We've all become so much more familiar with the feeling of uncertainty.
Some of us have experienced it more in our lives than some of us only recently.
We each react differently to it,
But it has the same effect.
For you it might feel cloudy.
Or for some others it might just feel ungrounding or spring some anxiety.
This meditation is offering some light on the theme of uncertainty.
Calling some grounding and detaching ourselves from that uncertainty that's around us.
Starting by connecting to your body.
Feeling of your body in space,
The support beneath you and the breath within you.
Without needing to control.
Can you enquire within as to where in your body you feel the breath the most?
Can you feel it deeply or is it relatively shallow?
Not passing judgement on either of those,
Just welcoming your body and your breath in this present moment.
See if you can feel that uncertain feeling within you.
Enquiring as to where in your body you feel it sit.
Could be in your stomach,
In your chest,
Could be outside of you,
Wrapping around you like cotton wool.
Again there's no right answer.
Just ask yourself the question.
Take a minute here and see if you can connect with that.
Often just the intention of trying to connect with that feeling is more than enough.
So if you can't feel it,
That's fine.
See as humans we are hard wired for ritual,
Routine,
Pattern,
Rhythm and certainty.
It's what helps us to feel safe and secure.
When we're moving through uncertain times however it offers us a chance to release ourselves from that routine for a minute.
We get creative.
We grow through times of hardship.
We find new levels of our being.
New strength,
Resiliency,
Self compassion maybe.
We learn more about each other when we're moved through a collective uncertainty.
You see it's no bad thing.
But it can sometimes feel a little bit claustrophobic or as I said before a little bit cloudy.
Or however you felt it in your body now.
Can you even just for now surrender the need to know?
Can you imagine releasing that need to know with open arms?
How does it feel now without it?
You might feel lighter.
You might feel more uncomfortable without that knowing with you.
How does your body feel now?
Pause for a moment and notice how your breath feels now.
It might not feel any different.
Just spend a moment watching the breath now.
You see even when times are uncertain and you might feel a little bit lost.
You can always find grounding,
Pattern and rhythm by tuning into your body and breath.
This next breath is always your grounding anchor when you need it.
The breath is always a guide when you need it.
And sometimes when uncertainty gets a little bit too much.
You can always call yourself to begin again with your next breath.
Reflecting on that uncertain time as a chance for learning.
More connection with yourself or connection with others.
Growth through that struggle.
And you emerge as a new version of yourself.
Uncertainty is a tool for evolvement.
And we're all here to evolve.
It's the qualities you find during that struggle.
The self compassion.
The grit.
The devotion.
The lessons.
That will eventually lead you towards the life that you want if you let them.
Let's pause here again.
Just watching the ebb and flow of your breath.
Just hanging out here with your breathing like it's the most important place in the entire world to be.
Each breath that grounding anchor.
And I invite you to come back to this practice during these times of uncertainty or when you experience uncertainty or anxiety again.
Surrender your need to know.
And cultivate trust.
Trust that in the end.
These times will make you a better person.
You can sit here for as long as you like.
Whenever you're ready maybe blink your eyes open.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
