This meditation expands upon my previous meditation, 'Thought Awareness'. Delve into your mind, understand the layers of thought experiences occurring in there. We can observe the thoughts that the mind creates. Meditate on this concept daily to further understand and unscramble the mind. This practice has become immensely useful for me, someone who is anxious and seems to always have a mind running away with me! I pause, breathe, observe my thoughts, and let them pass. Welcome to this thought awareness meditation.

In this meditation,

We will be bringing in a mantra.

Bring yourself into a seat,

Find stillness in the body,

Relax into your posture so you can turn your attention to the mind.

Begin to observe your current thoughts.

Do not try to stop them or slow them down or manage them.

Just allow them to come as they are,

Simply noticing them,

Observing them.

Now become aware that if you are the one observing your thoughts,

Then who is the one creating your thoughts?

The mind creates thoughts constantly and the you that makes you you can observe these thoughts.

Sit with that for a moment,

Really letting it sink in.

The fact that you are the observer of your thoughts,

Not the creator of your thoughts.

With this realization,

Let's bring in a mantra for this meditation to practice this awareness.

As you watch your thoughts,

State in your mind,

I am the observer.

Repeat this mantra over and over coming back to it whenever you wander away from it.

Continue to observe your thoughts without judgment,

Just practicing watching them.

Keep repeating over and over in your mind.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

If your mind wanders back into the continuous narrative,

That train of thoughts,

Don't judge it.

It is what it is used to simply bring it back out,

Stating I am the observer and begin again to observe and watch your thoughts as they pass.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

Bring yourself back into this present moment,

Away from the observer mindset,

Away from the creator mindset,

And simply listen to my voice.

Continue to come back to this meditation to practice this observation exercise.

And whenever you find yourself through your day,

As an outsider,

Looking at your thoughts,

Pause and remind yourself,

I am the observer.

I am the observer.

Thank you for meditating with me today.
