Drop What Does Not Belong To Mind, Leads To Emptiness
by Girish Jha,
Freedom, Happiness, and wisdom When we learn the principles of eastern wisdom, we apply discernment that becomes dispassion. The highest dispassion leads to knowledge of real self, awakens to permanent happiness. We will learn from Yoga Sutra, Gita, and other texts together to discover the true nature.
Transcript
We were covering the second sutra,
Do you remember the very first in the series we understood the natural state of the mind?
So that reflects our true nature.
But question is why the mind becomes unnatural?
The mind becomes unnatural because that mind which is instinctive,
Impulsive,
Habitual,
Causes the likes and dislikes and projects happiness outside.
So once it projects happiness outside,
Then we have millions and millions of the thoughts,
And then we say what should I do?
My mind is crazy.
You are crazy,
That's why your mind is crazy.
Not because my.
.
.
So because I lose awareness.
We are covering a very,
Very subtle,
But very important topic with reference to this second sutra.
Take an example.
When I experience pleasure,
Reality check,
You know,
We say in our country reality check.
I had a friend in New Jersey.
He said,
You know,
I'm totally in stress and anxiety because of this election.
Are you participating in the election?
See,
Reality check.
You see that?
So the more you do the check,
The anxiety goes away.
So take simple example.
When I experience pleasure,
Say,
For example,
In pasta,
Does pasta contain the pleasure?
In money I spent,
The pleasure contains there.
Now see what happened.
Due to the lack of awareness,
Pasta and the pleasure got mixed up.
And that mixture continues to project pleasure and this pasta.
Today it is very good.
Last time it was fine.
You see?
The thought pattern has started.
Thought pattern has started.
You know,
That waiter,
You know,
She was very good or he was very good.
Look at these thought pattern because of the mixture,
The pasta and the pleasure,
Because of the election and the pleasure in a particular candidate or pain in another candidate.
Look at this is what is happening all the time to my mind.
Man and husband got mixed up.
Women and wife got mixed up.
Man and the boss got mixed up.
Why?
For likes and dislikes.
Pleasure and pain.
Where it has got mixed up?
In my head.
I have to get rid of those thought pattern and then the mind becomes totally empty.
It remains empty.
The beauty is that once you enter into a deeper state,
You will see,
Oh,
We are learning in a particular series,
But when I give lessons,
You give me a talk.
The brain remains totally empty.
Once you have given the topic,
I start speaking.
Sometime I find that why this brain is totally empty and still the lips are moving and I'm speaking.
It's totally an unusual,
You can say,
A natural state of the mind.
Now come back to the sutra.
Sutra yoga,
Chitta,
Vritti,
Nirodha,
Four words.
Yoga.
Do you understand the first sutra?
Yoga is the highest state of mindfulness.
That is what we learned.
And that is according to the commentator.
Now chitta is the mind,
Chitta means the mind.
So mind has,
Mind is instinctive,
Habitual,
So it attracts the moment it perceives anything likes and dislikes and then we start our journey of craziness,
Laziness,
And obsession,
Realization.
So,
That's the mind.
Then vritti.
So vritti means the thought pattern,
Behavior,
Attitude,
Response,
All come together as a vritti.
How I respond or react to a particular thought pattern,
Behavior,
Attitude,
Response,
All come together as a vritti.
How I respond or react to a particular object or a thing.
So that creates a thought pattern.
In the previous series,
We understand what is a thought,
A mathematical example,
Equation.
Thought is equal to,
Do you remember?
That is why I said that you have to study,
You have to listen to it.
Thought is equal to object plus i.
M.
Do I know the essential nature of an object?
No.
I like pasta,
So pasta and the pleasure got mixed up.
So I don't see the right perception.
I don't have a right perception about the pasta.
Do I know i.
M.
?
No,
I don't know i.
M.
They got mixed up.
They create a lot of thought pattern and ultimately we fall,
Mind becomes crazy.
Mind becomes crazy,
Lazy and it leads to anxiety and stress and reaction and problems.
That is why the masters say,
Yoga chitta vritti nirodha.
