Exploring The Divine Feminine + Masculine Within
Do you feel like sometimes you can’t breathe and that you are forcing your way through life? By balancing the feminine and masculine energy within you, you can stop forcing, burning out, and feeling stuck. The Divine Feminine and Masculine form the energetic blueprint of who we are as humans. It’s time to start valuing them and finding the balance. In this solo episode, I dive deep into understanding the difference between feminine and masculine energy and establishing boundaries.

Welcome to the sacred dance first episode.
I'm just clearing the space with some Palo Santo.
I'm excited.
Yes,
I try and use as sustainably sourced Palo Santo as I can.
I'm excited to speak with you today.
Our first episode here and the beginning of this journey.
And today I'm going to talk about the divine feminine and the divine masculine and how they relate to us inside.
So before we dive in,
I always want to center,
Pause and to breathe.
So if you're able to close your eyes,
Do so if you are driving or walking or any of the things that include your eyes being open,
Please keep them open.
And closing the eyes and noticing the inhale and the exhale.
Taking a deep inhale through the nose.
Exhale,
Let it go.
And as you pause here,
Notice the dance of today.
Notice maybe all that you want to get done,
All that you did do,
All that will be,
All that was.
And also notice how none of that matters in this moment,
In this moment of presence.
And then gently opening the eyes and coming back into the room in which you're in.
All right,
Let's get started.
So the divine feminine and the divine masculine.
These are kind of hot terms right now in the spiritual world.
They are not a trend.
They are a basic,
Fundamental,
Energetic blueprint of who we are as humans on this sacred ride.
And yes,
I could talk to you right now about the feminine and the masculine in spirituality.
I could talk to you about it out in the world in different ways.
But what I deeply believe is that we don't understand anything external until we understand it internally.
So we're going to take a look at the energy of the feminine and the masculine internally first and really create that foundation,
Strong self,
Sovereign self,
And understanding this duality that's inside.
And then we'll be able to see it outside.
So first,
I want to touch on,
You know,
The sacred dance is all about exploring polarities,
But not staying in the polarity.
So we as a society have stayed in the polarity of unbalanced masculine energy.
So this,
You know,
With energy comes balanced and unbalanced.
So we as a society have swung too far to the masculine side,
But also to the unbalanced,
The unhealthy,
The wounded masculine side.
And this has been shown in so many ways.
I don't know for how long we've been here,
But we have been here for quite some time.
So externally,
You know,
As a society,
It looks like continuous burnout,
Forcing,
Prioritizing doing,
Not honoring,
Not experiencing the sacred and the joyful.
Externally,
It looks like ruining.
I don't like to use the word ruining,
But depleting our feminine that holds us,
The planet.
Externally,
It looks like anxiety and depression on all time high.
And I'm not talking because of the virus in the moment.
I'm just talking,
You know,
Pre-virus too,
Right?
Like we have been in the state of perpetual force for too long.
And it also looks like burning out,
More nervous system related illness,
More,
Or I should say,
Yeah,
More uninspired humans,
More robotic in nature,
Right?
And that's what it looks like looks like externally.
Internally,
What it looks like when we are in this place of force,
In this place of unbalanced masculine energy,
What that looks like is burning out,
Is forcing,
Is pushing,
Is thinking you,
Me,
I,
Right,
Are in control.
And then if you let go,
It all crumbles.
It's experiencing things in the body and kind of pushing them aside because they're not important.
It looks like,
It could look like pain along the right side of the body.
It could,
You know,
Anxiety is a major wounded masculine component,
Telltale sign.
So here we are,
Right?
Okay.
We as a society have been in this unbalanced masculine energy.
And for so long,
I've always wondered who is society?
You know,
Do you ever think that?
Like I've always thought who the hell is society?
Like aren't we society?
Don't we make that up?
Don't we,
You know,
Don't we decide what's tomorrow?
And who you are today is a result of who you were yesterday.
So who you're being today supports who you're going to be tomorrow.
And if we as a society can look at who we're being today,
Does that support who we're going to be tomorrow?
Who we want to be tomorrow?
And I'm not just talking day,
I'm talking years,
Centuries,
You know,
Does it support who we want to be?
Because I'm kind of sick of people saying,
Oh,
That's society.
Society told me to do this,
So I do it.
You are a society.
You make it up.
You're part of it.
So let's break the societal norms.
Let's kind of shift the box of choosing to live in this wounded masculine,
Unbalanced masculine way.
And I want to share with you a bit of me and my journey because I was not this feminine flow that can easily find a sacred dance in life.
No,
I was the exact opposite,
Which is why I think I'm so passionate to speak on these subjects of exploration because I know what it's like to not want to explore,
What it's like to not be curious,
To be numbed,
To be forcing through life.
