At the start of this meditation I would like you to think of a good memory that you have of your loved one.
A memory that makes you really happy.
That gives you that sense of who this person was and what it was like to be with them,
To have them in your life.
And if you are grieving over pregnancy loss then think of a moment in your pregnancy where you were really happy and really connected to your child or maybe you already had a vision for them in the future.
And maybe emotions come up when you bring back this memory.
That's okay.
See the emotions,
Let them arise within you.
Breathe with them.
But then also see if you can connect to that feeling of love.
The love you have for that loved one,
That special person.
The person that was such an important presence in your life.
And from that image,
That memory will now bring our attention to the body.
So feel the breath in your chest,
In your belly.
And focus all of your attention on your breath.
See how on the inhalation your belly and your chest rise and how on the exhalation you can let go.
How on the inhalation you can create a little bit of space in your body with your breath.
And how on the exhalation you can surrender and relax a little bit,
Even if it's just 1%.
You use your breath to create that space,
That quietness inside of you.
It's the anchor that you can always get back to.
The anchor that brings you home within yourself.
And from that focus on your breath you now bring your attention to your feet.
The feet on the floor.
And the connection that your body makes with the floor,
With the earth.
See if you can feel the earth pulling you down with the force of gravity.
Feel how you're tethered to the earth.
And how you can let any emotion sink into the earth through your feet.
So if there's anything you're carrying that no longer serves you,
You can just let it go,
Release it through your feet.
Now you bring your attention to the crown of your head as if you have a flower located there.
And see if you can open that flower so that the light of the heavens can flow into your head.
And just feel what feels comfortable for you,
So maybe you just want to open that flower a little bit.
And see if you can let that light enter your head and your body and your heart.
And from this place of connectedness to the earth,
To your breath and to the heavens,
We're now going to take a journey.
So imagine that you find yourself in a beautiful spot in nature.
Just see what the scenery looks like.
Are there any trees or are you at the beach?
What does the sky look like?
Are there any animals or plants around you?
And really tune into all your sensations.
So can you feel your feet on the ground in that beautiful spot?
Can you feel the wind on your skin and in your hair,
On your face?
How does it feel to breathe the air in this location?
To the fresh mountain air or a sea breeze?
Or do you feel the clean air in the forest?
And also notice the quality of the sun on your skin or maybe it's cloudy and you feel the cool air.
Do you hear any sounds?
Maybe birds or the leaves rustling in the wind?
And as you firmly ground yourself here in that spot in nature,
You see your loved one standing there in the distance.
And it's the loved one that you brought back to you now in that memory.
So it's a happy version of your loved one.
And just take them in from that distance.
See them standing there or sitting there.
And see if you can connect to that feeling of love that you have for them,
The longing that's there within you.
The feeling of not wanting to be without this person.
And as you take in their appearance in the distance,
Feel if you are ready to take a couple of steps in their direction.
If it's hard for you,
You can also look around you and see if there is anyone there to support you.
It can be a person or an animal,
Whatever guide appears.
And with or without that support,
You start moving in the direction of your loved one.
You keep taking in their appearance,
Their radiance,
Their beauty.
And see how you feel when you get closer.
Again,
Maybe emotions may arise.
Let them flow through you with your breath.
There is no need to keep anything in.
But also keep looking out for that feeling of love,
Of connection to this special person.
And as you get closer and closer,
Feel their presence in front of you.
You take them in.
And then you see if there is anything you want to tell them.
You don't have to think about it,
Just see if any words arise within you.
And you can tell them now what it is that you want to share.
And maybe you sense that your loved one also wants to respond to your words or has a message of their own for you.
So take the time and see if there is anything that comes your way,
A message,
An image.
What does your loved one have to say to you?
And if you want,
You can get even closer and give them a hug.
And really soak up their energy,
Knowing that that is still around,
That you can still tune into that.
So give it a try and see what it feels like to touch them,
To hug them,
To be with them in your memory.
And then it's time for us to start saying our goodbyes again.
But know that these don't have to be permanent.
You can always come back to this spot,
To this connection.
And as you start to take leave,
Your loved one has a gift for you.
So open your hands and receive that gift that you can take with you.
And with that gift in your hands you take your final goodbye for now.
A goodbye with love.
Now you make your way back to that spot where you found yourself in the beginning.
If you want,
You can do it backwards so you don't have to take your eyes off your loved one.
You see the distance getting bigger and bigger,
But the connection is still there.
You keep soaking up the beauty of this spot,
The support that nature gives us.
Maybe take a final look around as you arrive at that spot,
That initial spot.
You see nature,
You see your loved one in the distance.
You put your hand on your heart and with that feeling of love you come back into your body.
Find your heart to open and breathe with the love.
And keep that connection to the love as you become more aware of your surroundings.
Your feet on the floor,
Your breath.
And when you are ready you can slowly,
Slowly open your eyes.
I will.
