In this brief meditation, practice cultivating a field of belonging from the inside out. It has been said that the core wound is separation. Separation occurs anywhere where there is judgement and othering, which we often do to ourselves. As we practice ending the war within, we may begin to show up in our lives in a capacity that creates a field of peace and belonging.

Hello!

Hello!

Hello and welcome back.

Welcome to the party that is called YOU.

Today we are going to spend just five sweet precious minutes creating an internal field of belonging.

Start by settling in with your breath and the sensations in your body.

Find yourself in a posture of relaxed alertness.

Tuning in with your breath,

If you'd like you can scan your environment noticing comforting colors,

Sounds,

Objects,

Windows and doors.

Look around to the right engaging your neck muscles and slowly come back around looking over your left shoulder engaging your neck muscles.

This will activate your ventral vagus nerve offering a sense of safety.

If you'd like you can also place your hand gently on your heart which signals to your body that you are safe to relax.

As you breathe allow your attention to move through your body detecting any areas of tension that you don't need for the next couple of minutes.

Just gently letting go,

Softening,

Ready to receive a message of pure acceptance.

Notice your breath as it comes and goes all on its own.

Noticing your thoughts as they enter the vast sky of your mind.

Watching them pass like clouds and bringing awareness to your emotional body.

Any emotions that are with you allowing them to be just as they are.

Everything belongs,

Everything belongs.

Perhaps noticing in particular if there are any parts of yourself that you've had a hard time accepting and bringing those parts gently into awareness with friendliness.

Seeing their function,

Seeing the function of each and every element of your being.

Welcoming it all with grace and courage.

This too connecting with the fullness of your breath on the inhale letting go of pushing any parts of yourself away,

Any constricting on your exhale.

Bringing a sense of unconditional friendliness and humor.

A field of welcome to every aspect of yourself.

And you may if you'd like offer yourself the following wishes.

May I be filled with unconditional friendliness towards myself and others.

May I be safe and protected,

Free from inner and outer danger and harm.

May I be well,

Healthy and strong in body and mind.

May I experience deep well-being,

Safety,

Satisfaction and belonging.

Spending the next few moments savoring whatever has come up for you in these sweet brief moments.

And as we close we extend these wishes for all beings everywhere with no exception.
