A beautiful dance of strength and surrender.

You approach the stream and sit by its bank.

You watch the water as it flows,

And notice how it effortlessly releases itself to the journey ahead.

Never holding back,

Never stagnant.

Let this stream be a mirror to your thoughts.

Just as the water flows by,

Allow your thoughts to move freely,

Unattached,

Flowing into the vast ocean of consciousness.

Now turn your gaze upward to the canopy above.

See the rays of sunlight peek through the leaves,

Creating a kaleidoscope of light and shadow.

The light dances upon your skin,

Warm and gentle.

In this moment,

Feel yourself connected to all of nature,

Part of its endless cycle of growth and renewal.

In the distance,

You hear the gentle song of birds,

A sound that resonates with the rhythm of your heart.

Allow this sound to guide you further into a state of deep relaxation and connection.

Each note reminds you of the beauty of letting go,

Of being in harmony with the world around you.

Spend a few more moments in this forest,

Absorbing its tranquility and wisdom.

With each moment in nature,

Draw in the forest's serene energy.

Feel a sense of renewal and clarity filling your being,

A gentle reminder of the beauty of release and the power of letting go.

Continue to enjoy the beautiful scene in nature in your mind as you rest in deep contemplation.

In the stillness of your mind,

Consider the essence of a tree.

A tree stands tall and firm,

Not because it clings to its leaves,

But because it is rooted in something deeper,

The earth.

It lets go of its leaves every year,

Embracing change and renewal with grace.

Like the tree,

You too are rooted in something deeper,

Something unshakable,

Your true self.

Your thoughts and feelings,

Like the tree's leaves,

Are part of your experience,

But they do not define the core of who you are.

They come and go,

They change and fade,

Yet you remain.

You are constant,

Rooted in the depths of your being.

Imagine your life as a river.

It flows,

Sometimes calm and sometimes turbulent,

Yet the river never holds on to the water.

It understands the nature of flowing,

The art of being.

It knows that holding on to anything is as futile as trying to grasp the flowing water.

As you sit by this river of life,

Watch its flow.

Observe how it embraces each twist and turn,

How it accepts each rock and bend as part of its path.

It flows without attachment,

Without fear.

It simply is.

You too can embrace the flow of life with the same ease and grace.

You can navigate the twists and turns of your journey without resistance or fear,

But with acceptance and trust.

Trust in the wisdom of your true self.

Trust in the journey of life.

This moment of contemplation brings you closer to an understanding of your true nature.

Like the tree,

You are resilient.

Like the river,

You are fluid.

In this realization,

There is a profound sense of peace and freedom.

A freedom that comes from knowing that you are more than your thoughts,

More than your emotions.

You are a timeless essence connected to the eternal flow of life.

Carry this wisdom in your heart as you continue on your path.

Let it be a gentle reminder of your strength,

Your resilience,

And your inherent wisdom.

When you feel ready,

Slowly rise from the bank of the stream in your imagination.

Take one last look at the flowing water,

A symbol of your journey through thoughts and emotions.

And then begin to walk back along the path,

Carrying with you the peace and insights gained from this tranquil forest.

Now in this calm state of mind and heart,

Hear my words become your words.

You can listen with a relaxed,

Drifting consciousness.

These statements,

Like soft whispers to your soul,

Are here to reinforce the feelings of peace,

Release,

And self-compassion.

Let them flow over you,

Sweeping gently into your subconscious as you move closer to sleep.

In this moment,

I am at peace with all that I am.

I release my thoughts like leaves in the wind,

Effortlessly,

Gracefully.

With every breath,

I embrace deeper calm and serenity.

I am anchored in the present,

Free from the tides of past and future.

My true nature is peace.

My true self is calm.

I trust in the flow of life,

Embracing its twists and turns with ease.

I am a being of strength and resilience,

Rooted in inner wisdom.

I am worthy of tranquility and peace in every moment.

With each breath,

I allow myself to release what no longer serves me.

I am more than my thoughts.

I am the calm observer of my mind.

Every day,

I grow stronger in my ability to let go with grace.

I am deserving of a peaceful mind and a restful heart.

My spirit is unburdened with the weight of transient worries.

I feel deep peace in the knowledge that all things are temporary.

I embrace each moment with a heart full of serenity.

In stillness,

I discover my true,

Untroubled self.

My inner peace is a sanctuary I carry with me always.

With compassion,

I release my grip on thoughts that do not serve me.

Each moment is an opportunity for peace and renewal.

My heart is a reservoir of calmness,

Untouched by outer turmoil.

As these affirmations echo in the space around you,

Feel their truth resonate within.

They are not just words.

They are reflections of your deepest truths.

Gentle reminders of your innate tranquility and strength.

Let each statement be a soft light in your mind.

A guiding star in the night sky of your consciousness.

With each repetition,

Feel the light growing brighter,

Filling you with warmth and comfort.

Take a few moments to bask in the glow of these affirmations.

Feel their positive energy enveloping you,

Cradling you in a cocoon of peace and love.

Allow them to drift with you as you move closer and closer to a state of restful sleep.

In this moment,

I am at peace with all that I am.

I release my thoughts like leaves in the wind,

Effortlessly,

Gracefully.

As you continue to relax your body and mind,

Allow yourself to drift towards the serene embrace of sleep.

Feel the gentle rhythm of your breath,

The softness of your relaxed body,

And the quietness of your mind.

Imagine yourself in a place of absolute peace,

Safe in your body,

In your bed.

Here,

Time slows down and the world outside you fades away,

Leaving only you and the soothing blanket of night.

Feel the gentle pull of sleep.

Your eyelids grow heavier with each natural relaxed breath,

A comforting weight that signals the arrival of rest.

Feel yourself sinking deeper into your bed,

Your body supported and cradled by the softness beneath you.

Your thoughts become whispers,

Then silence,

As you surrender to the healing power of sleep.

Allow my voice to become a distant echo,

A guiding light leading you to the shores of sleep.

Here in this place of rest,

You are safe.

You are cared for.

You are at peace.

There is nothing more for you to do now but let go into rest.

Let go of all that has passed and trust in all that is to come.

Sleep is a journey,

A chance to renew and rejuvenate.

As my guidance gently fades away,

I leave you with a wish for a night of peaceful sleep and sweet dreams.

May you awaken refreshed,

Renewed,

And filled with peace.

Good night,

Dear friend.

Sleep well.
