Hello,

I'm Vimla Sara.

Welcome to Day 1,

A meditation on the breath.

The music today has been composed by Yeshe Shodran,

Also known as Laurie Lesk.

Breath is the place where you can come home to yourself.

When you connect to the breath,

You can restore calm in your heart and mind.

Breath is the pause,

The gap where you can make new choices.

We are inviting you to become more aware of your breathing taking place.

This can be scary for some people,

So we give you some guidelines to help you begin to cultivate more awareness in your life.

This meditation is noticing the mind wandering and bringing it back to the breath.

Each time you notice the mind is wandering,

That's great because you have noticed and are cultivating more awareness.

Once you have noticed,

Gently bring your attention back to the breath.

Let's begin.

Take a breath in and feel the breath filling your body.

Take a breath out and feel the breath leaving your body,

Noticing if there is a deep breath,

Noticing if there is a shallow breath,

Noticing if there is a calm breath,

Noticing if there is a slow breath,

Saying to yourself silently,

Breathing in,

I know I'm breathing in.

Saying to yourself silently,

Breathing out,

I know I'm breathing out.

Breathing in,

I know I'm breathing in.

Breathing out,

I know I'm breathing out.

Now observe your breath lifting and falling for the next three minutes.

When the mind becomes concentrated on the music or caught up in thoughts,

Gently bring it back to the breath lifting and falling.

Thank you, Vimalsara. I really enjoyed this and appreciate your voice, lovely. One small thing if I may - Yeshe Chodron’s name - the ch- sound is like the ch of ‘change’ not a ‘sh’ sound. 🙇🏽‍♂️

Very helpful instruction...my mind whirls and twirls and goes everywhere. This calm, basic practice was just what it needed...bringing me back to my breath over and over. The music was quite lovely as well. Thank you 🌟🙏🏻❣️

Lovely way to begin a series of meditations. Loved the simple way to notice whether I am breathing deeply or shallow. Loved the music and the space to connect and when I wandered coming back again to my breath. I noticed my breathing slow and get deeper the farther into the meditation I went. Very beautiful experience. I look forward to doing the second one tomorrow.

I am glad I ignored the oddly low rating. This may be simple but it helped to bring my meditation back to its roots, it’s fundamentals. Good for anyone.

I love when a meditation is used for recovery. It makes me feel more a part of the meditation community. One of the downsides of addiction is being easily distracted and lacking connection. This guided meditation provided an opportunity for me to focus intently on my breath.

Thank you for the reminder that nothing's more important than the breath. If I'm not breathing, I'm not doing anything! The music is lovely. Your voice is lovely!

I've been meditating consistently for awhile but this is my first time being able to fully focus on my breath with minor interruption. Toward the end, I had a feeling I can't really describe but it was not bad. Thank you
