This brief meditation is an opportunity to grow your awareness of your body in order to connect more deeply with the present and the natural world around you, as well as yourself. You'll practice noticing the sensations of your skin in connection with the space around you and how it affects the space within you - your thoughts - your emotions. It's an opportunity to get to know who you are in relation to where you are. It's an invitation to heighten your awareness, with the intention of cultivating a sense of ease and connectedness.

Welcome back.

My name is Laura and this is Cultivate Your Wellness.

In today's meditation,

We're going to connect with our body in order to connect with the present and the natural world around us.

Noticing the sensations and what's going on around us can bring us more deeply connected with this experience we're having here,

With who we are and what's going on around us,

Heightening our experience,

Heightening our awareness,

Bringing a sense of calm and bringing a sense of connectedness to all that is.

Let's begin.

Close your eyes if that feels good and take a deep breath in and let it out,

Inviting your body to soften and just to be still for a few moments here,

Offering this time just for you to explore how you exist in the present.

Noticing the breath,

Feeling the air as it goes in and out and letting your breath go in and out at a natural rhythm,

One that feels good for you,

And turning your attention to your skin.

Noticing the temperature of the space you're in,

Noticing any sensations you feel.

Is it warm or cold?

Is there a breeze or humidity in the air?

Trying not to judge these sensations,

Not labeling them good or bad,

Just noticing what is your skin feeling?

And now bringing your attention a little bit deeper if you can.

How does your body react to those sensations?

Still not labeling it good or bad,

Just noticing what is your body's natural reaction to the temperature around you.

Staying in that stillness,

Staying with the breath,

Cultivating our awareness and going even deeper in that awareness.

How do the emotions react to that temperature?

Still not labeling it good or bad.

What comes up in response to these sensations?

What thoughts?

What reactions?

Staying a moment longer with this awareness.

If you become distracted,

Return to the breath,

Your ever-present anchor.

Return to your awareness.

Noticing this as an opportunity to be connected with your internal environment and the external environment around you,

Just through the skin.

Noticing how you respond.

Give you a few more moments to explore and call you back when it's time.

And beginning to draw your attention back out,

Preparing yourself to begin again in your day,

Taking in another deep and cleansing breath and thanking your body for this experience in the present,

Remembering that you can return to this space and the relationship that you're cultivating with yourself anytime you want,

Anytime you feel you need to reconnect.

Whenever you're ready,

Inviting in gentle movements,

Stretching if that feels good and opening your eyes again.

Thank you for this opportunity as always to guide you today.

I appreciate you.

I hope you'll return again soon.

Bye for now.
