I belong here.

I know that that can be hard to hear,

Because somewhere inside it's hard to believe.

And no amount of accolades will make us believe.

That's something that has to come from within ourselves.

Let's nurture that together here,

In this moment.

Hello and welcome to this meditation for those of us experiencing imposter syndrome.

I am Kambi Dugas,

Your guide for this time.

Thank you for being here,

For taking the time to care for yourself,

Especially a part of you that you may find it difficult to admit.

As a leader,

Even as a most powerful and successful human,

You cannot quite bring yourself to say in full voice,

I belong here.

Take a deep breath with me,

And sigh it out.

Ahhh.

If you have not already,

Please make sure you're in a quiet and comfortable space,

Where you will not be disturbed for the length of this meditation.

Feel free to be in one of your most favorite postures.

Seated,

Reclining,

Or lying down.

You may be feeling some kind of exhaustion,

So I understand.

You may need to have the full weight of your body supported,

And that means lying down.

If you fall asleep,

That's all right.

Circle back again,

For the benefits of being awake during this meditation.

On the other hand,

Checking in with yourself,

You may be feeling quite tense,

Balled up on the inside,

From working so hard to hold it all together.

If you can,

Expand from that ball.

There's nothing to hold together here.

Unwind.

Unwrap yourself.

With our breathing,

Let's guide our bodies to give into relaxation.

Let's do five deep breath cycles.

Our exhales will be longer than our inhales.

You're going to hold at the top and the bottom of each part of a breath cycle,

And the holds will become longer as we go along.

Inhale.

Hold.

Exhale.

Inhale.

Hold.

Inhale.

Hold.

Exhale.

Hold.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Exhale.

Inhale.

Exhale.

That's five.

I think I lost count.

I'm not sure.

Now,

Imagine a golden,

Yet clear light all around you.

It also concentrates at the top of your head,

Where your crown energy center is.

Open your crown to allow the light to enter your being.

I just want to take one more deep breath cycle right here.

Inhale deeply,

Expanding the belly as much as possible.

Inhale.

Exhale.

So this golden,

Yet clear light is shining all around you.

It's concentrated at the top of your head,

At your crown.

You have opened your crown to allow the light to enter your being.

Now join with the light to push all of your mental energy,

Where we hang out in our head most of the time.

Now push all of this mental energy down through your energy centers,

Down through your heart,

Through your gut,

Into your hips,

Legs,

And feet,

Down into the earth to ground you.

Then beyond the surface of the earth,

All the way to its core,

Mixing there in the depths of the earth with the earth's energy,

Its most powerful,

Powerful energy at its core.

And then we're going to bring all of that energy mixed together back up through the earth,

Through your feet,

Legs,

Hips,

Gut,

Heart,

And your crown.

You are now connected above and below.

And breathe.

Next we invite a spirit guide to join you.

If you're familiar with a spirit guide,

Ask that one.

Or ask to meet a new one.

Or if this is a new concept for you,

A spirit guide can be a known or unknown ancestor to you in this lifetime.

It can be a favorite animal,

Our so-called domestic animals,

Or one that we might find in the so-called wild.

It could be an angel.

Allow whatever comes up for you in this moment as a spirit guide to be that.

It's a presence that is confident,

Strong,

Caring,

Capable,

And well-resourced.

That's the presence to ask to be and walk with you during this meditation.

Ask your spirit guide to cleanse your aura of anything that is not helpful to or for you.

Next,

Ask your spirit guide to protect you with anything that will make you feel safe.

It could be a blanket,

A weighted blanket.

It could be mist,

Smoke,

Or a diamond-like structure surrounding you.

Whatever it is,

Your spirit guide has it easily within reach.

And with this protection,

You know without a doubt that nothing and no one can harm you.

Now that you're grounded,

Cleansed,

And protected,

Ask your spirit guide to accompany us.

I'd like for you to think back to a time when you felt your most kind.

