Hello and welcome.
Thank you for joining me in this meditation of moving through discomfort.
Take a moment and all the time you need to just arrive.
Arriving in whatever way feels right to you.
Taking your time to check in with your body and seeing what it needs to support a sense of awareness and comfort right here,
Right now.
Taking your time to settle in the chair you're sitting on or on the ground that's supporting your body.
Just taking your time to arrive.
And as you arrive,
Just settling into your breath or into the ground or settling into gravity.
Just allowing you to sense that support.
Just yielding whatever way feels right into this moment.
And as you continue to arrive right here,
Right now,
Just gently notice the places within you that arrive with ease,
That arrive with gentleness.
Almost arriving like a melting or a thawing right into you.
Like compassion just gently washing through you and over you.
Melting you into your breath and melting you into ease.
And just notice thoughts arising or showing themselves on trying to figure it out.
Trying to figure out how to connect to the breath or to this moment or maybe thoughts taking you away.
Just gently notice with curiosity and then just gently return your awareness back to arriving,
To settling and melting right here,
Right now.
And now I'm going to invite you to notice places of discomfort right now within you.
Maybe it's showing up as unease,
Not feeling quite comfortable on the chair that's supporting you.
Maybe you're noticing a little bit of tightness or tension.
Just take a moment to bring curiosity to those places of discomfort.
Maybe it's showing up right now in thoughts or memories or sensations.
And just notice.
And just as you stay with those places,
With curiosity within you,
Noticing those places of discomfort,
See what it's like to imagine those places of discomfort being washed over with compassion.
And as you notice the discomforts being washed over with compassion,
Notice how the body shifts and leans in from a different place.
Notice how the compassion doesn't ignore or dismiss the discomfort,
But that it washes over like a gentle waterfall that starts from the top of your head and then slowly begins to wash and move down,
Right down to the soles of your feet,
Washing over both the places of ease and the places of discomfort.
Just staying with that washing of the compassion right through you and over you.
That waterfall starting at the top of your head,
Moving down the neck,
Shoulders,
Back,
Front of your core,
Thighs,
Legs,
All the way down to the soles of your feet.
Just staying with that washing of compassion as you do notice your breath as it aligns your body,
As it expands throughout,
Allowing the compassion to just move through you.
Compassion allowing you to lean into those places of discomfort with ease and curiosity.
And as this compassion meets these places of discomfort,
See what images or feelings arise.
Just meeting those with a gentle breath of awareness and curiosity.
Notice the compassion just flowing with ease through your entire being,
Opening you and inviting you closer to the compassion that's right within you as you move through discomfort,
Being held by compassion.
Noticing its energy reverberating right through you,
Extending to your heart that allows you to extend your heart to others.
And as you meet this place of compassion within you,
Allow that compassion to carry you into the space that you are in,
Allowing the compassion to carry you into this moment.
And when you're ready,
Gently opening your eyes and embracing this moment with compassion.