Emptying the mind of its content is yoga,
Which is meditation,
Which is higher state of the mindfulness.
But if we take reference from the previous sutras,
So he says that mind lives in five subjective states.
Do you remember?
It's very practical.
In day to day life,
You wake up in the morning,
Your mood is upset,
Which state it is?
You recognize.
The moment you recognize,
You change it and you are free.
That is why it is important to know these five subjective states of the mind.
Do you also remember out of the five subjective states,
Only two states helps us to reach to a meditative state.
What is meditation?
It reveals the knowledge of the reality.
It reveals the knowledge of the reality,
My true nature.
Once that knowledge is revealed,
You may be in any circumstances,
You may be with a hundred people.
The mind lives in permanent peace,
Happiness,
Love and wisdom.
Do you know about content writer?
One of my students,
You know,
In India,
He is posting everything on the Facebook.
I hardly visit there in one or two weeks.
Content writer.
Mind is a content writer.
He writes blog,
He writes blog.
Think of this mind as a content writer.
Can you prevent this mind to write a content?
It wants to pass on the opinion on everything that is in front.
Hold on.
Not required.
Mind,
Keep quiet.
Not required.
And you see,
When we create a thought pattern,
When we make the mind a content writer,
Even with the near and dear ones,
With the strangers and the mind is beset with the fear,
A sense of anxiety.
This guy from the New Jersey,
He made the mind a content writer with reference to the politics.
And he went into anxiety.
His wife was telling me,
You know,
He is very much stressed.
You see,
Mixed up.
Thought pattern.
Again,
Remember,
Thought is nothing but the object plus I.
Object plus I.
How I write the content with likes and dislikes.
Likes and dislikes takes you to attachment.
Attachment takes you to delusion.
And what is delusion?
What is delusion?
Delusion that appears true,
But not true.
That appears true,
But not true.
Why it appears true?
Because the mind has added content into it of the likes and dislikes,
Pleasure and the pain.
And that is why we continue to suffer.
We cannot empty the mind.
And the knowledge of the reality is not revealed.
What we are doing,
We are understanding the second Sutra.
What is that?
Yoga chitta vritti nirodha.
Meaning,
Amputating the mind of its content is leads us to yoga.
Now,
What causes?
Understand,
This is another subtle point that we should understand.
There should be something in the mind at a subtler level causing or trigger me to run after an object.
I want to remain awfully busy running all the time.
Why?
To secure pleasure.
Master says that is known as rajo guna.
And sometimes there should be something that triggers the mind to oppose the very knowledge,
Oppose the even,
You know,
What is true.
So when my mind say,
For example,
Opposes,
I'm a diabetic,
For example,
And my mind opposes not to take sugar,
I take sugar.
So the master says it is known as tamo guna.
There are three qualities always present in the mind,
In the world,
In every object.
That is how we understand that is how we understand this Eastern wisdom and the third quality,
Third quality,
There should be always something that causes the knowledge that separates pleasure from the objects that is known as tato guna.
Three qualities.
Sato guna aims at knowledge.
Mind wants to know first before I use,
I possess,
I own as the object,
Any person in relationships.
I want to know,
I should have a clarity of the knowledge.
Sato guna.
I oppose that knowledge.
Tamo guna.
I fall into delusion and I'm chasing that object is known as rajo guna.
Are you getting it?
These three gunas means knowledge,
Activity,
Inertia.
You see that knowledge.
We wake up in the morning in a waking state.
We tend to remain active in the night.
We tend to go to inertia,
Rest,
Sleep.
And with that knowledge,
We start living our life daily.
I'm just giving you a glimpse of that three gunas.
So the entire world is composed of these three gunas.
What impression I have in my mind,
In my current life,
My mood is upset.
Tamo guna.
I hate you.
Tamo guna.
Can you recognize that?
First the hatred is created in my heart.
Then only I hate you.
So I have to get rid of that tamo guna.
These three gunas are always present in the mind at all the time.
So what is the goal?
Goal is to minimize rajo guna and tamo guna and increase the sato guna.
What will happen?
Mind will become empty.
