Hello everybody,
Thank you so much for joining me today to look at the three mistakes to avoid at all costs if you grind Clench your teeth or you have TMJ or general jaw tensions And yeah,
Thank you so much for being here today.
I'm excited to dive in with you So do you suffer from teeth grinding,
Clenching,
Jaw tension,
A cracking in the jaw joint or other jaw related problems?
Are you looking for an effective alternative to conventional measures for example bite splints?
Have you tried many different fixes and finally want to resolve the causes of your problems instead of just fighting the symptoms?
Do you wear a dental splint but you're not satisfied with the results?
Are you tired of receiving treatment all the time and want to do something to heal your jaw yourself?
Do you want to feel more in control over your pain?
These are all good questions and Hopefully some of these resonate with you.
You'll learn the three most serious mistakes that can be solved That are still being made during treatment.
You will learn what you can do yourself to avoid these mistakes and thus achieve sustainable and quick results You will gain more self-confidence and self-confidence in dealing with your symptoms,
Which is definitely a great thing Health is a gift.
It really is anyone who has not felt in good health will know that and Taking self-responsibility is our greatest chance to maintaining our health for in our lifetime So if we have taken self-determined action,
There's a huge knock-on effect not only for our well-being and how we feel but also for our confidence levels as I alluded to So you might be wondering who are these guys who is Kiefer Freund and I will tell you So we are a health company based in Linz Austria and the founders of Jaw Yoga We have over 10 years experience in jaw dysfunctions,
Bruxism and TMJ We help people become more healthy and enjoy life through self-responsibility and self-awareness These are really key pillars for us So let's get to mistake one When resting the tongue stabilizes the jaw and thus allows the muscles to relax The correct resting position of the tongue keeps the airways open at night So if you're if you don't have the correct tongue resting position Your jaw is not stabilized and that is a big part of dysfunction So you might have weakness of the tongue muscles because of years of poor posture and we'll get to the right tongue resting position in this webinar here too But this is just the main point to understand that your tongue might be very weak because it hasn't been resting where it's supposed to be And yes,
You might be very conscious of where your tongue is right now and don't worry.
We'll get to all of that but just This point so just take your time and just let me know what you think about this So the solution to that of course is strengthening the tongue muscles and learning the correct tongue resting position And then learning how to automate it via the subconscious mind so you don't need to constantly think gosh,
Where's my tongue?
Where's my tongue but you learn where to put it and therefore reap the health benefits I've used dental splints to prevent my teeth from moving and from damaging my teeth This was mostly caused by an incorrect tongue resting position that was pushing against my teeth when I was swallowing because when we swallow We swallow with a force of two kilograms,
Which is a very very strong force.
So That was not very good for my teeth and then the grinding Stress related and such was not very helpful either.
So I used dental splints,
Which were very good for my teeth Stress related and such was not very helpful either.
So I used dental splints which were a pain to use to put in my mouth and to remember where I put them and So we'll get to why Kiva find is a great alternative to that But just so you know,
I've been there.
I've been there too I've had TMJ pain which Has been caused by a stress Lifestyle which has been very tensed up sometimes Suppressing emotions,
You know,
We all go through life and I've also had my fair few struggles which have resulted in jaw problems of different natures So since learning the correct tongue resting position I've been able to rebalance the system of my mouth jaw and face which has Helped me a lot to say the least I've been able to train my mind and consciousness which Is also a key component here just reducing stress And I've balanced my fifth chakra If you're not very familiar with these chakra terms,
I wouldn't worry but it's It's very much related to the jaw as well here and self-expression Since having achieved all of this or at least getting better at it I have no more jaw problems or at least when they you know,
If something were to surface such as a tight hinge here the TMJ hinge I know how to deal with it.
