Transcript

Welcome to this breath awareness meditation.

Finding yourself a comfortable seated position,

Either in a chair or lying down if you need to.

Resting your hands on your knees or in your lap and close your eyes gently.

Begin by bringing the awareness to your breath.

Notice the sensation of the breath as it enters your body.

Notice the sensation of the breath as it leaves your body.

Breathing in deeply and exhale slowly.

Feeling the rise and fall of your chest and abdomen with each inhale and each exhale.

As you continue to breathe imagine that with each inhale you're drawing in a sense of calm,

A sense of relaxation.

And with each exhale you're letting go of any tension or stress from your day.

Allow your breath to be natural,

Effortless now.

And simply observe it as it flows in and out of your body.

If your mind wanders,

Focus back on the breath and you might find it useful as you breathe in.

Mentally say I'm breathing in and with each breath out mentally say I am breathing out.

And as you breathe in this way you feel more and more present in this moment.

Letting go of any thoughts or worries about your day.

Simply be here now with your breath.

Enjoying the sense of peace,

Sense of stillness that it brings.

And when you're ready slowly open your eyes.

Returning to your day feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