Then you close your eyes and the mind is already inside and it perceives that sense of emptiness.
It separates itself from the body,
Breath,
Mind,
Intellect,
Ego,
And you reach to that state.
So it is not the thought pattern.
We have to,
Through the thought pattern,
We understand our behavior,
Our attitude,
And then we gain an understanding by the practice.
We minimize these,
And we balance these three gunas.
Why I explained you?
That is important.
Do you remember the five subjective states of the mind?
Shepta.
Shepta state.
Shepta is constant wandering state.
Mind is constantly wandering.
Why it is wandering?
First,
Obviously,
We can understand objects outside,
But deeper inside,
My mind has acquired a nature of the rajo guna.
Rajo guna is dominant.
Inside,
Behind.
So that rajo guna does not allow your body to be steady.
You're always running.
What we get by running?
Little pleasure.
After that,
There is a pain,
There is a fear.
So there are almost seven or eight different qualities that manifest in our behavior,
In our attitude.
I remember one of my friends in India,
I just look at my face,
You know,
He was always doing like this.
So I said,
Are you aware of this?
No,
I'm not aware of this.
You told me,
I said,
Go and look back into the mirror at your home.
And then he said,
Yes,
It is happening.
This is not good.
Ultimately,
We reach to that kind of visiting in our attitude and behavior that we don't notice.
Sometimes people,
Because of this,
Rajo guna.
So the wandering mind has a lot of pressure on the body,
On the metabolism,
On the physiological changes,
On the biochemical changes of the body.
Then we studied the moorha state.
Moorha is dominant by moorha is dominant by tamo guna.
I should get everything,
But I'm not ready to work.
Inertia,
Letharginess,
Inertia,
Letharginess.
We also experience the same,
Sometimes.
And when you are aware,
When you follow the four steps,
You can change your attitude and you can start living into peace and happiness.
The third is chipt vik chipt moorh,
Vik chipt.
So vik chipt means it is a mixture of rajo guna and tamo guna.
If someone challenges you,
No,
I will do it.
So you get excited.
And when the challenge is gone,
You become lethargic.
Check that nature.
When the mind swings like a pendulum,
That is also very dangerous.
That will accumulate a lot of negative impressions in our mind and that will make us crazy.
So these first three states are stumbling block in achieving success in meditation.
So the fourth state of the mind lays with perfect sattva guna.
Plus little rajo guna to help the mind to move from outside to inside.
Well,
It is happening inside.
It is happening inside.
So when there is a clarity of understanding,
There is a right knowledge,
Then what happens?
The mind starts moving easily without any resistance and reaction from outside to inside.
And that state leads us to meditative state,
The fifth state,
Niruddha,
The highest meditation.
So when you are able to maintain that state by regular practice,
What happens?
The knowledge of the reality dawns.
Remember,
No teacher guides any practice in the Eastern wisdom.
Did I explain to you that teacher is a replica of your real self?
Why he is in replica?
Because he teaches from the teachings of the Eastern wisdom.
Who is the last teacher?
My teacher and his teacher and his teacher.
Who is the last teacher?
Do you remember I told you the last teacher is the real self deep inside the heart?
Sorry,
I'm your teacher,
So I have my teacher,
Then his teacher.
Who is the last teacher?
Last teacher is the real self in you.
So why you are listening to my gossip?
Because that real self in you is representing this teacher.
That is why you love,
That is why you respect.
You know,
You see the selfish movement.
So my real self was represented by my master.
I didn't know.
That is the journey.
So if that movement takes place,
That movement takes place in sattva guna,
In that wisdom,
In that knowledge,
And then we always succeed in this journey.
We'll take up this third sutra with reference to the three gunas.
Next time also in a deeper,
Little more clarification.
So let us start our practice.
Close your eyes and close your eyes.
I am.
Just become aware,
My friends.
I am only.
I am means you are.
That is our existence.
That I am is beyond name in the form.
And then you declare,
I know I am.
That is our consciousness,
Pure consciousness.
And that I am is everywhere.
That is our real self.
One common element.
That is why it is Ananda.
