This guided meditation will help lift your spirits during darker, colder days. We are cultivating positive energy through gratitude and mindfulness. This guided meditation also encourages appreciation for the body as a vehicle and invites you to reflect on your loved ones' positive energy. Smiling and recalling positive events can increase your positive energy and well-being. Practising gratitude and positivity can also help you to deal with life’s challenges and problems.

This week's meditation is for positive energy.

Now,

I don't know about you,

But well,

Depends where you are in the world.

But here in the UK,

I've really been feeling the change of seasons this week.

It's got a lot darker,

Colder,

Even had to start putting the heating on the other day just for a little bit in the evening.

For me,

I don't know about you,

But I'm quite sensitive to the to the seasons and the energy around that.

And when it's,

It's darker,

There's less sunlight.

It's a time when I naturally want to slow down.

But also,

Which is not a bad thing.

But also same time,

It can,

I can feel quite low at the same time.

And,

And then you know,

What it's like the mind starts going about all,

All things that go wrong,

And all the negative thoughts come up.

So,

But I have my daily meditation practice to help me with that,

Usually to catch it when I wake up in the morning.

Because often when we wake up,

If we're not careful,

We can go into the day in a reactive state.

And instead of taking that time to catch it and notice and our thoughts and what's going on,

Making the best effort not to act on them.

We're human.

So,

You know,

We're not going to do it 100% of the time.

But when we meditate,

We become more aware of those negative thought patterns.

And everything is energy,

Our thoughts are energy.

So that will have an impact on our body.

What can we do?

Well,

We can meditate.

Or as I always say,

And it's a lovely way to end the week.

So if you've had a stressful week,

And you've had a lot going on,

And with it,

And if you're affected,

As we all are by the news and things that are going on in the world,

It can be hard to get caught up in that negative spiral and not notice actually,

Not everything that happening is happening is bad,

There is good stuff happening too.

And because of the negativity bias in our brains,

We don't always notice that because we're wired to seek out threats to keep us safe.

So we are going to be focusing on the positive today.

And I'm not talking about you know,

When we have this sort of,

What do they call it?

Anyway,

I can't remember the phrase now.

But when we say,

Yeah,

Everything's okay,

Everything's fine.

And we're pretending that there isn't any stuff that's happening that we don't want.

That's it's about having both.

But at the same time,

We have to realise that we can have both stuff happening,

There can be good stuff happening,

And there can be other stuff happening that we don't like.

But if we get too caught up on the stuff that we don't like,

We can lose sight of the good stuff.

So today,

We're focusing on the positive.

And to lift our spirits,

As we as we get,

As the days get darker and colder,

That we could all do with a little bit of that today.

And when you're ready,

Then all distractions turned off in a comfortable position.

Take a deep breath in.

And just feel the breath and how pleasant it is to be sitting here breathing in this moment.

Be aware of how you're feeling.

Any thoughts that are present,

Feeling the ground beneath your feet,

The support of the earth,

The chair or whatever is supporting your body.

And remember,

You've made it this far.

In life,

You're still here.

You've survived.

Whatever you've been through,

You made it,

You got through it.

And when you realise that,

Notice the sensations in the body,

How does it feel?

Can you feel a sense of accomplishment?

Sense of pride?

That you made it to this point.

And notice all the pleasant sensations in your body right now.

Maybe you're sitting on a comfortable chair.

You're feeling warm,

Your clothes are comfortable.

What's good in your life right now.

And as you bring to mind,

The good things that are happening.

Also be aware of the sensations in the body.

How does it feel to be alive right now,

In this body,

Which is just energy,

Everything is energy.

But the energy that is your body is your vehicle for taking you through this lifetime.

It may not be perfect.

Maybe some things that you wish were different.

It's the only one you've got.

So give it some love and appreciation,

Knowing that it's perfect for you.

Bring to mind the people and animals in your life that you love,

That you enjoy spending time with.

And again,

Notice that feeling.

Maybe it's a warm,

Fuzzy feeling inside.

When you think about these people,

Because their energy is positive too.

And if you're finding it difficult,

Just lift the corners of your mouth into a smile.

And notice how that feels.

Just the act of smiling can increase the positive energy in our body and our minds.

Now bring to mind something good that's happened this week that is positive in your life.

It doesn't have to be anything momentous.

Might be a nice meal,

A walk,

A good night's sleep.

Something positive that happened in your life this week.

And again,

Notice how that feels in the body as you bring that event to mind.

And now bring to mind something that you're looking forward to this weekend or next week,

Something else,

A holiday,

Something you've planned with your family or friends,

Something you're going to do on your own just for you,

Something you enjoy.

And again,

It doesn't have to be anything momentous.

And feel that positive energy in your body.

And notice how it increases the more you bring the positive to mind,

Knowing that this will help you to deal with the challenges and the problems when they do arise.

Because you're coming from a place of gratitude and with a positive energy.

Now just let go of any effort.

And imagine your body now is just filled with this positive energy.

And also the space around your body as it spills out into your environment around you.

And now setting the intention to carry this positive energy.

As we bring this meditation to an end.

And knowing that at any moment you can tap back into it.

By bringing to mind the good things in your life and the things that you love and appreciate.
