Hello and welcome,

My name is Faith Hunter and this is Breathwork for Grounding.

We will embark on a journey to center and ground ourselves to the power of our breath.

This foundational practice paves the way for deeper exploration and connection within our self-love journey.

Let's begin by finding a comfortable seat.

I invite you to close your eyes or cast them down.

Relax your shoulders and let's begin to soothe the body with the breath.

Let's initiate our practice with deep abdominal breathing first.

Place your hand over your belly and maybe the other palm on top of your chest.

As you inhale deeply through your nose,

Feel your abdomen expand,

Bringing vitality,

Calmness into your body.

As you exhale,

Slowly and gently through your mouth,

Releasing any tension or stress.

Continue this,

Just breathing in,

Expanding in through your nose and slowly,

Gently exhaling out of the mouth.

Find your own pace and rhythm,

But make sure it is slow and easy.

With each breath,

Imagine roots growing from the base of your spine,

Anchoring you into the earth,

Feeling grounded and steady in this moment.

Continue this deep breathing practice for another minute or so,

Focusing on the rise and fall of your abdomen.

Now after your final exhale,

I want you to take a deep breath in through your nose,

Hold and retain the breath,

And then exhale slowly out of your nose.

Take the next few seconds to just feel,

Observe,

And notice all the sensations in your body,

But most importantly,

Notice the calmness of your mind.

Now we're going to transition to a much more rhythmic breathing pattern.

It's called four-part breath or square breath,

And I find that this breathing pattern definitely deepens our connection to the earth and is truly grounding.

You're simply going to inhale through your nose for four counts.

Hold your breath for four counts,

And then you exhale slowly through your nose for four counts,

And then holding the breath out for four counts.

I'll repeat that again.

You're going to inhale for four counts.

Hold and retain your breath for four counts.

Exhale slowly for four counts,

And hold the breath out for four counts.

Let's begin.

Inhale two,

Three,

Four,

And hold two,

Three,

Four.

Exhale two,

Three,

Four,

And pause two,

Three,

Four.

Inhale two,

Three,

Four,

And hold two,

Three,

Four.

Exhale two,

Three,

Four,

And hold two,

Three,

Four.

Inhale two,

Three,

Four,

And hold two,

Three,

Four.

Exhale two,

Three,

Four,

And hold two,

Three,

Four.

Inhale.

Hold.

Exhale.

And hold.

Inhale.

Hold.

Exhale.

Hold.

Continue with that pattern,

Taking this four-count breath on your own.

And know that as you inhale,

Embracing stillness.

As you exhale,

Feeling more grounded.

Taking a few more seconds to finish out that full cycle.

And as you complete that last hold,

Take a deep breath in through your nose.

Again,

Hold and retain the breath for a few seconds.

And then exhale out.

As we conclude our grounding breath work,

I want you to take a moment to acknowledge this sense of stability and calm you've cultivated in your body and mind.

And whenever you are ready,

You can begin to blink the eyes open,

Returning to the present moment.

And remember,

This particular practice sets the tone for our entire self-love journey,

Providing you with a solid foundation from which to grow and explore.

And know that you can do any of these practices anytime you need to feel a little more rooted and steady.

Thank you so much for joining me for this grounding practice,

And carry this centeredness with you throughout your day.

Ciao.
