Welcome.
This space is for you.
A pause to come home to your own energy.
When you spend so much time caring for others,
Whether that's clients,
Family or those around you,
Your body,
Breath and heart can start to blur the lines between where you end and someone else begins.
This time is to soften,
To refill and remember what's yours.
So take a moment to settle,
Perhaps resting back,
Loosening the jaw,
Letting the shoulders drop.
If it feels safe,
Closing the eyes or softening your gaze.
Let the breath begin to move naturally.
Feel the contact beneath you,
The chair,
The mat or the floor,
Holding your weight fully.
Sense gravity supporting you,
Not pulling you down but rooting you.
Bring one hand to your chest and one hand to your lower belly and notice where your breath moves most easily today.
Is it shallow,
Deep,
Tight or flowing?
There's no need to change it yet,
Just simply observe.
And now start to gently lengthen the breath in through the nose for a count of four and out for a count of six.
Letting that longer exhale begin to calm the nervous system,
Inviting presence.
As you inhale,
Feeling your body expand and as you exhale,
Allowing your weight to ground,
Letting go of what isn't yours to hold.
Imagine a soft golden light at the centre of your chest now,
This space of your own energy,
Your own essence,
Your kindness.
And with every inhale,
As this light strengthens,
Feel that light expand to every cell in your body.
And with every exhale,
It expands gently around you,
But not as a wall,
As a warm,
Breathable boundary,
Like a soft bubble that is the shape of you.
And as you inhale,
Drawing in to your bubble what nourishes you,
And as you exhale,
Releasing what doesn't belong to you.
And continue to breathe like this,
In for four,
And out for six.
Notice any places where you've been carrying someone else's tension,
Someone else's emotion or need.
You may feel it in your shoulders,
In your gut,
In your heart,
And tension in the back of the throat,
When no's become yeses with good intention.
And with each exhale,
Imagine gently handing that energy back,
Not with judgement,
But with love.
And you may quietly say to yourself,
I honour your journey,
And I return what is not mine to carry.
I honour your journey,
And I return what is not mine to carry.
And allow your breath to be the messenger here.
A steady rhythm of remembering your own centre,
Perhaps visualising that soft,
Glowing golden boundary around your body.
Flexible,
Luminous and alive,
As it lets love in and out,
But keeps your energy steady and contained.
You can trust that what's meant for you will find its way through,
And what is not will simply pass by.
And now let the image of light begin to settle back into your heart space.
Returning to your natural breath,
Notice how your body feels,
The weight of you,
The quiet beneath your ribs.
And you may like to ask yourself quietly,
What part of me feels more present now?
And what might I need to stay connected to my own energy today?
What might I need to stay connected to my own energy today?
That energy that you are allowed to benefit from as well.
And take one more steady breath in through the nose,
And sighing out through the mouth.
And if that feels nice,
Maybe taking another breath in through the nose,
And out through the mouth with a sigh.
Okay,
Let that sigh carry out any last spit of what isn't yours.
And placing both hands over your heart,
And whispering inwardly,
I can care deeply without losing myself.
I can care deeply without losing myself.
Allow those words to land in your body now.
And when you're ready,
Start to bring some gentle movement back into the edges of the body.
A roll of the shoulders,
A stretch of the fingers.
And as you start to flutter the eyes open,
Imagine that soft golden boundary still around you.
Your quiet reminder that you are grounded,
And you are whole.
