Transcript
Welcome to this guided meditation that will help to calm your mind and bring you back to a place of unshakable peace and well-being.
Find yourself a comfortable seat where your spine is supported and you can relax.
Just allowing your hands to rest in your lap.
Feeling a gentle lift through the crown of the head as you inhale.
And a relaxation through your shoulders as you exhale.
Just allowing the jaw to relax,
Tongue to relax,
And the eyes to soften.
And just begin to notice the breath.
Without changing it,
Just notice the breath as it comes in on the inhale and gently releases on the exhale.
And noticing the body gently expanding as you inhale and contracting as you exhale.
Gently allowing the breath to come in through the nose,
Out through the nose.
Breathing slowly and quietly down into your belly,
Expanding your belly like a balloon as you inhale.
Feeling it soften as you take a longer exhale.
Very smooth,
Quiet breath into the belly,
Really expanding it back,
Front and sides like a balloon.
And then let the exhale be a little longer than the inhale.
Just a couple of slow,
Deep breaths with a long exhale to calm the nervous system.
Beautiful.
And just one more slow,
Deep breath like that.
And then really relax the breath.
Relax any,
Let go of any effort.
Bring your attention to the points of contact between your body and the surface beneath you.
And just sensing perhaps the sit bones and the thighs,
The way they touch the seat or the ground beneath you.
Feeling the texture and temperature of that meeting point.
Maybe feeling the feet on the ground.
Sensing the way the soles of the feet touch or don't touch the surface beneath you.
Just allowing your body to get a little bit heavier.
And resting into the physical support that's here holding you up.
Letting go of that inner holding.
And resting into the support of the surface beneath you.
And then just starting to notice the sensations in your body without needing to change or fix any of them.
And become aware of the sensations in your left foot and your left leg.
And become aware of the sensations in your right foot and your right leg.
Become aware of the sensations in your left hand and your left arm.
And notice the sensations in your right hand and your right arm.
Noticing sensations in the lower belly and the chest.
And in the lower back,
The mid back,
The shoulder blades and the shoulders.
Just noticing sensations in the neck.
And in the face,
The eyes,
The forehead,
The back of the head and the top of the head.
And just aware of sensations in the body.
Noticing and allowing them to be there without needing to change or fix any of them.
Simply present to what is.
And in the same way,
Scanning the emotional body.
Noticing what feelings and emotions are here with you in this moment.
Just allowing yourself to sense the feelings,
The emotions,
Without needing to change them or push them away.
And perhaps naming each one as it arises,
Whether it's a joy or a sadness,
A peace or an irritability.
Just notice what's here and name it as you become aware of it.
Just noticing that it's all just a stream of energy.
And just noticing what's here.
Not moving towards or away from either of them or any of them.
Just sensing what feelings and emotions are present with you in this moment.
As a continuum of energy.
And bring your attention to the mental body.
And in the same way as you scanned the physical and the emotional bodies,
We just scan the mental body and just notice what thoughts are here with you in this moment.
Noticing the thoughts as they arise and dissolve.
And maybe there's thoughts of something that happened earlier today or in the past.
Maybe there's a to-do list of things to be done in the future.
Things that you're anticipating.
Just allowing all of the thoughts to be here,
Set the mind free to be as it is,
Its natural function of thinking.
And just notice this stream of thought energy without getting involved in the content.
There's nothing to push away.
Nothing to get involved with.
Just noticing thoughts as a stream of thought energy arising and dissolving.
And arising and dissolving in the field of awareness that you are.
Just turning your attention towards that part of yourself that is naturally and effortlessly aware of the sensations,
The feelings,
The thoughts.
There's a natural awareness function within you that witnesses all of these arising and dissolving experiences.
And you have the power to move your attention away from the experience content towards that pure witnessing awareness.
That sees everything coming and going.
And just noticing how this awareness is always here,
Unchanging,
Always still and at peace.
If you for a moment try to turn off the awareness,
Try to not be aware,
You'll notice that's not possible.
Awareness is always here,
Witnessing all that is arising and dissolving.
So you allow yourself to rest into this quiet field of awareness.
Just notice that it takes no effort to be aware.
It's not trying to be aware,
It just is naturally aware.
So just continuing to let go of any effort in any direction.
Just resting into this effortless sense of just being.
Noticing there's nowhere to get to,
There's nothing needed here.
Just a gentle sense of something like relaxation or peace,
Quiet,
Stillness.
Just notice what's here for you in this place of pure awareness.
You might even notice a touch of joy or well-being.
Let yourself rest into whatever feels nourishing here.
And notice that any effort that arises to stay here is also seen in the fields of awareness.
There's no effort,
You are naturally one with this.
It is your most fundamental nature and beingness.
There's nothing you can do to make it more or less.
And even if you temporarily get caught up in a thought or a feeling or an emotion,
This field of awareness remains unaffected and unchanged.
Just recognizing that you are this,
Unchanging constant presence of stillness and peace.
And noticing how everything that arises arises in this field of awareness and dissolves within it.
So that even as you gently begin to consider returning to an open-eyed,
Movement-oriented way of being in the world,
All of that is still just happening in this field of awareness,
Peace and well-being.
And so this may be a formal closing of this meditation session,
But this place of stillness continues to hold all of your experience.
So just naturally,
As you take a breath in,
Noticing how that happens within this field of unchanging peace.
As you feel your feet on the ground and your hands on your lap,
Just notice how that sensation arises in this field of awareness,
This field of peace.
And notice how as you slowly let the eyes flicker open,
That too is just another sensation in this field of awareness and peace.
Just bringing your hands to rest on your chest,
Just taking a gentle breath into the heart center,
An inner smile as you relax and rest into yourself.
Thank you so much for taking this time to come back to the peace,
The joy and the fulfillment that is your natural state of being.
And many blessings for the rest of your day.
