Hello friend and welcome to the new Earth Shift podcast where we explore the power of inner healing and transformation.

I'm your host Hélène Mouton and today we're going to talk about one of the most important aspects of healing,

Reclaiming self-care.

Self-care is the act of taking care of yourself physically,

Emotionally,

Mentally and spiritually.

It's essential for your well-being and happiness.

Without self-care you can feel depleted,

Stressed or unhappy.

Unfortunately many of us did not receive enough self-care as children.

We may have grown up in environments that were abusive,

Neglectful or chaotic.

We may have experienced trauma,

Loss or abandonment.

We may have internalized messages that we were not good enough,

Not deserving or not worthy of love.

These experiences can create deep wounds in our psyche that affect us even as adults.

We may struggle with low self-esteem,

Anxiety,

Depression or addiction.

We may have difficulty forming healthy relationships,

Setting boundaries or expressing our needs.

We may feel disconnected from ourselves and others but there is hope.

We can heal these wounds by reconnecting with our inner child.

The inner child is the part of us that holds our innocence,

Creativity and joy.

It's also the part of us that carries our unhealed pain and unmet needs.

By acknowledging and nurturing our inner child we can heal the past and create a new future.

We can give ourselves the love and care that we always deserved.

We can reclaim our wholeness and happiness.

In this episode I'm going to share with you some tips on how to reconnect with your inner child and meet their needs.

These tips are inspired by the work of Carl Jung who was a pioneer in the field of psychology.

He identified the wounded child archetype as one of the universal patterns that shape our personality and behavior.

The wounded child archetype represents the part of us that carries unhealed wounds from our childhood.

These wounds can create a shadow side of ourselves that we may be unaware of or try to avoid.

Inner child work is a powerful tool for healing these wounds and becoming whole again.

Tip number one.

Visualize your inner child.

One of the first steps to reconnecting with your inner child is to visualize them as a separate part of yourself,

Maybe five or six years old.

See them standing in front of you and notice what they are wearing,

How they are standing and imagine stepping into their shoes.

As you connect with your inner child you start to notice wounds or unmet needs.

Tip number two.

Dialogue with your inner child.

Another way to reconnect with your inner child is to dialogue with them as if they were a real person.

Talk to them using your voice or your mind.

Ask them questions such as how are you feeling,

What do you need,

How can I help you and as you listen to their answers write them down in a journal or a notebook.

By dialoguing with your inner child you are giving them the attention and affection that they crave.

You're also giving yourself the opportunity to heal and grow.

You are reclaiming your wholeness and happiness.

Tip number three.

Play with your inner child.

The final way to reconnect with your inner child is to play with them.

Do something fun and playful.

It could be something that you enjoyed as a child or something that you want to try now.

It could be drawing,

Dancing,

Singing,

Playing a game or anything else that sparks your joy.

Let go of any judgment or expectation and just have fun.

By playing with your inner child you are activating your creativity and joy.

You are also releasing stress and tension.

You are nurturing yourself and your inner child.

That's all for today's episode.

I hope you enjoyed it and learned something new.

If you want to go deeper into this topic and experience more healing and transformation,

I have a special practice for you.

I have created a guided meditation that will help you reconnect with your inner child and meet their needs.

If you want to try this meditation you can find it under my profile here on Insightimer.

The title is Reclaiming Nurturance,

Healing the Wounded Child.

You can also find the link in the description of this podcast.

I hope you enjoy this meditation and find it helpful for your personal growth and well-being.

Thank you for listening to this episode of the New Earth Shift Podcast.
