Starts with coming into presence by connecting to the body and soothing the nervous system with some deep breathing, followed by a visualization and 11 uplifting affirmations. Great to listen to as a daily practice on the way to school or before bedtime. If used daily the affirmations will wire-in new neural pathways for more peace and happiness. Teachers may enjoy using in class for a few minutes of quiet time to invite calm and relaxation in between activities. Ideal for ages 2 to 7. Music: ‘Serenetude For Stillness’, a beautiful soothing soundscape created by MaJiKer, who is also a teacher here on Insight Timer. Photo: Thanks to Kiana Bosman

Hello,

My name is Heather.

Thank you for being here.

I am so grateful for your ears.

We're just going to take a moment to come into this space where you are right here right now.

You can gently let your eyes float closed if you want to.

Or you can keep your eyes open.

But if you do,

Let them look out softly and just notice what your eyes can see.

Right now there is nothing else you need to do.

Nowhere else you need to be.

You can just allow yourself to relax and be.

Like a tree bees.

Or like a bee bees.

No doing,

Just being.

It feels good to just be sometimes.

We're going to take a couple of deep breaths together to help us relax and feel nice and calm.

We'll breathe in through our nose if that's comfortable for you today.

And if not,

You can breathe in through your mouth.

Then we'll breathe out as slowly and gently as we can through our mouth.

Are you ready?

So let's take a nice big deep breath in through our nose.

Breathe in,

Breathe in,

Breathe in.

And now release that breath as slowly as you can.

See how slowly you can breathe out.

Let's do that again.

Are you ready?

A nice deep breath in through your nose.

Keep breathing in just a little bit more.

And now breathe out as slowly as you can.

And now just let your breath be easy and relaxed.

I invite you to imagine that a soft colored light begins to surround you now.

This light can be any color you choose.

Maybe you choose a soft warm pink or a bright energizing yellow or a gentle fuzzy green.

You can even choose several colors if you like.

We're just using our magical imaginations and having some fun.

So choose any color or colors that makes you feel good today.

This soft colored light surrounds your whole body now and it's helping you to feel more and more relaxed.

You feel so safe and protected and loved in this beautiful bubble of colored light.

As you relax and enjoy these feelings,

I am going to offer some words and you can just let them wash over you.

You are unique and wonderful.

There's nobody else just like you.

You are so special.

You love learning new things and exploring.

You are super smart.

Your mind is amazing.

You're always finding new things to appreciate and enjoy.

You feel calm and peaceful.

You feel relaxed and for what's next.

You love being you.

You're perfect exactly as you are.

Enjoy the rest of your day or night.

Sending you so much love.

See you next time.