So back 2017,
I was in my first and last corporate job.
I was exploring teaching yoga on the side,
But I was done doing that.
I wanted more.
I wanted to fully step into my purpose of leading and teaching and experiencing life through the lenses of healing and not of wallpaper,
Which was where I was working in.
And I asked,
I opened my heart up and I remember saying,
I want to teach yoga full time.
I'm ready to live life in this intuitive soul led space,
Please,
Universe,
God,
Source,
Whatever you want to call that energy,
Please.
And two weeks later I got fired.
She's out.
She's out in the world.
All right.
Well,
That was very abrasive.
I needed that.
I needed to get my ass kicked a little bit to wake me up to,
Okay,
We want you to do this too,
Right?
You're in this dance with the universe.
God wants you to live in this way too.
Are you going to?
Set me down a rabbit hole of one of the worst and best years of my life.
My anxiety skyrocketed.
I was unemployed and I still made my days crippling.
I had more space than ever.
And I was freaked out because I never had space.
And in that space,
I was starting to get to know my feminine.
I was starting to get to know that I've been forcing my way through life.
I have been hustling,
Burning out,
Thinking that this ambitious fire in me is my savior.
But it was actually my weight.
It was my anchor down.
The ambitious fire in me didn't know how to value the feminine fluidity in me,
The one that wanted space,
The one that didn't want to force her way through life,
But was taught that's what we do.
So,
That's what I did,
Right?
And it was a wild,
Wild year.
So,
I had a wild anxiety to the point of I couldn't breathe normally throughout the day.
I was always breathing opposite.
I was in a constant state of panic.
Couldn't ever feel like I can take a full breath.
I would wake up thinking before my foot even stepped onto the floor,
What if I was passed out?
What if something bad happened?
Starting spinning into this anxious vortex energy that continued.
I,
You know,
Would try and meditate,
But I was dying inside in a way,
Right?
My insides were eating at me because my nervous system was in such a state of fight and flight,
Which is what happens when we come from a state of unbalanced masculine energy.
This perpetual state of fight and flight that we just can't calm down because we're always going,
We're always doing,
And it's just this kind of tremble that happens.
I couldn't walk into stores without having to run out sometimes.
I couldn't even look at people in the eyes.
I would be out to dinner with my man and I would be wondering,
I just can't wait to go home and lay down because then I'll know I'm safe.
It was horrible.
And days crying on the floor.
Not sure if I can drive to the local CVS to get something.
And I felt this way because I was trying to control life.
I asked to get fired,
Basically.
I got it.
I freaked out.
Now what?
I don't know what to do next.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Well,
Guess what?
No one knows.
We don't have it figured out,
Right?
And that's what we were taught to figure it out always,
To force and to create and,
You know,
Not even to create,
Just to do a different way.
But in that year,
I experienced my connection to God,
Source,
Whatever you want to call the energy,
And they're called Source.
I experienced that I probably won't ever know that I need to trust.
I need to surrender.
I need to allow my feminine to have a space,
Right?
I need to stop forcing my way through life,
Cutting off my connection to this wild feminine that's inside,
That's crying through this anxiety.
I had skin patches,
Like rash type of thing all over me.
My body was freaking out.
It was calling to me really is what it was.
It wasn't,
You know,
Fighting me.
It was crying to me to listen.
Listen to me.
Why do you keep doing this?
You don't feel better today because you're continuing to do the same thing.
And oh,
What a lesson.
What a lesson,
Right?
And maybe you've experienced this in some way where you've been kind of taught to go,
Kind of force.
Don't,
You know,
Kind of just like look down and keep going.
Something doesn't feel right,
Doesn't matter.
Keep going.
If you want to do something different for your career,
Maybe you can do it when you retire,
But not now.
Just keep going,
Right?
It's unsafe to create.
It's unsafe to be a creative person.
It's unsafe to find joy,
To be happy all the time.
Maybe you resonate with some of these things.
That's what my dialogue was.
It was shit.
It was so bad.
I can never,
I would never wish for anyone to be there.
On The Other Token,
There's so many of us that are still there,
Still are forcing our way through life,
That aren't experiencing the fullness,
The sacredness because we were taught not to.
Fuck that.
Throwing that away,
Right?
And I'm sure you're here because you want to find the sacred,
The fulfilling,
The joy,
And maybe you also are forcing your way through life.
So now what,
Right?
I saw,
I was forcing my way through life.
What did I do?
Well,
I continued until I broke,
Until I couldn't anymore.
And I discovered I need to do things differently.
So with that though,
The divine feminine and the divine masculine are a fluid movement,
A dance,
Right?
So when we think of the feminine,
Of course I didn't feel safe to explore myself,
To feel creative,
To feel joyful,
To feel connected to all those things because I didn't feel safe in my masculine.
