Hello,

I'm Vimalasara.

Welcome to day five,

A day of breathing.

We remind you of your breath,

Because connecting to the breath can really support our long-term recovery.

We all need to slow down,

Pause and connect to the breath,

So we hope that you will learn to occupy the breath,

Become one with the breath,

Trust your breath,

Listen to your breath.

Today we are delighted to use the short verse written by Thich Nhat Hanh on the breath.

The music has been arranged and composed for this verse by Nina Wise and the verse is sung by the songsters.

The breath gives us a natural pause in the day.

Connecting to the breath can give us the gap we need to make a different choice.

The breath can alert you when you are feeling hungry,

Angry,

Tired or lonely.

All of these can be triggers.

Learn to connect to your breath.

Breath is the best teacher we have.

Calm breath,

Calm mind.

Become aware of what you are feeling by stopping,

Pausing and taking a deep breath.

Every time your mind wanders,

Gets caught up in thinking,

Just bring it back gently and kindly to the words being sung.

Pause now,

Then take a deep breath right down into your stomach.

Just listen and breathe as you hear the words being sung.

Let your breath just be,

Don't force it.

Breathe in and out,

Enjoying each breath no matter how shallow or deep.

Deep breath,

Slow breath,

Calm breath,

Ease breath,

Smile breath,

Release.
