Inner Weather: Awareness Of Body, Mind-States & The Heart
What kind of weather is going on inside? Like getting out of the wind, we can rest into somewhere safe in the body. Perhaps discovering the direct experience of our feet, as though we’ve realised this is where a long-lost intelligence is found. Safe enough to feel curious, falling into a stream of direct perception. Noticing what comes up in the mind--the publishing house remembering, judging, images... Resting, melting, and held, in here and now.

So welcome to everyone.
Please be comfortable if possible,
Relaxing into your body,
Into your situation,
Your ground,
Your air.
So letting things be as they are,
Not that you first have to conquer your mind and then you can be at ease,
Not that you first have to be perfect and then you can relax and enjoy life.
But more kind of leaving perfect up to life to deal with if there is such a thing or not.
Noticing what kind of weather is outside and inside.
Maybe weather mind,
Weather heart,
Weather psyche,
Weather relationships,
Weather.
And then feeling where you can maybe have enough sense of connection or shelter if it's very windy or rainy kind of weather in your mind or life or body if it's difficult times.
Is there somewhere in your body or in your mind that would be like getting out of the wind a little bit so that you can let it be?
Sometimes just feeling the contact with the ground or really feeling the feet like kind of pouring yourself into your feet.
Noticing what you feel.
Feeling maybe the toes nestled together.
That the foot has a shape.
If there's a big toe it's over there and if there's a heel it's over there.
We can kind of feel that the big toe and the heel are about that far apart.
Discovering what feet feel like as if this is where we've finally realized our long lost intelligence is to be found.
We can feel the parts of the foot that would be in the footprint.
The rim or edges of your foot or feet.
Or just somewhere lower down in your body that feels good or okay.
Letting Lite Ram that right now or something like that,
Letting Ultimate Giving some time,
Feeling the lower body,
The feet,
Or somewhere that you feel good or possible to connect to to receive the sensations.
Or if it's a struggle to feel your body,
Then maybe sounds or with your eyes open,
Seeing practice,
Letting your eyes receive color and light.
And whether with color or sound or body sensations,
All different kinds of vibrations that our body can receive and perceive.
The grounding of getting a sense of the difference between the direct perception and our thinking about that perception,
What we think about that color or that sound or that sensation.
So we don't need to try to stop the mind from thinking or reacting to the sensations,
Making up its stories,
But we do get to gradually feel the difference.
The two streams of your mind,
The direct contact of body and vibration,
Sensation,
Sound,
Light,
And then all the different forms of reaction in the mind or response in the mind,
Remembering,
Judging images,
Words.
The publishing house.
Cartoons and commentaries.
The mystery of all that thinking,
Where does it come from?
As if out of the blue.
There are these sometimes very familiar voices in our minds.
Sometimes surprising ones.
Sometimes familiar images,
Sometimes surprising images.
Sometimes familiar emotions,
Sometimes surprising ones.
So if it's possible,
Leaving room for all of that,
That whole publishing house,
Describing to myself as if to others what's happening,
For example,
Continually looking for how it could be done better.
Just feeling the whole publishing house,
How that feels in your body,
Just so briefly feeling that,
And then coming back to something more direct if possible.
Color,
Sound,
Sensation.
In a way that we could feel we're joining a stream that's humanity's stream of thousands of years,
People have had the same practice in so many different traditions.
What helps us come back into connection with reality and to start enjoying the discovery of what is.
And what helps you,
What helps us,
What helps this humanity,
This family of humankind to feel what helps you right now to feel safe enough,
Comfortable enough to feel a bit curious or a little bit of room to notice the alarm system,
The mental version of reality,
And then the stream of direct perception.
The possibility that no matter what kind of mind state,
No matter what kind of day,
No matter what kind of history,
There's nothing that can happen to you that takes away some possibility of falling in touch with reality,
Of falling in connection to what's important in a way that might be just as simple as feeling softness in your thighs or warmth in your feet.
Or relaxing enough that the hum from your computer or the wind in the trees can just arrive and leave,
Pass through like a small ripple across the surface of a lake allowed to be itself and you allowed to be yourself.
Resting back or resting down or resting inward or resting forward,
Whatever is more of a resting for you.
Letting face and shoulders and chest give up some of their sense of responsibility or defense or push,
Maybe melting a little bit,
Coming unsewn a little bit.
Melting into your ground a little bit,
Perhaps.
Even though there may be resistance or even though there may be a lot going on,
There may be a hurricane or an earthquake in your mind or heart or life.
And still here's the ground.
You're somewhere under the radar of story and commentary,
Drama and calendars,
Contact with ground,
Connection with aliveness beyond ideas.
Your own innermost heart,
Innermost depth,
Innermost ungraspable being,
Unnameable being.
Letting face and shoulders and chest give up some of their sense of responsibility or defense or resting inward or resting forward.
Letting face and shoulders and chest give up some of their sense of responsibility or defense or resting inward or resting inward.
Letting face and shoulders and chest give up some of their sense of responsibility or defense or resting inward or resting forward.
After a while,
Sometimes we may find we can trust,
You can trust your body to feel the sensations of its living.
And sometimes there can be a shift from trying to stay in touch with the sensations in order to be here and now to letting the here and now sensations give you a sense of being held,
Connected already here and now.
You don't have to hold on to anything to make it so.
And even when we forget,
It is still so.
So sometimes that sense of strain sometimes in the mind and energy to try to hold on to here and now can start to soften and we can just be held in here and now in what is so.
Perhaps blurring,
A little bit erasing the sense of the lines of where the body ends or begins.
Just letting the body sensations be free from our image and memory of what we think body is and letting this mysterious stream of happenings be free to be itself.
Warm and cool,
For example,
Allowed to be themselves.
No more,
No less,
That rich and simple here and gone.
Gradually allowing the cells to come out of their more tension-shaped locations and forms.
Allowing ourselves to be more fluid,
More round.
More freely living,
Interdependent and independent.
All these living cells.
All this.
Allowing ourselves to be more quiet and more quiet.
Whether that is helped by feeling the direct perceptions or by letting the direct perceptions be and tuning more into the awareness that receives the sensations or other perceptions.
Or feeling allowed to fall in touch with the innermost depth.
Letting life and cells take care of themselves.
Or perhaps feeling loved or loving.
And just now opening to that or through remembering a time of nurturing and care,
Listening and attending,
Appreciating.
Letting life and cells take care of themselves.
Or perhaps even for some people simply feeling the physical heart for a couple of minutes.
Letting go of tensions in that volume of cells if possible.
Giving that full volume of the heart.
And the rhythms,
The electricity,
The warmth.
A fullness of presence for a little while if you like.
If you find that being in the heart,
Physical heart area is alarming,
Then please return to what you were doing before.
So maybe somewhere lower in the body or less in the body.
Or in the sense of presence or awareness.
Or perhaps there could be a way that a sense of a spaciousness in which physical sensations,
Sounds,
Or colors are happening.
A sense of the gravity in which our bodies are held.
A sense of the living cells,
These living cells.
Being allowed to fall into our innermost depths if possible,
Whenever possible.
Permission to feel a sense of what loving or being loved feels like.
Perhaps something in that mix along with feeling the physical heart,
Perhaps rhymes or resonates for some of us today.
Okay.
.
May all beings live from the deepest heart that we know towards awakening for all beings including ourselves.