Sure of yourself from within.

You feel this way because you say so.

You know so.

And if anyone else feels this way too,

Well,

You know,

That's just extra.

What's around you there?

Are you in a room or outside?

What colors do you see?

Are there pictures,

Furniture,

Special trees,

Flowers,

Plants?

Are there people?

Is it a special occasion?

Do you have on special clothing?

Is it a particular event?

What are you doing there?

Other than your confidence,

How do you feel in that moment?

Now do me a favor and find a tree.

If you've been inside,

Go outside and look around for the most majestic,

Beautiful tree that you have ever seen.

It's just right over there.

It's so beautiful.

It feels magical.

Next to the tree is your favorite,

Most gorgeous container.

Inside are supplies.

There are hooks and shimmering threads and objects that represent this time of being super self-confident,

Completely because of what you know about yourself.

Take these pretty objects and hang them on this majestic tree.

I'll give you some moments to do this.

And breathe.

Now,

With your spirit guide next to you,

Turn and walk in the opposite direction to the first time you can remember feeling like an imposter in your successful situation.

What's around you there?

Are you in a room or outside?

What colors do you see?

What fragrances do you smell?

Are you touching anything?

How does it feel?

Are there pictures,

Furniture,

Trees,

Flowers,

Plants?

Are there people?

Is it a special occasion?

Do you have on particular clothing?

Is it a special event?

What are you doing there?

Other than your fear,

How do you feel in that moment?

Look down at the ground.

All around you are objects that represent the feelings and imagined thoughts attached to what was going on when you first felt like an imposter in your successful situation.

The objects represent fear,

Anxiety,

Doubt,

Imagined worst-case scenarios,

What you thought other people must be thinking,

Unrealistic expectations of you as a human being,

And possibly more.

All of these objects are at your feet.

Now look up and look back at the tree.

Look at the objects on the ground again.

Which do you want to be a part of your life going forward?

If you choose the tree,

Are you ready to let go of the emotions and imagined thoughts?

If you are not ready,

Pause the meditation and ask your spirit guide to take you back out of this meditation gradually.

Thank them and come back.

I'll be right here when you come back to start again when you're ready.

If you are ready,

Even if you're scared,

But you're ready,

Gather up all of these objects on the ground,

As many as you can hold.

There's a cliff just over there that you haven't seen before.

It's above a waterfall.

Go over to the cliff.

You're safe.

You're grounded.

Release all of the objects from your arms and your hands.

Release them over the cliff.

Just let them fall.

As they hit the cascading waterfall,

The water washes them away.

If there are more objects on the ground,

Gather them up and do the same thing as many times as you need in order to clear the ground and you of all these emotions and imagined thinking.

Here are a few moments if you need them.

If you need more time,

Pause the meditation to gather up all the rest of the objects.

And breathe.

Now,

Return to the tree.

You notice it's brighter.

The objects you placed on its branches are glimmering.

And so are you.

Sit beneath the tree.

Your spirit guide sits with you,

Opening a basket of your favorite healthy treats and beverages.

Resting here under the tree,

Adorned with your confidence,

You bask in all this energy,

Absorbing all of it.

It is you.

This energy is you,

And you are this energy.

Here are a few minutes.

Take it all in.

Reflect,

If you wish,

What you may want to write or draw or otherwise document in your journal.

Enjoy your treats and beverages with your spirit guide.

And if any other spirit guides show up here,

I wouldn't be surprised.

Enjoy it all.

And again,

If you need more time,

Pause the meditation.

It's time now to return.

No rush.

Take time to thank your spirit guide and any of the other spirit guides that may have shown up.

And return fully to yourself,

To your body.

Begin by wiggling your toes and fingers.

If you want to rub them together,

Clasp them together,

Feel where your skin is.

Slowly open your eyes and notice the objects all around you.

I belong here.

I hope at the end of this time hearing this receives much easier.
