Welcome,
As you prepare to begin this meditation please allow yourself to land softly creating a gentle and nurturing space for your inner experience.
This is a time to simply be,
To release the grip of doing and to reconnect with the quiet truth within you.
There's no need to rush,
No need to force any particular feeling and certainly no need to push yourself beyond what feels comfortable or safe.
You are simply invited to be here exactly as you are with all that is present within you without needing to change a single thing.
Allow yourself to settle into a comfortable position,
Whether you are lying down,
Reclining or seated,
Find a posture that feels supportive and allows for ease in your body.
Feel the support beneath you,
The gentle embrace of the earth,
Your bed or the surface holding your body.
Let go of any need to hold yourself up,
To maintain a specific posture or to brace against any sensation.
Allow gravity to take the weight of your body,
Releasing it down into the support beneath you.
Take a gentle breath in,
Feeling the air expand your lungs,
A nourishing intake and then a soft breath out.
Allowing everything to release,
A quiet sigh of letting go.
Inhale,
Exhale,
Let your breath find its own natural effortless rhythm without any conscious attempt to alter it.
Simply notice that you are breathing and that life is flowing through you,
Continuously and effortlessly.
As you continue to breathe,
Allow this simple act of noticing your breath to be your soft cue,
Your gentle invitation to shift your attention fully into presence.
Let your breath anchor you here in this moment,
In this body,
Where the truth of your being resides.
Each inhale brings you more fully into the now and each exhale helps you to release anything that might be distracting you from it.
Now let's gently reflect on the nature of self-judgment.
We all experience it,
Those critical thoughts that tell us we're not good enough,
Not doing enough,
Or that we've somehow fallen short.
It can feel deeply personal,
Like a fundamental truth about who we are.
But consider this,
Self-judgment is just another form of busy thought.
It's mental activity,
A stream of interpretations and stories that our mind creates about ourselves.
It's often a habitual pattern,
Learned over time,
Rather than an accurate reflection of your inherent worth.
These judging thoughts are like clouds in the sky of your awareness.
They drift through,
Sometimes dark and heavy,
Sometimes light and fleeting,
But they are still just clouds.
They don't diminish the vastness or the unchanging nature of the sky itself.
And you,
The awareness that notices these thoughts,
You are the big beautiful sky.
You are not the judgment.
You are not the floor.
You are the spaciousness that holds it all.
There's no need to fight these thoughts,
To suppress them,
Or to try to convince yourself otherwise.
Simply observe them,
Acknowledge their presence,
And gently let them pass.
This very act of non-resistance begins to soften their power.
We often believe that self-love is something we have to cultivate through effort,
Something we earn by achieving certain goals or changing aspects of ourselves.
Maybe we think,
If I'm successful enough,
Then I'll love myself.
Or if I fix this flaw,
Then I'll be worthy of self-love.
But gently consider a different truth.
Love is not something we become.
It's not something we get.
It's something we remember.
It's what we already are.
Love is your inherent nature,
Your foundational truth.
It's the same universal intelligence that beats your heart,
Grows your hair,
And orchestrates the natural world.
It's the innate well-being that resides within you.
Always present,
Always available,
Always unwavering.
This fundamental love doesn't need to be earned.
It's your birthright.
It's a truth that exists beneath all the layers of self-judgment,
Fear,
And conditioning.
Allow yourself to rest in this understanding,
To let this truth gently permeate your being.
Now,
Invite breath and body awareness to support a deepening sense of safety and presence.
Feel your breath flowing in and out of your body,
A continuous connection to life.
As you inhale,
Imagine drawing in a sense of unconditional acceptance and kindness.
As you exhale,
Imagine releasing any remnants of judgment,
Any tightening around your perceived imperfection.
Let your breath be gentle,
A rhythmic reminder of your inherent worth.
Bring your attention to your physical body.
Feel the gentle rise and fall of your abdomen with each breath.
Notice the subtle sensations in your chest,
Perhaps a feeling of warmth or quiet openness.
Move your awareness to your hands,
Often the tools of doing and striving.
Allow them to soften,
To rest,
To simply be.
Feel the weight of your body supported by the surface beneath you,
A profound sense of safety and being held.
This body is a vessel of life,
And it deserves your love and kindness exactly as it is,
Without needing to be perfect or different.
This practice isn't about ignoring challenges or denying difficult emotions.
It's about recognizing that beneath the surface of all your experiences,
The challenging thoughts,
The uncomfortable feelings,
The stories of not enough,
There is a constant,
Unwavering clarity,
Peace and warmth.
This is your true nature,
Accessible simply by shifting your attention away from the noise and towards the stillness that is always present.
Allow yourself to rest in this understanding.
You don't need to do anything to achieve this state.
It's already here.
You don't need to think differently to experience kindness towards yourself.
It's your natural way of being,
Remembering itself.
The peace you seek is not outside of you.
It lives within you,
An ever-present resource.
As we gently bring this meditation to a close,
Let yourself simply rest in your being.
There's nothing you need to achieve,
Nothing you need to fix,
Nothing you need to improve about yourself right now.
You are already whole.
You are already enough.
You are already loved.
Allow yourself to sink deeper into this profound acceptance.
Feel the unwavering support beneath you,
Holding you gently.
Let your breath continue to carry you effortlessly.
In this moment,
Simply be.
Rest in the inherent truth of your worth,
In the unwavering presence of your inner being.
You are complete just as you are.
And that is a powerful and liberating truth to carry with you into your day,
Guiding you from within.
This peace and self-love is not a fleeting emotion.
It is the fundamental ground of your existence,
Always available for you to return to,
Simply by pausing and remembering.
And as this meditation draws to a close,
Know that you can return to this space whenever you need.
We all forget sometimes.
We get caught up in thoughts,
In doing,
In striving.
But this presence,
This peace,
This truth,
It hasn't gone anywhere.
It's always here,
Waiting quietly beneath the noise.
You don't have to do anything special to find your way back.
Just a pause,
Just a breath,
Just a remembering.
So when you're ready,
Gently begin to bring your awareness back to the room around you.
Let your fingers move a little.
Wiggle your toes.
Perhaps take a slightly deeper breath.
And as you move into the rest of your day,
Carry this knowing with you.
That you are already whole.
Already enough.
Already loved.
Thank you for taking this time to be with yourself.
And remember,
You can return here anytime.
