We are the thinker, not the thoughts. Not every thought and feeling that comes into our minds is true. We cannot truly relax until we relax our attempts to control our thoughts and emotions. Turn inward and notice what feelings are swirling. Learn to become curious toward your thoughts and feelings. There is room for it all. You are allowed to feel. It is safe to feel. What you feel makes sense.

Simply begin to deepen your breath,

Inhaling through your nose.

Exhale,

Let it go.

Slow breath in.

Slow exhale.

Gently closing your eyes if that feels okay.

Starting to just allow the external world to fade away.

As you finally give yourself the attention that you've been seeking.

If you've been noticing that you've been feeling off or in a down mood,

Or maybe just not like yourself.

There really are just feelings within you asking to be felt.

Breathe in and exhale.

Feeling within you is asking to be felt.

Gently holding yourself as you remind yourself,

I am allowed.

I am nothing wrong with.

Breathe in slowly.

Let it go.

I know it can feel overwhelming.

The complexity of our emotions,

Or the contradicting emotions that are within us.

May you remember that the goal here is not to fix anything or change anything.

Simply to allow yourself to feel to really witness and give yourself permission.

Breathe in,

Exhale.

Feel yourself letting go of control.

Feel yourself letting go of the desire to fix or change how you feel.

Continue to notice gently without reacting.

Simply labeling what you feel within you.

Just very calmly.

Anxiety is there.

Sadness is there.

Fear,

Excitement.

What is it for you?

Breathing and loving on what you find.

The only way for our feelings to be felt and then released is by us acknowledging them first.

Acknowledgement is everything.

And so we just soften into the reality of our emotions.

Getting really honest with yourself and how you feel.

What feeling is asking to be felt.

We cannot truly relax until we relax our attempts to control our thoughts and our emotions.

As we relax control,

We discover that grief is safe.

Failure is safe.

Uncertainty is safe.

Sadness is safe.

Anxiety is safe.

Not knowing is safe.

Being vulnerable is safe.

Being whole and messy and imperfect is safe.

Being a human that feels deeply is safe.

In fact,

It makes you all the way alive.

Take a slow breath in.

Exhale slower.

Notice what happens to your heart,

To your mind,

To your soul.

When you allow yourself to feel growing in capacity to hold space for you.

Seeing yourself with so much compassion,

Knowing that you can feel it all and your value and your worth and how much you are loved will not change.

Knowing that you are a human that is here to feel the full spectrum of human emotion.

Our emotions are our gifts,

Our teachers.

So may you think whatever feeling or feelings are within you,

Witnessing without reacting.

Breathing in,

Letting it go.

Everything within you is valid.

And everything within you is allowed to take up space.

Breathing in and exhale.

Just staying here with you.

Continuing to hold space.

And if your mind starts to wander,

Just gently coming back to this reminder,

I am allowed to feel.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Becca Lee writes,

I will never forget the time she spoke to me about the truth behind the smile,

About the darkness behind the light.

The time she taught me the most valuable lesson I was destined to learn in this poetic thing we call life.

With a voice as gentle as spring's first bloom,

She told me,

You see,

I mastered the art of happiness only after I had plummeted into the darkest depths of despair.

After I had reached rock bottom and felt as if even hope itself had abandoned me.

It was then I learned the strength of my own will and resilience and the undeniable importance of calm.

It was then I learned the happiness is not the endless summer I once thought it to be,

But rather the ability to weather and embrace all of life's seasons with patience.

And it was then and only then that I discovered how to truly be happy,

While still knowing pain and uncertainty had their place in my life.

Become alive to all of our,

There is room for you to exist.

Breathe in deeply and exhale.

What a gift it is to be held by yourself and to feel all that you feel.

One more deep breath in together and exhale.

From my heart to yours.

I am here with you.

I am human with you.

I feel it all too.
