We can all feel overwhelmed from time to time - too many tabs open in our minds or projects on the go that we can feel taken over by them. Inspired by the work of J. Allen, we will work with sacred geometry to create powerful visualisations to help us manage that feeling of stress, and harness our powers of creativity and open our eyes to clarity. The meditation closes with Metta: the practice of projecting unconditional loving-kindness to all beings out into the world.

There you are.

Welcome to this guided meditation.

There are times when we can feel consumed by our thoughts.

We have too many tabs open in our heads,

Overwhelmed with too many projects,

Or have so many ideas going around our minds that we just can't switch off.

When our body is full of stress,

Doubts,

Or conflicts,

Then we're not able to see the whole picture.

Much like how the sun is obscured by the clouds,

The clouds of our stress can obscure our view.

Meditation is a tool to help you release that stress.

It can help us to clear the clouds in our minds so that we can experience life more authentically.

And we can also harness the power of sacred geometry to manage some of that overwhelm.

Our intention today is to use the power of your mind to clear away some of that mental clutter,

To clean the lens of your perception in order to restore clarity and balance in your everyday life.

We'll be working with an octahedron,

A three-dimensional construct that you will create using your mind.

You may wish to repeat this meditation once a day for six to eight weeks to ensure that your new practice is firmly in place.

Allow yourself to relax as we begin the process.

With this guided meditation,

You are creating new habits that will help to declutter your busy mind and to let go of what no longer serves you.

As you learn this process,

You will begin to experience a change in your thought patterns and in your mood.

You will know that it is within your power to be in control of any feelings of overwhelm,

Stress or turbulent emotions for you to be the captain of your ship.

Please make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.

As you continue to relax,

Take a deep breath and hold it to the count of three and then release out the mouth with a sigh.

Again,

Take a deep breath in,

Filling the abdomen and hold it to the count of three,

Then release out the mouth with a sigh.

Then begin again.

Hold it to the count of three and release out the mouth with a sigh.

Feel each part of your body relax as you continue to take slow deep breaths.

Then gradually allow your breath to return to a normal rhythm.

See if you can make yourself maybe five or ten percent more comfortable,

Releasing any tension you might be feeling.

Smile,

Relax your shoulders and open your chest.

Just for now you have nowhere to be but here,

Nothing to do but this.

Okay,

Let's begin.

I want you to think,

Imagine or feel that there's a flower like a rose or choose a flower that's special to you right out in front of you,

About an arm's length in front of you.

Now I want you to imagine placing another rose directly behind you,

About the same distance behind your body.

Then imagine one on the right and one on the left of your body.

Connect those roses together so that you have a square shape around your body.

In your mind's eye,

Visualize drawing a straight line of energy going from the one in the front to the one on your right to the one behind you,

Then from behind you to the left and from the left to the front.

So now you've got a square shape around your body.

Now think,

Imagine or feel another rose,

This time above your head and connect that rose to the one in front and to the right,

The one behind and to the left.

Now you're sitting inside a four-sided pyramid.

Focus on that for a while.

Try not to analyse it,

Just to feel it.

Now imagine that there's a rose below you,

Beneath your feet and connect that rose with straight lines of energy to the point in front,

To the right,

Behind and to your left,

Making a pyramid pointing up and a pyramid pointing down.

You're now sitting inside an octahedron.

You've created a very powerful container for energy,

One of the fundamental geometries of the universe.

Really tune into the experience of being inside this geometry,

Rather than your mental comprehension of it.

Try not to analyse it and instead just feel it.

If you feel your attention drifting,

That's perfectly okay.

Be thankful that you noticed and just bring your attention back to your breath and to the geometry around you.

Now that you understand the geometry,

I want you to call to mind the project or situation that you're working on that feels overwhelming or turbulent right now.

The line between you and your project has become so blurred that you can't stop thinking about it and you just want to switch off,

Have a peaceful evening and get a good night's sleep.

Just take a moment to feel and notice where that experience,

That thought,

Where is it?

