Hello and welcome to another five minute mindfulness session.

In this video we're going to be doing something really simple.

We're going to be taking a mindfulness pause.

So I want you to imagine that you are just pressing the pause button on the day.

Life can be very stressful.

It can seem very busy.

So it's really important that we slow down,

That we hit that pause button and we maybe close our eyes.

We maybe follow our breath,

Take some deep breaths and just enjoy that calm relaxation that follows.

So I will invite you to do that now.

I'd like you to just close your eyes gently and start just by paying attention to the surface below you.

So if you're sat on a chair or a sofa,

Just notice how that feels.

If you are laying down,

Just notice that feeling of being supported.

And just pay attention to if this is soft or if the chair or the sofa or the bed is hard.

And now gently move your attention to your breathing without changing how you're breathing.

Just notice when you're breathing in and when you are breathing out.

And if this is difficult to do,

That's okay.

You can very gently place your hands on your tummy.

And just notice the gentle rising and falling of your tummy muscles as you breathe in and as you breathe out.

And just notice when your mind has wonders,

If it wanders off and you start to think.

And just very gently bring it back to my words.

So still focusing on your breathing,

You may like to take a nice deep breath in and hold it just for a few seconds before letting go and breathing out.

So now very gently moving your attention to the sounds that you can hear.

So just noticing what you can hear.

So the sound of my voice.

But I wonder what other sounds you can hear.

Perhaps day to day sounds of people.

Perhaps footsteps or the tapping of a keyboard.

Or maybe more natural sounds like birds singing.

Just keep your attention on what you can hear right now.

And now just noticing how you are feeling.

What emotions you are feeling if you are tired or sad or happy.

And just being okay with however you are feeling.

And when you are ready in just a moment,

You can open your eyes and before you do,

Just keep this mindfulness feeling.

This calmness with you for the rest of the day.

And if you haven't already,

You can very slowly,

Calmly and gently open your eyes.

Thank you.
