This is a 4 minute breathing space. An opportunity to return to the present moment by connecting to your breath and body. In this breathing space I invite you to take a moment for yourself, to pause, to have a break and to calm down your mind and your body. It is also an invitation to focus on what you may need after your practice, so you can take better care of yourself.

Welcome to this breathing space.

A chance for you to take a pause,

To reset,

To recalibrate and tune into the present moment,

To anchor yourself,

To ground yourself,

To find calm between what's happening right now and what's coming up next.

So get comfortable wherever you are,

Whether you're sitting or lying down and gently begin to tune into your breathing.

Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth for the first three breaths.

Once you've done your three deep breaths,

Begin to breathe in through your nose and out through your nose if possible for you.

And that's where we will start today by focusing on the breath.

So as you breathe in through your nose,

Really tune into the air coming into the body and tune into the air on the exhale,

Leaving the body.

Tuning into the breath and noticing how it makes you feel.

I now invite you to focus on the body as you continue with this breath cycle.

Bring attention to your body now and firstly how it's moving as you breathe in and out.

Perhaps feeling the chest rise on the inhale and the chest fall on the exhale.

Perhaps tuning into any tightness or any tension in the body.

No judgment here,

We're just observing and taking note.

Perhaps tuning into the tension in the jaw and loosening there.

Noticing how you're holding your body.

Rolling the shoulders back.

Relieving tension across those tight parts.

As we move into the final stage,

Bringing attention now to the breath and the body as one.

So as you breathe in deeply,

Really connecting and imagining the whole breath filling the body.

And really connecting and feeling to the whole breath leaving the body.

And now in the final few moments,

I want you to think about what you need now after this pause to continue to support yourself.

Try to give yourself that at the earliest possibility.

But for now,

Be proud of yourself taking this moment to come back to the breath and to the body.

So in the next few moments,

Just gently opening the eyes if you have them closed,

Coming back into the space around you slowly.

And just taking a moment before moving into the rest of your day.