Is it located inside that container you created,

Somewhere inside your body?

If so,

You have become the energy of your project and we just need to create some distance.

Start to visualise an open space.

It can take any shape,

Size,

Form or location that you wish.

It could be a vast atrium,

A woodland clearing,

A garden,

Perhaps your favourite room or even something abstract.

Really get a sense of that space.

You will be returning to this space often,

So make it memorable or special.

Somewhere in that space you're going to create another octahedron with the pyramids pointing up and down,

The lines of energy connecting the points,

Maybe 10 metres or 30 feet out in front of you.

That new geometry that you've created is where all this excitement or overwhelm is going to go.

Think,

Imagine or feel that activity,

That energy leaving your octahedron and moving out into the second octahedron you've created out there,

Freeing up some room within your personal space.

Really let yourself see and feel that geometry you're putting it into.

Really see and feel the energy filling it up,

Energising it,

Making it brighter and brighter.

The more you can think,

Imagine or feel it,

The more powerful it becomes.

As you continue to do this,

Take a deep breath and let go of any stresses,

Doubts or conflicts.

Let them flow freely out of you,

Letting go of anything that no longer serves you.

If you feel your attention drifting,

That's okay.

Just be thankful that you noticed and bring your attention back to your breath and to the geometry out in front of you.

This practice will allow you to distance yourself from that energy or overwhelm whenever you need to switch off.

So you may wish to do this at the end of your day or just before bed.

The next step will be when you want to go back to working on that project again.

You may wish to do this before you begin your day.

Take a deep breath and take yourself back to that space you just created.

Think,

Where did you put your project?

Recall where you located it,

Reach out and grab the geometry and bring it back around you.

Re-energize it,

Let it surround you.

Step back into it using an initiation phrase like I'm back on or I'm tuned in to dot dot dot and the mental activity you wanted to stop before is now back on because you want it to be and you are in control.

As you repeat this practice,

You'll be able to have multiple projects or geometries in the space you created and you'll become adept at turning them off or on quickly.

Taking one back,

Firing it up in your body,

Re-energizing it and then when you're ready you know how to put it back.

You may wish to repeat the sacred geometry guided meditation for 6-8 weeks to ensure that your new practice is firmly in place.

We'll end this meditation with the practice of metta which is the practice of projecting loving kindness out into the world.

Start by imagining someone you really love and care for.

Imagining them stood in front of you.

Smile at them and wish them may you be happy,

May you be healthy,

May you be loved.

Now imagine a stranger,

Someone that you have no connection to or feelings towards in any way,

Someone that you come across in your daily life.

It could be a shopkeeper or the postman.

Imagine them stood in front of you.

Smile at them and wish them may you be happy,

May you be healthy,

May you be loved.

Finally,

Imagine someone you're having difficulty with at the moment.

Imagine them stood in front of you.

Smile at them and wish them may you be happy,

May you be healthy,

May you be loved.

Loka samastaha sukinu bhavantu.

May all beings be happy,

May all beings be healthy,

May all beings be full of love.

Bring your hands together at your heart centre.

Bow in gratitude to your soul,

The one that is connected to all that is.

And when you're ready,

Gracefully open your eyes to peace and clarity.

Wishing you love,

Light and blessings for the rest of your day.

Namaste.

I heard you say Geometry and thought, This won't work on me. But I stayed and it did work. My mind overcame its depth perception limits and built lovely structures of lavender roses and quicksilver energy lines. Thank you. I shall return to this.

I can really see how doing this regularly could help me be more intentional with my own thoughts—deploying them when they’re useful and putting them aside when their not. Thank you for this novel (to me) practice!

Imagine my surprise on calling in assistance with overwhelm this morning and finding this meditation in the daily recommendations. You are an angel Jess. From your precise, calm voice to your clear, imaginative directions to build the space to place my projects. I can see the importance of my work now rather than the burden of it. Much gratitude and loving kindness to you.
