The purpose of this practice is to help you to be able to explore your own storm or monsoon that you may be experiencing at this present moment in your life.
Perhaps you're navigating a loss or a period of sadness,
Or maybe you're longing to release old energy,
Making room for renewed vibrancy in your life.
Whatever you're going through,
Allow yourself to rest comfortably in your current state.
I'll invite you to either sit or lie down,
Whatever it feels like your body needs in this moment.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Hold it at the top for a few seconds,
Before releasing a long cleansing breath out.
Repeat this three more times on your own.
If you find that tears need to fall,
Let them flow freely.
Notice tension releasing from your body when you exhale,
As if you're letting go of something.
Monsoon season in New Mexico is a magical time of year.
The air hangs thick with hopes of renewal and rebirth.
Raindrops dance gently on the earth,
Releasing the comforting and grounding scent of damp soil.
Powerful lightning storms illuminate the sky with a magnetic force,
Creating webs of electricity and connection that mirror the pathways and synapses in our own brains.
Thunder echoes like a hum of consciousness,
Reminding us that we are all connected to this vast and majestic universe.
The Pueblo natives of New Mexico,
The stewards of this enchanted land,
Believe that the monsoon has a profound significance,
Symbolizing cleansing,
Nourishment,
And rebirth.
The rains wash away the past and create space for new growth,
And help to prepare the earth for the bountiful harvests that are to come in the fall.
My voice will be leaving you now,
As you settle in to listen to the sounds of the New Mexico monsoon.
Sit with it.
Let it wash over you.
Allow it to soothe your soul and spirit as you enter your own process of rebirth and renewal.