I didn't feel safe in this container of my body.
So we can look at the feminine and the masculine energies as maybe the masculine is like a,
Well,
Let's use like a triangle structure,
Like a wooden structure,
Strong and sturdy.
And the feminine is the fluidity,
The movement,
That space in the triangle,
Right?
Just this,
And the masculine holds it because what if on the other token,
The masculine wasn't there,
It would just all be space.
Nothing would ground down.
And if there was too much masculine,
Like I experienced and we as a society are experiencing,
If there was too much,
There would be no space.
And this is the work of finding the sacred dance.
So we need to balance the masculine inside,
Right?
The balance needs to happen inside for us to see it externally.
We are a society,
Right?
So how do we balance?
The first thing is creating strong boundaries because we may think,
Oh,
We've over-boundaried ourself,
Right?
If we're in this unbalanced masculine way,
But I think actually our boundaries are crumpled because we don't know,
We just kind of are doing so much that we have a disconnection from our internal.
So I believe that the boundaries that we create are actually healthy,
Right?
Understanding what it's like when you say yes and understanding what it's like when you say no.
Making clear understandings of,
You don't always have to answer the phone calls or go to the events or do the things.
No,
You don't always have to work the same way.
Do things because you're told to do them a certain way.
You as a sovereign individual have the choice to break these programs that were taught to us.
So first we need to,
I invite you to create boundaries and the boundary could be even just starting inside first.
Don't try and boundary the external yet.
Boundary inside.
Your phone use.
When and how you eat.
How you work.
How you connect to source God energy.
How you,
You know,
Have self-care.
All those things kind of boundary yourself.
Learn and listen to your own internal boundaries.
When the body says no,
Listen.
When the body says yes,
Listen.
Because when you build this internal trust,
Then you can build external trust.
But not until then,
I think.
It will feel fully embodied.
So that's one way.
Second way is scheduling.
All right.
So with those boundaries come scheduling joy.
Scheduling things that excite you and looking at your schedule and looking at are you doing things because you think you should?
Are you doing things because that feels good?
And it's not about always feeling great,
Right?
But it's about noticing are you shitting yourself through the day?
Oh,
I should do this.
Oh,
I should do that.
Oh,
I should do this.
Or is there a part of it that's like,
I really wanted to write that part of my book today,
But I should do the laundry.
Oh,
I really wanted to bake that cake,
But I should work out,
Right?
Whatever the shoulds.
Are you shitting yourself through life?
Look at that.
The third thing.
The third thing here for you to do in balancing the masculine is acknowledging the body.
Again,
Write those boundaries inside.
It's about acknowledging where you have been going too far.
So taking a look at your days,
Your life and seeing where have I been forcing my way through,
Right?
Acknowledging honestly,
Radical honesty with yourself on how you can move forward.
But that doesn't happen until you look at how you have been perpetuating this program.
So first is creating boundaries inside and listening to them.
Two is connecting to the body.
And three,
Or no,
Sorry,
Two is scheduling and joy.
And three is becoming radically honest with yourself.
Where do you continue to perpetuate these things?
And really take a look at all areas.
And then,
Okay,
So we could balance the masculine,
Right?
Find the safety inside.
And now we got to liberate the feminine.
She is crying.
Mother earth is crying to us,
To listen,
To see her.
So is our internal feminine.
Our internal mother is crying to us,
To see her,
To feel her,
To experience her nurturing ability.
We don't have to do it on our own.
We don't.
So yeah,
How do we liberate the feminine?
So for me,
There was a lot of work with my physical body,
Right?
I was in yoga.
I was very linear.
But if we look at the energies,
Right,
The masculine is that linear straight line type of frequency,
Which for me,
Yoga perpetuated that straight linear motion.
Even though there's fluidity in there,
It's very linear.
The extremities don't often explore anything besides forward and back.
The feminine has more of that fluid motion.
So it's not contained in that straight line.
So for me,
How my journey towards liberation of the feminine in a balanced way,
Right?
We don't want to swing to the other end of unbalanced and just be flowing all the time and not have any structure because that's not healthy or supportive.
But the way that I found my liberation,
My feminine first was through dance,
Through movement that wasn't normal,
Quote unquote,
Or wasn't what I should be doing or my traditional yoga practice.
Maybe it was shaking my booty a certain way or letting my arms explore,
Letting me just run around the room in a way that like my little kid self would want to,
Right?
And really feeling this connection to the physical body.
So you can find,
So first is through movement,
Right?
The liberation comes,
This connection to her and exploring things that maybe feel so uncomfortable at first.
Lean right into that.
That's where the expansion is.
And then on the other side,
Looking at when was the last time you touched yourself?