That is why it is of the nature of permanent peace and happiness.
Never forget,
Contemplate and reflect on this.
Look at the body.
Looking at the body,
Awareness of the body,
Sensation in the body,
Feeling in the body,
All comes from the consciousness.
You see,
Different teachers use different words,
But it means the same one.
So when you are aware of the body,
You experience the sense of steadiness.
And that steadiness,
That steadiness can take us where?
To the deep inside.
Looking inside the heart in the space without any object.
You see,
Now I am adding another phrase.
You are looking into the space and you pick up a point in the space.
And that point in the space you will discover it is nothing but calmness.
In that state of the calmness,
We start the next step of singing and listening.
The first,
You know,
Why we have been doing this singing and the listening and in three stages.
What will happen once you,
As one day you are sitting in a restroom and your mind will start singing.
Wait for that.
And when that happens,
Let me know.
We will change the practice.
So looking inside the heart in the space,
First only singing and listening.
You sing mentally,
You listen to it what you are singing.
Swasturbhavatuh.
Sarvesham swasturbhavatuh.
We had millions of those thoughts accumulated.
There is a past impression.
We have to release them.
Can you release by force?
No.
We are replacing it.
Singing,
Listening and meaning.
What is the meaning of starvation?
So let there be a well-being everywhere.
At every subtle end,
The highest objects.
We include even the river,
The mountains,
The people,
The animals.
We see that well-being everywhere.
That is the meaning.
Sarvesham swasturbhavatuh.
Allow your mind to sing,
To listen and to know.
We are doing it three times.
Once you remember,
Maybe you can repeat a couple of times.
And now singing,
Listening,
Meaning and then knowledge.
You say,
I know you are a sargi.
Then what is the next thought?
There is no other thought.
Knowledge is there.
You are jai.
You see that?
That point of awareness should be discovered.
Well-being.
Okay,
I got it.
Sarvesham swasturbhavatuh.
What we are doing?
We are increasing sattva guna in the mind.
Minimizing rajo guna and tamo guna.
Why?
You minimize the rajo guna.
Body will remain steady.
Body will never like to move.
So when you share your experiences,
The body freezes.
I could not move.
What happened?
Are you progressing or not?
You see?
I will teach you everything by which you become your own master.
The second mantra,
Singing and listening.
Sarvesham swasturbhavatuh.
Only singing.
You are singing and listening in your mind.
Sarvesham swasturbhavatuh.
Shanti,
Singing,
Listening and meaning now.
Meaning is peace.
Peace will be everywhere.
Sarvesham shanti bhavatuh.
Thirsty,
Singing,
Listening,
Meaning and the knowledge.
What is that knowledge?
Peace.
Sukkha.
Good space.
Everywhere.
Common element.
Peace in the body.
Relaxation.
Peace in the breath.
Calmness.
Peace in the heart.
It is real peace.
Peace deeper.
It is silence.
What is silence?
Emptiness.
Sarvesham shanti bhavatuh.
Singing,
Listening,
Meaning and the knowledge.
Sarvesham shanti bhavatuh.
Do you realize the knowledge is power?
We are not doing anything until now.
We are going deeper into the knowledge,
The essence and the wisdom in these mantras.
That is why the importance of mantra.
Singing and listening.
The third line.
Sarvesham bhavatuh.
Singing and listening.
First is,
Sarvesham puranam bhavatuh.
Singing,
Listening and meaning now.
What is the meaning?
Purnam.
Purnam means completeness.
Sarvesham everywhere.
Purnam.
Completeness should happen,
Should be realized,
Should be known.
Sarvesham puranam bhavatuh.
Singing,
Listening,
Meaning and the knowledge.
Now you see that,
Let me give you another essence of it.
Purnam.
I am complete in myself.
When I realize that sense of completeness in myself,
I am awakened.
But at the material level,
At the level of my social family,
Professional life,
I exchange that completeness with my honey,
With my employer,
With my friend,
With my son,
With my daughter,
With everyone.
You see what is going to happen?
Can you imagine?
Think of that.
Think of that.
