Hello,
Beautiful one.
Welcome to this mindfulness meditation for building healthy boundaries.
This guided meditation is for helping you to build healthy and purposeful boundaries.
When you make a healthy boundary for yourself,
Then same sometimes things that have hurt you in the past will not be able to reach you anymore.
Boundaries give to and provide some life essentials.
So let's begin as we always do by going ahead and getting into a comfortable position with your head,
Neck and spine straight or whatever position feels good for you.
Go ahead and close your eyes if that feels okay to do so.
If not,
You can just soft focus down past your nose.
And then take a nice deep breath in and let it out.
And then breathe in whatever way feels good to you.
And if you notice that your mind wanders away,
Just notice where it went and gently bring it back to your breathing.
And as you breathe easily and completely feeling more and more safe and relaxed.
Feeling your bottom as rests in the chair,
Your feet on the floor,
Your hands in your lap.
And you can hear my voice gently guiding you through this visualization to build your inner land of boundaries.
Imagine that as the sun rises,
You see you are standing in a beautiful lush green grass.
And there's a small house that you've built in the middle of it.
This house represents you and all the work you have put into yourself.
And the grass represents the world outside of you.
Perhaps you decide that it would be good to plant some trees and some bushes so that these plants will aid in protecting you from harm and benefiting the world as well.
A raspberry bush is very spiky and dense.
Yet it gives a bounty of fruits for us to enjoy and be nourished by.
If you plant many in a row,
They will protect you as well as a tall electric fence.
But this plant also gives it serves two purposes.
When you plant the tall trees,
They will protect you from harsh winds if placed in a way that is good through all of the seasons.
Tall trees supply us with oxygen,
And they're giving us while also protecting us.
The trees serve many purposes here.
You take a moment to look at these beautiful life forces that you are planting on your land.
And you notice that they're going to need a water source.
Perhaps you find the lowest lying area and begin digging and making the shape of a small pond.
As you step back from the circle of dirt you created,
You know that only a few heavy rains need to pour down and it will begin to fill and turn into a natural source of water.
This pond serves many purposes on your land.
It not only provides you and the wildlife with water,
But it gives you somewhere to go to meditate and reflect on the good things in your life and the good things that you do for others.
Closer to your house,
You see that you need some vegetables and fruits.
So you create a garden that is easy for you to access and water when necessary.
You plant all of the fruits you like and any kind of vegetables you want.
You see your garden over time flourishing and providing.
All the garden needs from you is to be tended to.
Perhaps you look around now and you see that you need an orchard.
So you strategically plant apple trees and other fruiting trees right next to the protected area by the big tall trees and a little closer to the pond so they can drink up the water.
This orchard supplies you with the most delicious apples you've ever tasted and their nutrients are dense and good for you.
You look around your plot of land and you have feelings of pride.
Not only do all these plants protect you and your home but they give to you and the community around them.
So make sure you work on the garden within you and put up proper barriers that if planted well and with love and care they also give.
Make changes as you need to as the seasons change and you grow older.
And now taking a look at something in your life right now that might cause you stress or frustration or anger and bring that to mind right now.
Try not to get too attached to it and try not to delve into all of the emotions but be an observer of this situation that caused you the stress.
So what sort of a boundary could you have put up that might have protected you?
Perhaps you needed to say no.
Perhaps you needed to stick to a structure or a schedule.
Perhaps you needed to ask for help.
And so with loving and gentle kind curiosity decide what sort of a boundary you might set next time.
Because just like your inner land,
Your house and your garden and your orchard and your pond and your trees,
Your outer world,
Your relationships also need that protection and guidance and nourishment.
And now taking a nice deep breath in and letting it out and wiggling your fingers and your toes.
And then whenever you're ready,
You can open your eyes and return to the room.
Namaste
