Welcome everyone.

As we begin,

Find a position that feels natural and comfortable for you.

If it feels right,

It is right.

So let your spine be straight,

Yet relaxed,

Creating a posture of grounded ease.

Take a deep breath in,

And as you exhale,

Release the weight of expectations.

Allow yourself to arrive fully in this space,

Ready to rest and renew.

Okay,

Let's do some grounding breaths to welcome rest.

So breathe in deeply through your nose,

Steady and gentle,

Letting ease flow into every part of your body.

Exhale softly through your mouth,

Releasing tension and embracing awareness.

Okay,

Inhale again,

Welcoming,

Renewal with each breath,

And exhale fully,

Letting go of the belief that rest must be earned.

It is yours,

Always.

Excellent.

Okay,

Take one final deep breath in,

Feeling grounded,

Supported,

And whole,

And exhale slowly,

Knowing that rest is a powerful act of strength and self-care.

Focus for today.

Rest.

Transformation is often seen as the result of action,

Hustling,

Setting goals,

And moving forward.

But what if true reinvention begins with rest?

Studies consistently highlight the profound impact of rest on our well-being.

Rest not only improves physical health,

But also enhances emotional balance and creativity.

It reduces stress,

Prevents burnout,

And allows the mind and body to recover,

Fostering the energy and clarity needed for meaningful change.

Rest is not a pause,

It's the foundation of progress.

Let go of the belief that every moment must be filled with doing.

Instead,

Give yourself permission to rest,

Knowing that rest is not laziness,

It's wisdom.

From a place of renewal,

Even the smallest step can have a profound effect.

Take a moment to reflect.

How can rest become a tool for your growth?

What does it mean to take just one step at a time,

Guided by your energy?

How could prioritizing rest help you approach life's challenges with clarity and purpose?

Pause,

Listen to your body,

Mind,

And spirit,

And honor their need for rest.

Rest creates clarity,

And clarity fuels meaningful action.

As we move through our rest practice,

Remember that rest is not unproductive,

It is essential.

It enables us to show up for life with energy and purpose.

Take this time to reconnect with yourself,

Honor your journey,

And trust that even in stillness,

You are growing.

So let's begin.

Rest is not indulgent,

It is essential.

It nourishes your energy,

Restores balance,

And renews your spirit.

Today,

We'll journey through seven types of rest,

Exploring how each one can replenish your whole being.

As you breathe with awareness,

Embrace rest as a practice of self-care.

Let's deepen this awareness together with a few intentional breaths.

Take a deep breath in through your nose,

Slow and steady.

Feel your body expand,

Welcoming calm and ease.

And exhale fully through your mouth,

Releasing tension with the breath.

Again,

Breathing deeply,

Noticing the weight of your body settling into the surface.

And exhale slowly,

Letting go of any lingering stress or worry.

Excellent.

Okay,

One more deep breath in,

Connecting to the steady rhythm of life.

Oh,

That's excellent,

Brilliant.

And exhale fully,

Grounding yourself in the present moment.

Exploring the seven types of rest,

Physical rest,

Begin by bringing awareness to your body.

Notice the points of contact,

Your feet on the floor,

Your back supported,

The steady surface beneath you.

Take a deep breath in,

Allowing your muscles to soften and release.

Exhale,

Allowing yourself to soften,

Your shoulders,

Neck,

Body,

You.

As you continue breathing,

Feel your body becoming lighter with each exhale.

Visualize tension dissolving,

Leaving behind a sense of ease and comfort.

Allow yourself to rest in the simple act of being,

Knowing it is enough.

Mental rest.

Now gently bring your attention to your mind.

Notice any thoughts that arise,

Allowing them to come and go naturally,

Without holding onto them.

Take a deep breath in,

Inviting stillness into your mind.

And exhale slowly,

Letting go of mental noise,

Worry,

Or the need to solve anything.

With each breath,

Feel your mind becoming clearer.

Allow a sense of space and ease to grow within you.

Let this moment remind you,

Stillness is not emptiness,

It is renewal.

Emotional rest.

Bring awareness to your heart and emotions.

Notice what feelings are present,

Without trying to change or judge them.

Take a deep breath in,

Inviting acceptance for all that you feel.

Exhale gently,

Releasing the weight of holding back or resisting emotions.

As you breathe,

Visualize a wave of compassion washing over you,

Softening the edges of any tension or heaviness.

Allow yourself to rest in this space of understanding and kindness.

Emotional rest is the courage to feel and let go.

Sensory rest.

Turn your attention to your senses,

The light,

Sound,

And sensations around you.

Take a deep breath in,

Noticing the quiet and stillness of this moment.

And exhale slowly,

Releasing the stimulation of each day,

Screams,

Noise,

Demands.

With each breath,

Let your senses settle into calm,

Embracing the simplicity of being here,

Now.

Feel the peace that comes when the world quiets,

And you return to yourself.

Creative rest.

Bring to mind something that inspires you,

Perhaps a memory,

A piece of art,

Or the beauty of nature.

As you breathe naturally and comfortably,

Feel a sense of wonder and connection to creativity.

Allow yourself to rest in the awe of simply being alive,

Surrounded by beauty and possibility.

Creative rest reminds us that inspiration flows best when we pause to recharge.

Social rest.

Reflect on the relationships in your life.

Consider those who support and uplift you,

As well as those that feel challenging.

Take a deep breath in,

Feeling the care and acceptance of those who value you.

Exhale,

Letting go of the weight of challenging interactions.

Allow yourself to rest in the comfort of meaningful connections.

Remember,

It's okay to step back when needed,

And prioritize your well-being.

Spiritual rest.

Finally,

Bring your awareness to your sense of purpose and belonging.

Reflect on your connection to something greater than yourself,

Faith,

Nature,

Or the vastness of the universe.

Take a deep breath in,

Inviting calm and peace into your spirit,

And exhale slowly,

Slowly as you release.

Releasing doubt,

Isolation,

Or the need to have all the answers.

As you breathe,

Feel yourself held by a greater whole,

Part of an infinite flow of love and connection.

Spiritual rest reminds us that we are never alone.

Reflecting on rest.

So as you breathe naturally,

Take a moment to reflect.

What kind of rest feels most supportive to you right now?

Where in your life do you need more space to pause and recharge?

What small changes can you make to invite more rest into your daily routine?

Let's do that one more time,

And really reflect on it.

What kind of rest feels most supportive to you right now?

Where in your life do you need more space to pause and recharge?

What small changes can you make to invite more rest into your daily routine?

Okay,

Let's close the practice with some guided breaths.

So take a deep breath in,

Feeling renewal flow through your body,

And exhale fully,

Grounding yourself in balance and calm.

Again,

Inhale deeply,

Filling yourself with clarity,

Energy,

And peace,

And exhale slowly,

Carrying this sense of rest into the moments ahead.

Excellent,

Brilliant.

And one final deep breath in,

Connecting to the stillness within you,

And exhale completely,

Grounding yourself in the present,

Feeling restored and whole.

Carry this practice with you,

Knowing that rest is always here,

Waiting for you to return.

You are enough,

And you are worthy of rest.
