I'll invite you now to find a posture that feels supportive for a few moments of practice.
And we're going to be bringing attention to our hands.
And as we do this,
I'll invite you to consider the concept of beginner's mind,
As if this was the first time ever you were looking at your hands or paying attention to your hands.
So you might bring your hands up in front of you.
Slowly rotate them around.
Notice the front and back.
Naming what you see,
Color,
Texture,
Different parts of the hands.
And you can let your hands rest now.
You might close your eyes or choose to keep them open.
And I'll invite you to sense how your hands feel,
Just resting where they are.
What do you notice?
Maybe tingling,
Heat or coolness,
Softness or firmness.
What can you name about your experience?
See if you can get a sense of your hands from the inside out.
And see if you can bring a kindness and a sense of curiosity to your hands.
If it's difficult to feel the hands or you're noticing numbness or blankness when you try to label or name sensations in your hands,
Try lifting them up again.
Slowly bringing the palms together until they are touching.
What do you feel now?
What do you notice?
You might slowly rub the palms of the hands together if that helps you sense into feeling.
Maybe there's a sense of heat or vibration,
Smooth or rough.
Or you can open and close your fists slowly,
Stretching and squeezing.
After some time moving your hands,
You might rest them again,
Down on your lap or on another surface in front of you.
And notice what resting your hands feels like now.
And now.
And now.
Say thank you.
