This is a meditation to reorientate ourselves after a difficulty.
To pick ourselves up after a difficulty we surrender and choose again.
So let's make ourselves comfortable.
Take a few deeper breaths and bring ourselves,
Our awareness into our body and our breath.
Slightly longer deeper breaths.
Allowing the muscles of our face to soften and our shoulders to soften.
Bringing our attention inwards.
So we tread a fine line here.
We tread the line between acknowledging a difficult experience and choosing joy.
We don't want to ignore or negate any experience because hiding from it really doesn't help.
But we also want to be creative beings and choose joy.
Be open to joy.
And so we're going to try and address both.
And I do that by surrendering to what is and then choosing again.
And I've done this this morning to manage a difficult experience.
So I offer it to you.
So what are we being asked to surrender to right now?
And while we ask that question can we stay in our body and feel how that difficulty feels in our body?
Can we feel the resistance that we're pushing away that we don't want to experience that experience?
And that may be hard.
But can we find the courage to have a look knowing that the light of our awareness is powerful?
If that experience is difficult can we offer ourselves love as we experience it?
The love we might offer a near and dear one as they experience something like this.
Can we offer that to ourselves?
We may feel moved to hold ourselves or to put our hands on part of the body where we intensely feel that feeling.
Can we love ourselves through this experience?
And if those feelings are strong,
Those difficult feelings are strong we might try to place ourselves in a cinema.
We're in the seats.
We're going to try watching that experience on the screen to get a little bit of distance between us and the event.
That might help.
If the mind tries to sweep us away into the future,
Into the uncertain future or into a past difficult experience can we notice where it's going and return to the present moment where our power lies,
Where our choice lies?
Returning to our body and our breath and letting that be our anchor in the present moment.
And now we've had an honest look at that difficulty as best we can.
Can we now surrender to it?
If it really is in existence right now there's no point resisting your fighting reality.
Can we completely surrender to it?
And you might find a long smooth breath and as you exhale completely allowing your body to release tension.
And let that be a metaphor for your completely surrendering to what is.
And resting there.
With only your breath.
As a creator being,
Choosing to be a creator being,
What is it?
What is it?
What is it?
We now choose.
Standing where we stand in the experience we have,
Which direction do we face?
Can we imagine the sun emerging from behind the clouds shining.
It's light and warmth shining upon us.
Let's breathe that in.
Absorbing that.
And also feeling the love and the healing offered from the earth.
Waves of it coming from beneath our feet.
Let's absorb that too.
Can we choose to be open even in a difficult moment?
So I'm going to offer you a yoga technique working with Vayana Vayu to open ourselves.
So if we place our hands on our heart and as we inhale we're going to open our arms and extend them as far as is comfortable and visualize light and high vibration filling our heart and lungs.
And exhaling we're going to bring our hands back to our heart space and imagine that light concentrating in our heart.
So inhaling opening the arms filling our chest filling our heart with light and energy.
Exhaling feeling it concentrating in our heart bringing our hands back to our heart.
Inhale again.
That might be helpful to visualize a colour.
Exhaling concentrating it in arms in twice more then allowing your breath to be comfortable and easy.
And allowing your arms to come back to rest.
Softening your shoulders,
Relaxing your body and noticing how that feels for us.
If our fearful voice keeps popping into our head can we offer it love and understanding?
That fearful voice is fearful because of its wounds.
Can we even offer that part of us that is afraid at love and understanding cradling it?
Supporting ourselves.
Can we offer it some kind words?
I am safe.
If you are safe if you are not safe that is not a matter for meditation and surrender that is a matter for finding the courage to leave that situation.
And that's our harsh vibration to set against that loving vibration we were cultivating and I urge you to notice how that made you feel and choose again.
So that's the process surrender to that difficulty.
Honestly take a look at it and choose again.
So once again choosing joy,
Peace,
Love whatever feels right for you.
And for the last moment I'm going to offer you to visualise in your mind's eye a place of tranquillity and it might be somewhere you've been once or a hundred times or never been or an action or an experience anything where you find peace.
