Hi guys,

This is the meditation section with Thong and today topic is Befriend your feelings how you relate to your feelings may be the most important habit of all when you meet your feelings with greed and mindfulness you find they are your best friends on the street or path when we think about making and breaking habits how open do we consider our feelings the fact is that perhaps the most important habits we can make outbreak adduce relating to how we are with our emotions our feelings if we know how to practice with them are our best friends on the spiritual path they have wisdom to offer one effective way to work with feelings is to welcome them into the meditative space in the practice we sit with our feelings even unpleasant ones and make friends with them we open with feelings with strategy of escape avoiding suppression or self-adjustment the practice of befriending feeling provides us with another option we gradually learn not only to tolerate what arise but to welcome it and take it into our personal and spiritual path and now practice with me first pause and take a few deep breaths this help us find the mental and emotional space to sit with whatever is arising turn your attention away from the story behind the feeling toward the feeling itself now turn your attention to your body whether the feeling live in your body in your belly hurt shoulders back neck face head explore the quality of the feeling there is it heavy light tight constrictor next breath some space into the feeling your awareness just have compassion flows into and around the space created by the breath this gentle kind attention comes alongside the feeling like a good friend might come alongside you when you need someone to listen this attention is not there to fix anything or dismiss anything it's not just a label is he no plans and now welcome your feeling you might even suddenly speak to it in our bracket saying something like I'm not going to dismiss you or suppress you I'm just here to be with you you are welcome here I will be your friend your good friend we spend so much time fighting this present of feelings especially unpleasant ones know that how this kind of welcoming attention affects your feeling trust your capacity to hold a space of welcoming and sappy for your feeling if you need to take a break at this point you can see with whatever happens stay open stay curious if you make a habit of distracted you will gradually notice a seat the feeling will begin to feel safe with you and even telling it will begin to relax and open up at that point you can note it what is it like when the feeling libraries itself let's go a double check of befriending and well in openness without effort I see enough to stay here in the present woman just a you are this moment of awareness illuminance this moment of awareness a pressure this moment is free they easy and now listen to music in one minute and thank you for your listening you you you
