This quick meditation helps you decompress from looking at a screen all day. Using a vagus nerve activation technique to relieve pressure and naturally bring the body to homeostasis, the mind will follow. Designed to create separation in your day from intense time with computer or phone screens into the real world. Perfect for those working on a computer all day or just need to wind down from their "work time" into their "me time".

Transcript

Let's begin by arriving in your comfortable meditation position.

Settle into your seat or whether you're laying on your back,

Make sure your low back is nice and supported.

If it's safe to you,

Close down the eyes and just let yourself drop in,

Dedicating the next few minutes to you and your well-being.

Wherever you have settled into,

Start by bringing the thumbs to the inner corner of your eyebrows and gently press in there.

You might feel an instant pressure relief as this activates the vagus nerve.

Then wrap your other fingers around the upper ridge of your eyebrows and apply gentle pressure to your skull.

As you add pressure,

Feel your head decompressing all the tension that resides here.

Softly breathe and melt away the stress,

The screens flashing in your mind.

Release the hands and set them softly in your lap or across your belly.

With the eyes still closed,

Draw your awareness into your breath with a mindful and gentle grasp on the breath.

Begin to breathe in at your right fingertips,

Up your right arm,

Across your right shoulder,

And into your right nostril.

Breathe out,

Sending breath out the left nostril,

Across the left shoulder,

Down the left arm,

And out the left fingertips.

Breathe in through your right arm.

Hold the breath at the third eye center.

Exhale through your left arm,

Letting go,

Releasing.

Take a few rounds of this breath,

In through the right,

And out through the left.

Now on your next breath in through the right,

Breathe in vitality,

Joy,

And purpose.

Breathe out on the left,

Stagnancy,

Stale energy,

And the whole day that was behind you.

Continue to breathe in anything you need on the right,

And release anything you're ready to let go on the left.

Finish up your last round of breath,

Ending on the left.

Let go of the breath completely.

Sit and notice any changes within you.

Now in your mind's eye,

See the screen you've been looking at all day begin to crack,

Relieving pressure inside your cranium,

Setting you free into the real world.

As this screen disintegrates and falls away,

The contents of it disappear,

And all that's left is your headspace.

Open,

Pure,

And calm.

See what grows in this headspace when you let your imagination run wild,

Letting it run far from the mundane,

Far from the reality we perceive on the screen.

Simply let the headspace be.

Simply notice what images,

Visions,

Textures,

Colors pop up.

No need to linger on it for too long,

Allowing the next vision to grow and pop up.

Gently breathe back into your body.

Align your consciousness to the ground beneath you,

The space that you're in.

Give yourself a few sweet moments to arrive back in the present.

When you hear the last resonant sound of the bell,

This meditation is now complete.