Sarvesham puranam bhavatuh.
When you interact with your honey,
First have that knowledge,
That completeness is interacting with honey.
And then tell me what happens.
Sarvesham puranam bhavatuh.
You see that when your reference point,
The center of reference within is the sense of completeness,
Will you demand anything from others?
Will you push anything,
Anyone?
Will you react?
Come on,
Just see that knowledge.
Even if the other is reacting,
You know how to live into that state.
Fourth line,
Singing and listening.
Sarvesham mangalam bhavatuh.
Sarvesham mangalam bhavatuh.
Singing,
Listening and meaning.
What is the meaning?
The meaning is auspiciousness.
Let me think,
Speak and act in auspiciousness.
Let me make my journey of life in auspiciousness.
Let me work together in auspiciousness.
Let me discover that auspiciousness.
So auspiciousness is a movement.
Progress in movement,
Happiness in movement.
Sarvesham mangalam bhavatuh.
Is your mind in auspiciousness at this moment?
Sarvesham mangalam bhavatuh.
Sarvesham mangalam bhavatuh.
The entire life becomes a musical note.
We have yet to enter into the meditative state,
But our foundation is so strong,
That the mind,
Crazy mind,
Cannot enter.
Singing,
Listening,
Meaning and knowledge.
Sarvesham mangalam bhavatuh.
Next moment in meditation is auspicious.
Next moment in meditation is not crazy and lazy.
See that.
When I'm stressing,
See that?
You are in that wisdom.
Sarvesham mangalam bhavatuh.
Sarvesham mangalam bhavatuh.
Sarvesham mangalam bhavatuh.
Jastchen tom shanti shanti shanti.
Same way,
Singing and listening,
Singing,
Listening and meaning,
Singing,
Listening,
Meaning and knowledge.
You already know.
Om is my real nature symbolically.
First shanti I realize in my real nature.
Second shanti I realize as individual person that consists of body,
Breath,
Mind,
Intellect and ego sense.
And then?
Third shanti for the world everywhere.
Do it yourself.
You should also become your own master.
I appreciate you all.
That's a way to be a seeker.
You see that that's,
Sathuguna did something deeper inside.
That is why we are into that state.
I'll take up a little deeper in the next session.
And now start breathing deep,
Silent,
Slow.
Not very deep so that the mind experiences an unease or discomfort.
Not very slow so that the mind may fall into laziness in between.
You are able to maintain your awareness and now you know the breath is the car,
Mind is the driver and the highway is the space inside the body.
So what we do?
You see that the breath is uniform.
The moment you start inhaling,
Move the mind inside the right arm from the shoulder to the fingertips being aware of the space.
And as you exhale,
Move the mind from the fingertips to the shoulder in the space.
Where?
Inside the right arm.
Where the mind is absorbed in the highway.
What is that highway?
It's the space.
So here it is a semi-active step where the breath is regulated by the mind.
Why we do that?
To remain aware and attentive.
Not to fall back into those two gunas,
Rajasic and Tamasic.
So now move the mind inside the left arm.
That is the journey.
Beautiful.
Continue my friends.
Breath is moving uniformly inside the left arm.
Mind becomes aware of the infinite space inside on the highway.
Car,
Driver,
Highway.
You have a total freedom.
That is the knowledge.
Now inside the right leg.
You see it is the knowledge.
Science wants to know when we breathe deeply what happens at the physiological,
Biochemical,
Psychological level.
We want to know if the mind is able to maintain the status quo that reflects the sattva guna.
Approach is totally different.
Why?
We want to know our real nature,
Subjective reality.
Now inside the left leg.
You see previously we were doing a lot of steps.
There is another way to understand meditation.
There are no steps.
All steps merge into one.
Can you divide emptiness?
Can you see that?
Now inside the spine,
When you start inhaling,
The mind drops from the crown of the head to the tailbone in the space inside.
And from the tailbone to the top of the head.
The words in the form of a sound is located at the unconscious level at the tailbone.
The word is auspiciousness.
That is expressed vocally through the tongue and by the help of a throat center.
And in one tradition,
What is the journey?
