Reconnect with the five elements within you, from grounding and supportive earth to subtle and empty space in this very simple and accessible way. Immerse yourself in You to discover that the whole Universe is within you.
Transcript
Allow yourself to switch from doing to being mode.
Nothing to do.
Allow your eyes to close,
And let your body fully relax into the ground or whatever support you're using.
Let your hips and shoulders soften down.
Let them crash into the earth.
Let all of your body surrender to gravity.
Perhaps take a deep breath in through the nose,
And let it out through the mouth.
And as you do so,
Allow any residual tension to subside.
And let's do that one more time.
Inhale deeply,
Exhale out.
And perhaps the last time with a sigh,
Inhale deeply.
And let's do that one more time.
You can choose to listen to my voice in a way that supports you.
You can follow it completely,
Or you can let go of it completely.
It doesn't matter.
Whatever serves you in this particular moment.
Allow your awareness to flow to your nose and your sense of smell.
Let any fragrances of the environment travel to you.
Notice your tendency to label them as good or bad,
Safe or unsafe.
Allow yourself to trust this instinctive judgement.
It is your natural wisdom.
Our sense of smell is our primary sense.
It is connected to the element of earth.
Our feeling of belonging,
Safety and support.
Welcome the element of earth and the sense of smell.
Allow the earth to hold you and support you.
Welcome your physical body on the mat or the bed or wherever you are right now.
Welcome yourself in the physical space around you.
Welcome yourself in this world.
Welcome yourself wherever you are in your life.
Welcome yourself wherever you are in your life.
Feel fully supported.
Let the earth have you.
Let your awareness flow to your mouth and the sense of taste.
Take a moment to notice any tastes in your mouth.
Or perhaps the absence of tastes.
Notice the humid quality of your mouth.
The fluidity of your mouth.
Become aware of the root of the tongue bathed in nourishing liquid.
And as you notice that,
Allow the jaws to relax and let the teeth part wider in your mouth.
Allow your mouth to surrender to gravity.
Our sense of taste is related to the element of water.
Our emotional world,
Our ability to allow life to flow through us.
Our ability to nurture ourselves and others.
Our capacity to accept things as they are.
Welcome the element of water and change.
Welcome pulsation between apparent polarities.
Welcome your preferences.
Welcome all of your feelings.
See if you can consider them as precious guides rather than enemies and friends.
Good and bad feelings.
See if you can embrace them all.
See if you can allow them to participate in this yoga nidra and be nourished by it.
Total allowance.
Become aware of your eyes and your sense of sight.
Notice the color of your own eyelids.
It is rarely just black.
Usually there is some light coming through and a shade of color.
So take a moment to notice that.
Let the eyes set behind your eyelids and let them drop down towards the back of the head so that they can be bathed and nourished.
So that they can relax so much that they can see more clearly when you reopen them.
Our sense of sight is related to the element of fire.
Fire or determination.
Desire,
Power but also digestion and warmth.
Welcome the sense of sight and the element of fire.
Welcome the innocence and the power of your desires.
Welcome your ability to see clearly and persevere towards your dreams.
Welcome the ability in you to transform any obstacles into challenges.
Welcome your capacity to digest food,
Information and emotions.
In the fire of transformation.
Full power.
Full power.
Become aware of your skin and your sense of touch.
Become aware of the covered portion of the skin.
And notice the subtle contact between the clothes and the skin.
And every time you become aware of new point of contact,
It is a signal for this part of your body to relax more deeply.
Become aware of the uncovered skin.
Notice the air brushing the uncovered skin.
Notice the difference in temperature between the air and your skin.
Our sense of touch is related to the element of air.
The element of air and our prana,
Our life force.
Our essence of joy,
Love and freedom.
Welcome the element of air and the sense of touch.
Welcome your ability to constantly grow and expand.
Welcome the healing power of joy in your life,
Even in the hardest of times.
Welcome your brave,
Loving heart.
Welcome the sense of complete freedom.
Absolutely free,
Overflowing with love.
Let your awareness flow to your ears and your sense of sound.
Become aware of all the cavities inside your ears,
All these empty spaces.
Let the sounds of the environment travel through space to you.
Notice the sounds that are far from you and the sounds that are nearby.
Notice the sounds coming through the speaker from Stoke Newton,
London,
And the sounds that originate from your room.
Notice the habitual tendency to label those sounds,
To want to understand them.
And see if you can very gently let go of that,
Just receive them as sound waves traveling through space.
Sound is also very primary to us.
It was there before sight.
Before we were able to see anything,
We heard.
We heard the heartbeat of our moms.
We heard the rhythm of life.
Our sense of hearing is related to the element of space.
Outer space,
The outside world,
But also inner space,
Our awareness.
The element of space is related to our voice,
Our message,
And our truth.
Welcome the sounds of the environment and the element of space.
The space above you,
Below you,
Outside of you,
And within you.
Take a moment to notice the empty cavities inside your body.
With every inhalation,
Notice the empty space inside your body.
With every exhalation,
Notice the space outside your body.
With every in-breath,
Notice the new arrival.
With every out-breath,
Notice the sweet departure.
With every in-breath,
A new life.
With every out-breath,
A new release.
From the very first breath we took,
To the very sweet last breath we will ever take.
Notice that whatever you are experiencing right now through your senses,
You are aware of it.
It's very simple.
There is a silent background in which everything else takes place.
A changeless,
Silent,
Vast,
Infinite space.
Allow your attention to retreat from the world of sense perceptions.
Let them all go.
Let them dissolve into that vast,
Infinite space of your awareness.
May all beings be free and happy.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.

A welcome change from most of the meditations I've been doing, this exploration of the internal, physical senses invites complex weavings with external elements.
