As you settle into your nest and as the energies of your mind and body begin to settle down,
Just really let your system receive and hear and feel these words by Tara Bragg who said,
Paying attention is the most basic and profound expression of love.
Paying attention is the most basic and profound expression of love.
So that's what we're going to do this evening.
We're going to give our precious attention to ourselves,
Allowing your attention that has probably been scattered in many different directions today,
To let that attention drop within and come home.
And since paying attention is the most basic and profound expression of love,
This is where self-love starts.
Just by checking in,
Checking in right now and noticing how you feel.
And as you bring your attention right here,
Right now,
That very attention is like a space of love.
So however you feel,
Whatever state of your mind,
Just noticing.
And let's give our attention right now to the simple feeling of the breath.
So taking a really slow and really low breath right down into your belly.
And then just let your body go.
And then in your own time,
Let's just breathe.
Together,
Really slowly and really deeply.
Paying full attention just to your breath.
Inhaling right down into your belly.
And then just giving the exhalation away.
Keeping your attention right here,
Right now,
On the simple feeling of your breath.
And just keep coming back.
Anytime you leave,
Anytime your attention wanders,
Just keep bringing it back to the feeling in the inner passageways of your nostrils.
As your body breathes and really take your time,
Going even more slowly than you are right now.
And let the weight of your whole body drop into the support beneath as you breathe out.
And as you give your full attention to the feeling of your breath and as your body starts to feel safe,
To let the guard down and soften.
Notice how everything starts to settle as you keep your breath low and slow.
And whenever you're ready,
Just let your breath be natural.
But see if you can keep your attention right here on the simple feeling of your breath.
Absolutely nothing to do.
Your attention is like the space of the room that you're in.
Allowing whatever comes into that space to be as it is.
So be wide open to every feeling and give it space.
To every thought,
Giving it all space.
But not getting involved.
And unattached,
Non-judgmental attention to this whole moment.
An attention that is not trying to control or manage what's here.
Just keep bringing it back.
Keep your attention here.
Keep your attention now.
Feel where your head meets the pillow.
And just give up the weight of your whole head to that support.
Let there be a softening of the whole face.
The tongue resting in the mouth.
The hinges of the jaw loosening.
The eyes softening right back.
Everything that's here giving itself to your attention.
The forehead smooth.
The space between eyebrows.
Softening open.
The brain giving up.
Needing to figure anything out.
Needing to keep track of anything.
And finding that whatever comes into the space of your attention is a pointer to love.
Everything that appears in the space of your attention is here to lead you home.
Here for your highest good.
And that doesn't need to make sense to your mind.
Noticing the space behind eyes.
Feeling the sensation.
And giving it your full attention.
Giving it your love.
Feeling the whole head.
Expanding in your attention.
Free.
Welcoming every sound.
The taste inside the mouth.
Everything welcome.
In this space of your attention.
But leaving it all alone.
Just here for it.
Here for this whole moment.
The shoulders softening right down.
The simple experience.
Arms.
The back of the arms.
Just the feeling.
The simple experience.
Hands.
Arising in the space of your attention.
Hands.
Not the memory.
Not the idea.
But the actual feeling.
Hands.
Arising in the light of your attention.
Hands.
How do you know right now in this moment that hands are there?
Palms of hands.
Thumbs.
Second fingers.
Third.
Fourth.
Little fingers.
The right side of the back.
The left side of the back.
The whole spine.
Whole spine.
The tailbone.
Softening down.
The right side of the chest.
Left side of the chest.
The natural rise and fall of your body.
As it breathes.
The abdomen.
Hips releasing their weight.
Whole right leg.
Just the feeling.
Whole left leg.
Just giving up the weight of the legs.
Souls of feet.
Souls of feet.
The current sensation that we call souls of feet.
The whole body.
The whole body.
Suspended in your attention.
Like a warm bath of love.
That welcomes this body exactly as it is.
The whole body.
Softening.
Just a little more.
Checking in.
And noticing any areas of holding.
Clenching.
And just giving it all up.
Giving it all up.
Keeping your attention right here.
Keeping your attention right now.
And now I invite you to let all the objects of attention fall away.