To lift that from the tailbone,
Bring it inside the forehead and allow it to rise to the top of the head.
Unconscious to conscious evolution.
I'll be adding one more step pertaining to that.
Now leave that.
Leave the breath.
Again moving into the knowledge practice,
Become aware of the head and the neck.
It is once you get a real sense of it,
You can be in peace at any point anywhere.
Become aware of the head and the neck and the space all around.
That space,
The bag of a space is covering the head and the neck.
So we are aware of the space,
So from the space,
Move the mind to the shape of the head and the neck.
You see it is not scanning.
We are asking the mind and knowing the mind is consciously moving inside.
From the shape of the head and the neck,
You experience the sensation.
And inside the sensation,
We experience the stillness in the head and the neck.
It is not the stillness of the head and the neck.
So what will happen?
In advanced stages,
You are moving,
You are walking and still you can experience that stillness.
What is going to happen?
Transformation.
Right arm covered by a cylindrical space.
So you are aware of the cylindrical space.
From the space,
You move inside shape of the right arm.
From the shape of the right arm,
You move to the sensation.
From the sensation,
You experience the stillness in the right arm.
Are you changing the mind?
Yes.
The mind because of unconscious habitual,
Instinctive,
Impulsive nature,
It feels body is moving by itself.
No.
When you experience that stillness.
Left arm cylindrical space,
Shape of the left arm,
Sensation,
Stillness in the left arm.
Can I see that stillness all the time?
This week,
Only one week,
24 by 7,
Continue to see that stillness.
It is always there.
That stillness belongs to our real self.
Never changing reality.
Rib cage and a cylinder all around.
The rib cage of a space,
Mind moves from the space to the shape.
You see it,
You feel it,
You know it.
Sensation,
Stillness in the heart.
From the belly all around,
There is a space.
Shape,
Sensation,
Stillness.
Just remember 4S.
The mind has envy and jealousy and hatred against a person.
Practice 4S.
If he comes in front of you,
Let me know what happens.
Right leg cylindrical space.
From the space to the shape,
To the sensation,
To the stillness.
Left leg,
Space all around,
Shape,
Sensation,
Stillness.
Body has some challenges.
Body doesn't want to waste,
Have you practiced this?
Only one thing is required.
Sometimes the pressure is more.
Resources is less because of practice,
Lack of practice.
Increase the resources and see the result.
Entire body cylindrical space,
Bag of it.
Cylindrical bag is covering the entire body.
The entire shape of the body.
Sensation,
Stillness.
You have a freedom.
Moving the mind carefully from the crown of the head to the heart.
Dropping on.
Then rising the mind from the heart to the crown of the head.
Casually.
So here on me,
I see the womb in the heart,
I see the womb at the crown of the head.
I see the womb at the crown of the head.
And from the crown of the head to the forehead,
You get a non-verbal om.
Means you know it,
What you are doing.
You clearly know it.
Because even saying mental om will take some time.
So from the forehead to the crown of the head,
From the crown of the head to the forehead.
And from the forehead to the forehead.
And from the forehead to the forehead.
Doing nothing.
Remain as you are.
Emptiness can only be realized in the state of doing nothing.
Om.
Shanti,
Shanti,
Shanti.
Om shanti,
Shanti,
Shanti.
Bring your right hand,
Bring your mind on the right hand,
Your mind on the left hand.
Lift your both the palms,
Place it on your eyes,
Open the eyes inside,
Know your experiences.
Then bring the hands down.
How are you,
Sergei?
I'm doing a very good session,
Pretty quiet,
Completely aware.
Good.
All the time.
Better control in my thoughts and my mind.
Sometimes it goes somewhere,
But where ever than before.
I can easily figure that out and bring my mind back to my control.
That's how that goes.
Beautiful.
You see that?
That is how I was explaining,
Sattva Guna in the mind leads to a meditative state.
Not the other two gunas.
We will take that in a little deeper in the next session.
And look at Terry.
Terry didn't move.
You increase your resources.
That is what can be done.
How are you,
Terry?
You have to unmute before you talk.
