Slowing down the breath now,

Let's breathe in for eight counts.

Hold for eight counts.

Breathe out for eight counts and hold for eight counts.

Let's start with the exhale.

Breathe out.

Continue with this pattern and stay connected to your breath.

When you sit in silence,

Even the breath can sound loud.

The space between the breath is still.

Yet somehow deeply expansive.

It reminds me of being on a swing.

When you reach the highest point and hover for just an instant before gravity pulls you back down.

The space between the breath is a place of great potential.

You know the next breath is coming.

But if you pay close enough attention and allow yourself to sink into it.

There is a restfulness in that space between the breath.

It is deeply grounding and restorative.