So that you're just resting here quietly.
As a wide open awareness.
A space of love.
That is completely unattached.
To whatever appears within itself.
You don't need to conjure it up.
You don't need to manufacture it in any way.
You already are.
That space of love.
All ready,
Unattached.
A love that is so free.
That it welcomes everything in itself.
And so let's give up.
That last trace of attachment.
To things being a particular way.
That last trace of attachment.
To anything.
And no matter how scary that might be.
For the small self.
I invite you to take that plunge right now.
Plunging into the mystery of love.
And now I invite you to take that plunge right now.
And now I invite you to take that plunge right now.
And now I invite you to take that plunge right now.
And now I invite you to take that plunge right now.
And now I invite you to take that plunge right now.
And now I invite you to take that plunge right now.
And now I invite you to take that plunge right now.
And now I invite you to take that plunge right now.
And now I invite you to take that plunge right now.
And now I invite you to take that plunge right now.
And now I invite you to take that plunge right now.
Just being.
Just being.
Just allowing your attention to rest gently on your whole body.
Whole body.
Not just the feeling,
Not thinking about the body.
Not imagining the body.
Listening to the direct feeling right now in this moment.
Feel where your body makes contact with the surface beneath.
Just the feeling.
Feel the sensation in the palms.
And notice that your body is breathing.
And let your breath deepen again,
Taking a few more of those low and slow breaths in your own time.
Breathing in right down into your belly.
And breathing out.
Just letting it all go.
Just so that there's just this moment.
Just like this.
Giving your full attention to this whole moment.
And as you pay attention to what's here,
Just knowing that this is the most basic and profound expression of love.
Just really feel your breath right now.
Giving it your full attention.
Feel the sensation in the inner passageways of your nostrils.
And as you take these slow and low breaths,
Call forward a prayer for your life.
Just giving your attention to whatever wants to be seen and heard.
Listening to your heart.
And allowing your heart's deepest longing to arise in the space of your attention.
What is it that you want more than anything in this life?
And what do you need help with?
What help do you need to take those steps closer to receiving that heartfelt longing for your life?
What help do you need?
And asking for that help and trusting that it will come.
And let's spend some time in gratitude for what we have.
And I invite you right now just to call forward all that you're grateful for.
And to really feel and sense that gratitude.
In every cell of your body.
Attending to what you're grateful for.
Attending to your heart.
Attending to every part of you that needs your love and attention.
So just lying here quietly.
Attending to whatever wants and needs to be held.
In the tenderness of your attention.
That precious gift.
That right now you're choosing to give to yourself.
Let yourself breathe really freely.
So my heart just wants to express my gratitude for having a space where we can come together and explore what it means.
Just to be human.
And to deal with all of the human challenges.
Giving ourselves some space in our week.
Where we just attend to here.
And to now.
So staying anchored in the tender space.
Of your attention.
Really continue to give that to yourself.
Checking in with what your body needs.
Does your body need to move?
Does your body want to continue to rest?
Go really slowly continuing to pay attention to right now.
Right here.

I came back to this track because I fell asleep so fast. This time was a unique experience. My life training has been to control emotions because they get in the way of making better decisions. This time I was able to release that control and allow you to guide me to feel rather than think. I became lost in your thoughts and am grateful for your presence stayed in the moment. Thank you for sharing it with me. šš

I can't say thank you enough for this. I felt absolutely fearless after listening to this recording. It brought me 'home' to who 'I am'. It also helped to wipe out a lot of self judgement and judgement I have about others. I feel that it is only love that can heal. This meditation is such a Godsend. When I listened to it the first few times I was overwhelmed by its beauty. Now the beauty of it is beginning to penetrate me. You are such a wonderful and inspirational teacher. You change people. I am so grateful for that. Love Shuman Dear Amanda, after listening to this, even though what I say may be obvious, it is obvious that no matter how stressful or pressing one's own or the world problems may be, that it is always love that must come first. I notice how my brain often gets it the wrong way around. ( As you know I listen to this every day. Thank you so much Amanda.) Love Shuman Undoubtedly the best meditation on Insight Timer and the whole wide world š.
