This is a meditation for you for when you feel you need clarity.
Take a moment to settle in either in a seated position or lying down.
That's fine,
Too.
And allow yourself to stretch,
Particularly around your shoulders and neck and upper back,
Letting yourself become comfortable and relaxed.
And then we'll just follow our breath,
Watching as the breath comes in and out again,
Perhaps opening our ears to the sound of our beautiful breath.
Always an ally,
Always there for us.
And then on the next inhale,
Pull light from above your head down through your head,
Neck,
Arms,
Torso,
Legs,
And feet.
And continue pulling the light from overhead down through your body,
Pulling down on the inhale and letting it go through the soles of your feet on the exhale.
And as you do,
You may find places that hold pain or tension.
And if so,
Pause there and gather up any old feelings of old mentors or teachers,
Colleagues or partners who let you down in some way did not hold up their end of the bargain,
Did not fully appreciate who you are,
Did not treat you equally or express respect or gratitude for your work and pull all of these memories and feelings together into a tight ball.
You might think of it as a ball of tightly wound yarn,
Holding all the past fibers together.
And now I want you to take a very deep breath in and on the exhale,
Expel this ball of memories.
Do that a few more times until you really feel a release.
Exhale through the mouth,
Letting it go.
Once more,
Just to make sure that it's gone.
We'll take a few more cleansing breaths of light,
Breathing in through the nose,
Pulling the light down through the head and exhaling down to the bottom of the feet,
Pulling light in,
Letting it wash through us,
Opening to the light and letting it go where it needs to go.
Yesterday in our reading from Luce Arriguere,
She talked about the revenge and resentment that generates itself in the teaching profession,
So I created this exercise for you so that you could locate the memories and feelings of your own revenge,
Resentment,
History,
And have something simple to use as a release.
And as I talk about this,
There may be other emotions or physical feelings that you're locating now at a deeper level that had been buried before you brought up these memories.
And so let's do another breathing exercise.
First,
Wind these up,
Locate them.
This time,
Think of them as clay.
Use your hands.
Get your fingernails dirty.
Really dig all that up.
The resentment for not having the power,
For being taught that you didn't have power,
For giving away your power,
For having power used over you,
For not allowing yourself to shine in your power.
Dig all of that up like tough,
Wet mud into a nice,
Tight ball,
And then a deep breath in and exhale through your mouth,
Throwing that ball away.
Continue doing this.
Inhale through the nose,
Exhale and throw the resentment.
Inhale through the nose and let it go.
Feel it going further outside the realm of gravity.
Far,
Far away to be recycled in a far corner of the universe.
And then we'll bring light down from the top of our head through an inhale.
And as we breathe out,
Wash the light through the body and out the tip of the toes,
Breathing in light from above,
Letting the light cleanse and heal us to the bottom of our feet.
Let yourself rest in the clarity that you have created.
Then we'll sit together silently for a minute because Luce Arrigueres also says that when we release this revenge and resentment cycle,
We can open to listening in a new way.
So take this opportunity now in the space of clarity that you've created in your mind,
Body and spirit to listen.

Where are you ready to go now with your work?
What are the words that are waiting for you to write them?
What lessons have you come here to learn?
What have you come here to teach?
You are ready.
You are clear.
You can do that now.
I believe in you.
We believe in you.
We believe in each other.
Go,
Write,
Teach,
Be.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be safe.
