This is the 6th and final discussion on Myth #4 that it takes years to benefit from a meditation practice. In this discussion, I explain that with patience and a loving attitude towards yourself the myth is definitely debunked. If you don't try, how will you ever know?

Hello and good day.

It's Christy and today is our fourth and final discussion on the limiting beliefs,

Keeping one from finding success in life through a daily meditation practice.

And that limiting belief is it takes years to benefit.

At least that's what I've been told.

And our present reality,

Which focuses a lot on instant gratification,

The right now,

The next day delivery service,

Who wants to practice patience?

I mean,

It's hard enough to practice patience with our loved ones,

With our co-workers,

With changing ourselves and then add it to learning something new with uncertainty of its actual benefits and can lead to procrastination and discouragement.

I'd like to use weight loss as an example because I would venture to guess that at least 75% of you listening to this have started some type of diet change or workout routine to assist in losing weight and or building muscle.

The first few days or weeks you don't feel or see much of a change.

And it's difficult to change and control eating patterns,

Right?

When you aren't used to being mindful of how many calories you're consuming daily or the types of foods that you're eating.

Are you spending hours at the gym unsure if you're doing the exercises correctly,

Ending up with sore muscles and tons of sweat,

Which by the way is good for you,

Sweating that is.

And then frustration sets in and that frustration in the mind tries to sabotage your efforts.

For the first few weeks,

If not months of a daily meditation practice,

You generally become just as frustrated.

I hear and have said myself,

I can't stop thinking about everything.

I forgot to meditate today.

I don't want to meditate.

I would rather scroll through my phone or watch TV,

Something mindless.

Am I doing this correctly?

I don't feel any different.

I don't see or feel a change.

There's no point.

It's super easy to give up.

However,

With persistence and patience,

One morning you put on your pants and they are super loose or you sit in a meditation and you are aware of and you can guide yourself into releasing tension in your shoulders.

And just like that,

A feeling of success overshadows the old feelings of uncertainty and defeat.

You are responsible for your truth.

If you make a choice of a goal,

Are consistent and honest with yourself about your intentions,

And most importantly,

Don't beat yourself up when you fall short.

You will prove to yourself that the choices you make become habits and those habits become you and your new reality.

I ask you,

Make a promise to yourself to dedicate and then try not to undermine your promise with excuses or a veil of lies.

And little by little,

You will start to become more conscious of your thoughts,

Your actions and the way that you are feeling.

Then this will cause a ripple effect for present moment peace and clarity,

Which will certainly provide long term life pattern changes.

And hey,

If you don't try,

You will never know.

So this concludes our course and I am so grateful for your time and dedication to your own life success and that you would take the time with me.

Now before we leave each other,

Let's take some time to focus on our breath.

Get yourself comfortable by either laying or sitting down.

And breathe in through your nostrils.

Slowly.

And exhale.

Again,

Breathing in through your nostrils.

Pausing slightly.

Then exhaling slowly.

Breathing in.

Exhale.

Your mind starts to think about things.

Just gently directed back to the inhale and exhale of your breath.

If you'd like,

You can count your inhales to three as you inhale.

And as you exhale,

You can count your inhales to four as you exhale.

This will allow you to stay focused and exhaling out.

Breathing in.

And exhaling out.

Focusing on your breath is a beautiful way to become in tune with yourself and your life being.

I wish you peace.

Please continue.

Thank you.
