I want to talk to you about my experiences with what people call intuition.
Some people call it the gut instinct.
I believe in intuition.
Some people don't.
I believe that your body has the answers.
I believe that if you have a strong mind-body connection through an active mindfulness muscle being strong and also being in a very active meditation routine,
That your body will definitely give you what you need to move in life,
And you can check in with it.
I believe that.
That's my take,
So please know that I'm coming from that perspective.
Intuition to me is an interesting one,
And I've had a bit of a journey with it myself.
It's almost like it can fool you.
If you don't have that strong mind-body connection and you have traumas around certain things,
Then your intuition can act and show you out of fear.
You may go,
I don't feel right about this,
But you might not be reacting from your authentic self.
One of the things that we have to do as human beings that do rely on our gut instincts is we have to be in a healthy space through healed traumas and through being mindful and through also in a meditation practice so that if something happens to you where you have a quick response to it and you go,
Oh,
My body's telling me no,
To have the ability to step back and go,
Why is my body telling me no?
What has happened in my past around this particular topic that causes me to want to do X or do Y or do Z?
You need to be careful with your intuition because it sometimes is going to react from not an authentic version of yourself.
As you do more meditation work and as you get to know that mind-body connection more,
You are then moving into a space of reacting from what I like to call healthy intuition where you can react from a space that is actually more in alignment with what it is that you truly want or what is the direction that you truly want to head in.
It can be anything.
It can be,
Oh,
My gosh,
I don't want to take that job because I don't feel worthy of that job because I don't feel worthy.
And then you can go,
Why don't you want to take that job?
Then you can step back and go,
Oh,
Okay,
Well,
I don't feel worthy of the job,
So I'm going to look at the worthiness thing and go,
Okay,
I'm going to feel a little bit,
I'm going to feel worthy.
I'm going to feel that job is in alignment with me.
So right now you're acting from a place of trauma,
Of non-worth,
And you're not getting the thing that you want to go,
But your body's telling you,
No,
No,
No,
This is a dangerous thing so you don't get it.
Another example,
Mark Gross talks about it in this really beautiful podcast he did recently called The Alchemy of Commitment,
Which I thought was a great title.
When we enter into a commitment into a relationship,
Be it a new relationship or be it an existing relationship,
That is scary.
That is scary.
Because our past,
We could have had really terrible experiences with relationships.
We open ourselves up to someone and we get used or we get hurt.
So then when we're entering into the next relationship or the possibility of it and our body goes,
I don't want to do this,
I don't want to do this,
Even though it's probably more in alignment than you know,
The more in alignment that it is,
The more scary it is because the more real it is.
You need to step back and go,
Why am I fearful of this really wonderful thing that could change the outcome of my life?
And you go,
Why am I,
Okay,
I'm feeling fear.
Why am I feeling fear?
Oh,
It's because I've been hurt in the past.
Oh,
It's because when I was a kid,
You know,
This was the relationships that were modeled.
So you're bringing your past into this current decision and your body,
Your quote unquote intuition,
Unhealthy intuition or fearful intuition or trauma informed intuition is actually causing you to make a choice that's not in alignment with who you are and what you are and what you believe.
So the more work we do through meditation and through understanding ourselves and our traumas and being mindful of why we're acting a certain way in the world,
We can actually make better decisions in our life through a healthy intuition of what our body is telling us that we want.
So keep doing the work,
Keep pushing through it and it never ends,
But the closer you're going to get to making decisions that are more in alignment with who you are as a person,
What you believe,
What you love,
What you care about,
And you're going to move into experiences that you never thought you were worthy of and you're not scared of anymore.
And you're going to move into these experiences and it's just going to make your life full of more joy.
So I hope that helps explain my version of what I feel intuition is a little bit.
So one healthy intuition because that makes the world a better place and that takes work and that's what we're doing.
So until next time,
Peace and love.
