Healing the ground.

Is it possible and fun for you to open to a sense of the ground as living ground?

Whether kind of just metaphorically a sense of the here-ness,

The immediacy,

The weirdness of the earth,

Or whether including the fact of the so many living creatures in the earth,

Microscopic and otherwise,

Or just a sense of our dependence on the earth,

How good that gravity holds us,

Feeling the fit between the earth and the body,

Gravity,

And our bones,

Our fluids,

Our skin,

How we're in the middle of this evolution,

Millions of years to come here,

And whatever this body may be,

It fits here,

In gravity,

In air,

A living world within a living world,

The body and the planet.

So if it's possible and fun for you just to acknowledge the mysteriousness of being alive,

Being part of the living earth,

Being made of the living earth,

And also contributing to the earth,

The mysterious ways that we're already so alive,

Ways that thought can't touch,

Just feeling how natural it is that we're so quirky,

These funny features,

Ears and noses,

Fingers,

Belly buttons,

Each distinct from each other and also so similar.

And if it's helpful in this way to kind of fluff up these major questions about what are we,

If that can help you then be more simply here,

It's allowed to be this weird,

This untameable,

This already happening long before the small I got here.

And so the small I can just be a sliver of what's going on,

A tiny bit,

Not even in charge of itself.

So sinking into life beyond what we can know or think about,

Sinking into a full life where the small self is just a small thing,

Not the main thing that we are.

Perhaps allowing a quality of breath that feels fitting,

Feels good,

Feels supportive,

Fun,

Releasing,

Supportive in another way,

Grounding,

Joyful,

Quiet.

The possibility that a quality breath has more importance than any thought that we could think for our awakening,

For our really being present in our lives.

Possibility that a moment of even feeling a toe could give more than a thought could give.

The possibility that we are already equipped with superpowers like hearing,

Like presence,

Like openness and awareness.

We are already gifted with being in a world where matter is also energy and maybe mostly space.

We don't have to make any of this up,

It's already this weird.

And maybe allowing that unknowability,

Weirdness,

Mystery,

Spaciousness,

Fluff up a little bit our sense of what we are and what's important to concern ourselves with.

Maybe a moment of just laying the hand on the body somewhere that feels like a good fit is more important than any thought we could have,

Than any purpose we could think up.

Maybe.

Maybe a moment of kindness or even just of not knowing is more powerful than knowing something.

Maybe.

And so if maybe what we already are and already have is more than enough for what we need,

Maybe we can let ourselves be here a little differently.

Maybe we can let ourselves be here.

Maybe we can let ourselves be.

What if we don't need to kind of wrangle ourselves and tie ourselves down to be a certain way in order to then get certainty or even okayness?

And if also what we think we are is less important than we expected.

Could we be here for a while?

Could we be?

Could we be welcome?

Could we be already full of life?

Full of goodness even?

Alongside the difficulties,

Could we be possibly already full of goodness?

What if?

As if the air touches our skin appreciatively.

As if the ground appreciatively welcomes you as you are.

Finding some way that's good enough for connecting whether to a sense of spaciousness or awareness,

To a place in the body,

Whatever you find fits you well.

To rest into being here,

To rest into aliveness,

To being well or to being however you are,

However you feel and that being okay and welcome and not all that there is.

And if there is something going on in heart and or mind that takes up a good amount of space in your inner life right now,

Knowing it to be just one small thing about you,

Possibility of leaving some space for it,

Turning towards feeling this thought or story or impression or emotion as another form of aliveness.

Another current in the sea or just a wave.

Natural and common and felt specifically.

How is it?

Is there a shape or texture or temperature?

Is there a place in or outside the body with that thinking or feeling or story or image or impression that takes up some space in your inner life just now?

Sometimes when we have a sense of it not being the most important thing,

Not being the defining characteristic of ourselves,

It can be easier to leave some space and feel.

How is it?

What is it like?

This curious current or wave or seashell.

And if we don't even need to make sense of it,

Just receiving,

Letting it be met with awareness by life.

Allowed to be because it's not all you are.

Because it's natural and common and belongs to life too.

And also sometimes we can feel not only is it natural and common and not really my fault,

But something I'm sensitive to that I can feel,

Hear,

See,

Whatever way I'm experiencing it.

And oh yeah,

Others have also felt shame or criticism or hurry or shutdown or whatever it may be.

Perhaps we can also leave room for not only is this welcome and allowed and common and natural,

But also perhaps I could live without it sometimes or at a certain point it might be done.

May there be peace.
