Hi,
It's Ash.
Today's meditation is rooted around the idea of trust.
And so something to think about before we move into this meditation is what is your current relationship to trust?
So do people need to earn your trust or is it automatically given?
And what about trust towards yourself?
Do you inherently trust yourself or are you trying to prove to yourself and sometimes to others that you can be trusted?
So are you waiting for other people to give you that validation and that approval that what you're doing is good,
Right,
Correct,
Worthy?
Or do you trust that you know what's best for you and you have the answers?
Do you trust your gut?
Do you trust your heart?
In today's meditation,
We will use gentle movement,
Breath and the option of mantra to tap into trust.
Because I believe that when you trust yourself,
You set yourself free.
For this meditation today,
We will be moving our arms.
So if you feel you cannot do that lying down the most comfortably,
Find a seat.
You can place a blanket underneath of your sit bones or maybe it's a pillow.
Maybe you just need to sit up on your couch.
That's perfect.
Either closing your eyes or just soft focus gaze on a spot that's slightly out in front of you.
Breathing first just how your breath is moving.
And as the body settles down into stillness,
Perhaps the breath just starts to slow down.
Not being too concerned today with how long or slow the breath is,
But just trusting that you are breathing and that is perfect.
Taking inhales through the nose and letting those exhales release out.
Filling your body up with breath as you breathe in.
Let the breath fall out,
Tumble out,
Flow out,
Exhale.
And continue this movement of breath.
And then start to place your palms just at the center of your chest.
Palms touching,
Shoulder blades relaxed.
Your next inhale breath.
Can you reach the arms forward?
Extend them out to the side,
Hugging them back,
Drawing your heart forward and up.
And then as you exhale,
Bring those arms back forward and into center,
Palms touch at your heart center.
One more like that.
Inhale,
Extending the arms forward like you're reaching for someone out in front of you and then out to the side,
Hugging shoulder blades back,
Lifting heart,
Chin forward.
And exhale,
Pulling it all back in,
Hands meet at heart center.
A little different this time,
Inhale extend forward and out to the side,
Still opening yourself,
Your body up.
As you exhale,
Give yourself an embrace,
Cross at your elbows,
Take hold of your shoulders,
You're giving yourself a hug.
Hold this hug,
Take a breath in and take a breath out.
Again,
Opening the arms forward and out as you inhale,
Big breath.
And then as you exhale,
Embracing yourself,
Giving yourself a hug,
Cross at the elbows,
Touch the shoulders.
If you can,
Continue with these movements with breath,
Making them big as you inhale,
You open yourself up to all that's around you and as you exhale,
You pull all that energy back in,
Let it hug into your body.
As you inhale,
You open yourself up to trusting all that is around you.
As you exhale,
You imagine hugging that trust back into your body.
And again,
Inhale,
Open up to trust all that is around you.
Exhale,
Bring that trust back in towards yourself,
Trusting in yourself.
You can continue with these movements and if you need mantra,
You can repeat,
I trust,
I trust.
If you need to get more specific,
You can say I trust and then at the end,
The thing,
The person,
The place,
The energy.
And as you exhale,
Again,
You bring what you trust back into your body.
Cycle through this five more times.
And if the movement felt nice and if the movement was helping you stay in your body,
Keep with it.
If not,
Just allow those arms to fall by your side and continue your breath here.
Continue just focusing on trust,
Not only for others,
But for yourself.
Encouraging as long as you need.
Encouraging yourself to journal if anything came up for you.
To come back to this exercise of opening and drawing back in trust whenever you might feel it's wavering.
Take that breath in and big breath out.
Again,
Breath in and breath out.
Move slowly into the rest of your day.
Thank you.
