Today,
We are going to take a journey together to meet and embrace every part of who you are.
Why don't we start with a long,
Slow,
Deep inhale,
And slowly release that.
Nestle in,
Get comfortable.
When you feel ready,
Drop your gaze or gently allow your eyes to close.
And I want you to imagine that you're walking into a party.
There are lots of people all around you.
All different people,
All different personalities,
Mingling and moving through the space.
Perhaps some part of you wonders if you belong.
Maybe you feel a little bit uncomfortable.
So,
Instead of joining them,
You notice a staircase nearby.
You walk over to those stairs and begin to climb.
One step at a time,
Feeling your hand on the railing,
Moving upward until you reach the top.
At the top of the stairs,
You find yourself on a balcony that overlooks the entire party below.
Take a moment to settle into this vantage point.
Feel your feet on the floor,
The railing under your hands,
And take a nice breath.
From here,
You can see everything.
You see the crowd of people beneath you,
Noticing that there are so many people who look familiar to you,
And also some who don't look familiar at all.
There are ones that maybe you don't really care for that much,
And ones that you really adore.
Take a moment and pick out a few.
Find one characteristic about each one that you can call out in your mind.
Maybe something that you love and respect about them.
Or,
Something that you really don't care for.
It could even just be the way they look,
Or the energy they carry.
As you observe,
Hold an appreciation for how interesting it is to be at a party with all of these different people.
Whether you like them or you don't,
Whether you're drawn to one person or prefer to avoid another,
Notice how in some ways it's all of the differences that make the party kind of fun.
They make the world go around,
If you will.
Together,
Let's take a long,
Slow,
Deep inhale,
And slowly release that,
Feeling yourself grounding just a little bit more into your body.
Perhaps you notice that you're holding a little tighter or a little lighter onto the railing.
Taking a long,
Slow,
Deep inhale,
Feel the air fill your lungs,
And release it.
Shift your frame for a moment.
Instead of those people being separate physical beings in that room,
Imagine that every single one of those people down there is actually a part of you,
An aspect of you.
Look down again with this new awareness,
And notice all of the variety.
There are parts of you that you are not familiar with,
And ones that you know really well.
There's ones that you wish weren't true about you,
And ones that you really love and respect about yourself.
Take it all in,
All the complexity,
All the contradictions,
All the beauty,
As you take in a long,
Slow,
Deep inhale,
And release it.
Take a moment to smile,
A genuine,
Warm smile,
As you behold all of these parts of you.
You're standing here looking at all of them,
And I want you to recognize that you,
Standing on this balcony,
You are the one who can hold all of them.
You are the wise adult,
The parent,
The soul that holds it all,
The container for everything.
Maybe you're the matriarch,
The mother,
The queen,
Whatever resonates with you,
Some form of being the leader,
The witness,
The one with the biggest heart.
And from this place,
I want you to energetically gaze across all of these parts,
With your smile and your open heart,
And tell them,
Silently or aloud,
All of you are welcome here.
Everyone is welcome at my party.
Let's say it one more time,
All of you are welcome here.
Everyone is welcome at my party.
You want to get to know them all.
You're glad they're here,
Even the messy ones,
Even the ones you've tried to hide,
Even the ones you've judged.
They all belong.
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep inhale,
Gently releasing it and feeling that truth settling into your body,
Planting a seed of belongingness.
Now as we begin to bring this to a close,
Imagine that your heart has the ability to expand,
Beyond your body,
Beyond the balcony,
Expanding to hold the entire room with every single aspect and part of yourself.
Visualize it as an energetic force field,
Like a small light in your heart,
A golden sparkly light that expands outwards and holds it all.
Feel what it's like to hold all of you.
Feel what it's like to be held in this bubble of light,
Not needing to reject any part,
Holding every single aspect with tenderness and acceptance.
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep inhale,
Gently release.
Some of you may feel comfortable with keeping that level of energy,
The bigness,
Holding it all,
And some of you may feel the need to pull it back in,
Drawing that energy back into your body,
And some of you will need to step down the stairs,
Walk back outside,
And return to where we were before we did this exercise.
Whichever is more comfortable for you,
Just take a moment to do that now.
There's no right or wrong way.
Just honor what feels true for you,
Breathing as you transition.
And now begin to wiggle your fingers and toes.
Notice the sensations in your body.
Feel the surface beneath you,
The chair,
The floor.
Notice the temperature of the air on your skin,
And listen to the sounds in the room around you.
And when you're ready,
In your own time,
Gently open your eyes.
You've just honored every part of yourself,
And that,
My friends,
Is a profound act of self-love.