I'm in a state where I'm having difficulty moving,
But during the practice I was in a lot of different states at the same time.
Yes.
I would reach to the place a little bit and then I would fall back from it.
I would reach and then I would be aware of my difficulty with breathing and I would be aware of that.
Then I would say to myself,
The body is doing this,
The body is doing that.
And then I would say to myself,
Well that's irrelevant.
And then it would vanish and then I would be in a space and then I would hear a sound and then I would think about that.
So I kept going between all these different levels.
That is what it is,
The Patanjali,
The master explains we have five subjective states.
So the mind starts wandering into these five states.
And then we have five objective states that will come in later from the teaching of this master.
So once we have a clarity that these ten states,
We remember,
We know them and we know where we want to be.
Okay.
Then the mind changes.
How were you,
David and Jerry?
It was a very good meditation for me.
I experienced a lot of change in temperature,
A lot of light and dark,
Or not dark as in bad but dark as in nothing,
And vibration in my body.
Good.
I felt being in my body and out of my body,
All four things.
So it was very,
Very interesting.
Clear and deeper,
That's really good.
Well,
You know,
As we move into this sutras,
We will understand why these experiences take place.
Gradually,
Step by step.
It's not nigh reading like affection the entire book,
My friend.
How are you,
Jerry?
I'm doing well,
Sir.
It was a different meditation for me in that I heard your voice the whole time,
But I wasn't always following along exactly.
So I would just notice that maybe I lost my own for a bit.
So I don't know if I,
Because I heard you the whole time,
Yet I felt like I lost focus a bit.
Last focus.
I don't know.
I'm not sure.
Yeah,
Either it is because of the five states,
The mind who started wandering and moving into the other states,
Or it happens that when we are deeply absorbed into a meditative state,
You feel as if the teacher is too far.
They're talking from too far so that you don't listen,
But you are still there.
Yeah,
Because I wasn't distracted by anything else.
Oh,
Then it is good.
Then it is good.
Very good.
How are you,
Stephen?
Really good.
I feel very mellow.
I feel I'm here.
The meditation was quiet.
Outside of a few times,
I felt like I was falling over,
And the experience that came with that,
The very first one,
Was as I felt I was falling over was the only thought that came to me,
And I saw this burst of yellow light the very first time that happened.
And then it happened a couple more times in there,
And I basically just said to myself,
I recognize it was happening.
Just let it go.
Don't worry about whatever color you see and whatnot.
That's very important.
But when you,
As soon as you started chanting the Om Shanti,
Everything went to deep blue.
Deep.
That's good.
That's a deeper state.
And I actually had to force myself to come out of the meditation.
I knew it was,
It was when you,
I think you said to Sergei to share his experience is when I realized that I was still,
I need to come out of this.
I need to come out of it.
Beautiful.
You see that it's very important why we say that you enjoy those experiences,
No issue,
But,
But we are in search of an experiencer.
So in meditation,
There must be,
The goal must be very clear that my journey is to discover my true nature,
Not to fall back into the experiences,
Or not even thinking of bringing about physiological,
Biochemical and psychological changes in the body.
It will happen.
So goal is totally fixed that here is my true nature.
I want to know.
Once I know that I discovered that I live into that,
The entire life changes.
So that is all.
Any questions?
No question.
Yes.
Did you at one point say that the world is at the,
Exists at the base of the spine?
I think that's what I heard.
Ah,
Yes.
What I said,
There is one tradition where we say that the Ganesha,
Ganesha means the god of auspiciousness,
Sits at the tailbone.
And the mantra or the word at the subconscious level,
Which we are not aware,
Also sits at the tailbone.
So by the,
Yeah,
That's a symbolic.
So by the,
The word,
Not the word,
The word means the alphabets,
The phrase,
The mantra,
The speech,
All sits at the,
So when we practice meditation,
The goal in that tradition is to lift both of them,
Bring it inside the forehead and keep it there.
So when you keep it there,
It touches the highest consciousness.
So that is another way to explain the process of awakening.
That is all.
Thank you.
We will meet again on Thursday.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