So that's very very helpful and i'm very very thankful for it I don't need any more dental splints because I was able to cure my grinding habit with the keifer point method And I feel a lot more confident and happy for you know Self-determined for taking self-determined action to tackle my problems And I just feel much lighter going through life,
Which is amazing So you might be wondering what are some more advantages of the correct tongue resting position it activates the vagus nerve which is stress relief Which is part of the parasympathetic nervous system,
Of course The parasympathetic nervous system is what's responsible for rest and digest So it controls the functions of our body when we are resting Which relaxes our muscles and our heart rate is decreased whereas the sympathetic nervous system Is there to react to a threat or an injury and the muscles contract and the heart rate increases?
So when you put your tongue in the right position This activates the rest and digest system,
Which is very desirable you increase your alertness Your clarity of mind you have optimal palate and jaw health and you stimulate your lymph system So after all of this mention of the tongue position and putting your tongue where it's supposed to be where is it supposed to be?
So your entire tongue should be resting at the palate It should not be in contact with the incisor The tip of the tongue should be about a millimeter before your incisors Your jaw should be relaxed and your lips should be closed You can also if this is a little bit confusing for you right now when you flick your tongue Just before you do that motion of flicking and letting go you suck up your tongue to the palate,
Don't you?
And that is where it's resting.
It's that sucking motion of the tongue You can feel it and then the entire tongue should be up there not just the tip not the middle the entire tongue And that is what you train with the Kefir Frein method.
So let's move on to mistake number two You might be breathing through your mouth which creates tensions in the jaw as well It increases a it promotes a harmful posture snoring and breathing problems This decreases your performance because you need to increase your energy consumption and you're less able to perform So while breathing through your mouth you are also more susceptible to infection and tooth decay So oral breathing also leads to an incorrect resting position of the tongue and thus tension in the jaw because the tongue can no longer stay in the jaw Just just think about it if you're breathing through your mouth.
It's very hard to put your tongue It's much harder to put your tongue at the palate and also because the lips don't have the the pressure that they need This promotes tooth and jaw misalignments So after you've been listening to me for a little while here Let's move on to an exercise This will help with getting away from the mouth breathing and breathing through your nose,
Which is a natural way that you should be breathing So first read the instructions for you and then we will go through it together So first you'll close your right nostril you can pick any finger and then slowly breathe in to the left one Then you will close your left nostril And slowly exhale through the right nostril Then you will close your left nostril and slowly exhale through the right one Then you'll breathe in through the right nostril then you will close the right nostril and exhale through the left Then you will breathe in through the left nostril.
All right,
So let's start Great fantastic,
So how are you feeling after doing that?
Do you feel a slight sense of calm?
Or at least calmer than you felt before doing it hopefully So mistake number three we're working our way through this Is pressure and stress so take a moment and just rate your level of stress And rate your level of stress right now from 0 to 10 With 0 being no stress and 10 being the most possible stress you could imagine So with that awareness now that you're aware of your level of stress Let me just bring your attention to a few ways that you can utilize to reduce your stress level So the first one is learning and automating the correct tongue resting position This activates the parasympathetic nervous system and reduces stress As we mentioned before parasympathetic nervous system is rest and digest So of course stress is reduced as well Then you have conscious breathing through the nose which we have also done and this reduces stress in the body Of course taking responsibility for yourself and every area of your life you're able to act self-determined So if you're able to work on this stress if you're able to work on these jaw problems that you've been facing If you're able to do that we hope that you'll feel a lot more confident in all areas of your life And you'll really feel a sense of being self-determined The Kiever Freund team has worked in jaw therapy for over 10 years And we have personal experience of what it means to suffer from jaw related problems So I have my experiences with it other members of our team have experiences of it too And this is what brought us to work on it because we know what it's like to suffer from grinding,
Clenching,
TMJ,
General jaw pain We know what it's like to be there.
We know the traps that people can fall into Seeing from our own experience,
Seeing from the clients we work with We know what works and what doesn't work and we know how not to fall for these traps So we always recommend don't just listen to people don't just trust people who have their knowledge from books But listen to those who have real life experience because they have overcome it so they can help you to overcome it as well Any questions let us know.
Thank you so much for taking the time and all the best
