Wherever you are,
Whatever you are doing right now,
Whatever is going on in your day,
Let's take a moment to pause,
To reconnect and to nourish our body,
Our heart and our mind.
Take a deep breath and on the exhale,
Just allow the air to release slowly,
Listen to the sound of your exhalation,
Let's take another breath and this time see if there's a sigh that wants to come,
A whole body sigh to release whatever you've been carrying today,
Let's do that one more time and notice how you can allow your body to soften just a little bit to rest into whatever surface,
Chair,
Cushion,
Bed,
Floor,
You're sitting,
Standing or lying on.
See if you can give the full weight of your body to the support that is there,
Letting gravity hold you,
Letting gravity take some of the holding that you've been doing from you so that you can just drop in.
Notice how your face feels and as you continue to breathe in whatever way your breath naturally wants to move,
See if you can bring a little bit of softness into your face,
Relaxing the jaw,
Relaxing the eyes,
Releasing any tension that you feel in your cheeks,
In your mouth,
Relaxing the tongue in your mouth and as you take your next breath,
See if you can let the shoulders drop a little,
Let the weight of the arms simply hang from the shoulders,
Let your hands unclench,
Let your fingers just curl the way they naturally wish to curl in this moment.
See if you can make a little bit more space in your chest as you inhale so that your heart has a bit more room to be,
To breathe.
See if you can soften and let go of any holding in the area of your belly so that the breath can fully move in and out of this area around the stomach.
Feel the weight and shape of your hips and soften the knees so that you can give this weight even more to the ground.
If you're standing,
See if you can soften the soles of your feet as if you're resting on beautiful grass or a sandy beach.
If you're sitting or lying down,
Just doing the same with any parts of your body that are touching the ground,
Imagining you're sinking into the softness of a meadow.
Simply taking a few breaths here,
Noticing how it is to be here in this moment where things are just as they are right now and we allow them to be.
Bringing your awareness back into the body if you've gone off into thoughts.
Sensing the beautiful long length of your spine,
You might want to move the spine slightly so you can really feel the entire length from the tailbone all the way up to the place where the neck meets the head.
Just bringing whatever gentle movement feels good in this moment through the spine.
You can let your head become an extension of the spine and gently move.
Let it roll from one shoulder to the other and then bring your hands together,
Rub them against each other to create some heat and then place your palms over your eyes,
Enjoying a moment of the warms of your hands over your eyes and rub the hands again.
Place your hands over your ears,
Noticing how it feels to have the warms of your hands there.
You might like to start to massage your earlobes,
Pulling with your fingers on the lower part of the earlobe and then making your way up along the rim of the ear all the way to the top,
Squeezing and pressing,
Finding the ways that feel good for you.
And when you feel complete with that,
Just taking a moment to sense into your being.
What do you notice?
What state are you in right now?
When you feel ready,
Slowly opening the eyes,
Letting the world come to you.
Have a good rest of your day after this little mini break.