And I don't mean like self-pleasure,
Which that's a part of this,
But literally when was the last time you just touched?
Not because you're putting on something,
But just because you wanted to experience physical touch.
When was the last time you crushed your hand,
Touched your cheeks,
Your lips,
Your throat,
Your chest?
When was the last time?
When was the last time that you self-pleasured,
Right?
That's a whole nother,
That'll be a whole nother podcast episode.
But our connection to our sensuality and our touch is a part of that sensuality is how the feminist felt,
Right?
So I want you to be your own best lover in some way,
Whether that's just massaging yourself,
Massaging areas that maybe feel uncomfortable to touch.
And then also looking at diving into your connection with your yoni space,
Right?
And if you're a man that's watching this,
You can still connect the same way,
But just touching the body,
Touching yourself in a way that maybe you're not used to,
Right?
But for the women who are listening,
Touching the areas of the body that you've been avoiding,
That you have been told to say for someone else to touch,
Right?
Be your own best lover.
So the third thing for your feminine energy to be liberated in some form is for you to create.
And we are all creatives.
We are all artists.
I don't care what anyone says.
We all have a sense of artistry in our life.
It could be with some paint.
It could be with baking.
It could be with gardening.
It could be with how we conversate and tell stories.
It could be at so many mediums.
But we again have pigeonholed creativity for those select,
Right?
My boyfriend is a amazing oil painter or artist,
I should say.
I'm not going to pigeonhole him into a box of creativity.
He's an amazing artist.
I felt tiny next to him.
I was like,
I can't do that.
I'm not creative.
He's the creative one.
Well,
That just shut a girl down,
Shut down the creativity that was trying to percolate through me.
And yeah,
Maybe I don't create with the same way that he does.
But I can still create through song,
Dance,
Chanting,
Writing,
Cooking,
Baking,
Right?
And my medium for creation is different all the time.
I let it kind of flow through.
And it took time to let myself find the importance in it,
Right?
Because the reason that we aren't exploring these creative ideas that come in,
Whether it's like writing something down,
Journaling,
Whether it's painting something,
Is because we don't think it's important.
We don't think that's a priority.
We think the shoulds are a priority.
So honoring your feminine,
Liberating your feminine can happen through liberating your creativity,
Connecting to your body and moving in ways that aren't so robotic,
Right?
We drive straight,
Like linear,
I should say.
We open doors,
Linear.
We practice yoga,
Linear.
We work out,
Linear,
Right?
When was the last time you explored different planes of existence in your physical body?
You experience flow in your body.
And I invite you to explore that,
Right?
And as we explore these areas in ourself,
Right,
Notice it wouldn't feel really good if all day you just kind of laid around and just like creative and ran around and had no idea what time it was.
It would feel ungrounded.
So notice when you start to do this exploration inside,
How can you find the balance,
Right?
So you can find the balance,
The dance between these two by scheduling in creativity time.
And that schedule block will allow the creativity to flow in.
I know it sounds counterintuitive,
But again,
It needs that structure to have the space for it to be expressed.
And also you can find that balance through noticing,
Right?
Where in your day are you too restrictive or when are you too expansive,
Right?
Kind of taking a look at how can you honor both sides of yourself every day.
And it's not like an all day event.
We are humans that have tasks and roles to take part in,
Right?
Some of us are mothers,
Fathers,
Caretakers.
How can you honor this?
And maybe all you have time for is swirling your hips around while you brush your teeth to connect to your feminine.
Maybe all you have time for is structuring a few minutes for something that you've been wanting to do,
But just have been avoiding,
Right?
It's about taking a look at how we can incorporate the feminine and the masculine in every day because they're there every day.
And the more we choose to honor the balance,
The dance that's happening inside,
I feel the more fulfilled and joyful and spacious and exciting life can feel because I'm never really that bored because there's always something to explore,
Right?
But I used to be really bored.
I used to be really numbed because I didn't understand the importance of exploring.
I didn't understand.
I didn't value it.
I valued the monotonous,
The things that didn't excite me.
Well,
That was my reality,
Anxious and unexcited.
And the more we can find this dance within ourselves,
The dance of the feminine and masculine,
And especially for women,
Liberating your feminine energy right now is crucial for the rise of the feminine on the planet.
The feminine is rising externally,
Which we'll dive into in a different space,
But we need to acknowledge that because she,
Again,
Mother Earth is calling out and we have as women or however you identify your gender,
We as feminine beings,
We have been suppressed,
Quieted,
Told not to,
Too much,
Too little.
And now is your time to take up that space that you crave deep in your bones,
To say the things that are deep in your bones,
To have those healthy structures for yourself to feel wildly expressed in your life.
Now is your time to rise into it,
To step into it.
So I am so grateful that you have tuned in to the sacred dance.
