Hey there,
My name is Kimisala and I'm the owner of Brave and Bodyman Counting.
I am here today to do a little meditation for you on letting go.
A lot of us are super anxious about having a sense of what's gonna happen with all this pandemic process,
How long it's gonna take,
What's gonna happen with the economy,
Our income,
Kids,
Child care,
Health,
Safety,
Resources.
We don't really know what's gonna happen.
There is no precedent for all this and it's unclear how long it's all gonna take and what's gonna happen.
So there's a lot of unknowns and unfortunately there's not much we can really do with unknown.
It's unknown.
So grasping for control around knowing is really difficult for us and it doesn't really help us to feel good.
It makes us feel pretty anxious,
Makes us feel ungrounded and uncomfortable.
So the meditation we're going to do today is about releasing and letting go of control,
Letting the unknown exist,
Being calm in the midst of unknown.
So go ahead and get comfy and I'm going to bring you into meditation.
Let's find a spot that feels comfortable but you're not gonna fall asleep.
And we're gonna start by noticing your body and your breath.
So if you need to take a second to pause this and get comfortable,
Do that.
Come back and check in with your body.
So do a body scan and notice the energy that you're bringing into this meditation today.
You might feel tense,
You might feel stressed,
You might feel restricted energetically.
There's a lot of possibilities for how you're feeling right now.
So just notice what your body feels like.
This is probably indicative of how your body is feeling most of the time these days.
So start to notice your breath and call in just a little deeper breath and a little longer exhale.
Bringing awareness to your feet or the areas of your body that are connecting with the earth.
Letting your energy relax.
You might even sort of like shake or wiggle a little bit.
Let your tension relax,
Softening.
And if you notice sounds in the background such as people singing in my house during this meditation,
Just notice it and let it move through.
There's distractions in your space.
Letting it come up,
Noticing it and then letting it go.
Deepening your exhale just a little longer than your inhale.
Breathing out any energy that's not serving you.
Breathing in calm and relaxation.
Begin to imagine yourself in a field under the warm sun with a soft breeze,
The perfect temperature.
You might be under a shady tree or you might be sitting by a lake.
Whatever feels good for you,
Going in that image,
Feeling the grass under your feet or you may be surrounded by flowers.
You might imagine yourself feeling the flowers,
The grass.
Maybe there's some dew drops.
Breathing in the crisp air,
Feeling the soft warm sun,
Hearing the birds sing,
Watching the clouds float by.
And then begin to imagine you see a dandelion flower.
And with it,
You know that you can blow off each seed if you wanted to,
One at a time.
So you pick it up off the earth,
Sending gratitude to the earth for giving you this opportunity today.
And taking the seeds,
The flower,
And you begin to lightly blow and one seed comes off and floats away.
And with it,
One little bit of control or worry goes into the air being released.
And now you know you can let go.
With each little blow,
You can release a worry or a sense of control,
A piece of that control in your body.
And as you blow into the flower,
You allow your body to release control,
Letting what is exist,
Letting the unknown be what it is,
Not having to know,
Not having to have control,
Blowing the flower with each blow,
Your body letting go just a little bit more.
You may find yourself laying in the field and your body continues to soften and release.
Feel what it feels like to have the earth hold you,
Not having to do or be anything,
Not having to know,
Letting go,
Softening in your body more and more.
And you can just explore,
It doesn't have to stay this way.
You can go back to having a sense of control as soon as this meditation is over if you'd like.
But for now,
You should explore what it feels like in your body to release,
To let go,
To not have to have control.
And if you feel like you need more support,
You can call in spirit guides or animals to hold space for you and support you in releasing and letting go.
They hold an energetic space around you that you can just yield into like you were falling into bed.
You fall into that support system and imagine even physically letting go as you release your sense of control.
Release that worry about what's going to happen,
Knowing that no matter what happens,
You can be in this energetic space in your body.
No matter what happens,
You don't have to stress or worry about it to make it better.
You can still feel good,
You can still be okay no matter what happens.
All the problem solving,
All the thinking,
While all that is happening,
You can still hold on to this space in your body no matter what.
You can imagine playing through your day or your week with this energy in your body,
Not having to grasp,
Not having to stress,
Not having to overthink,
Analyze,
Just being calm and present.
So take as long as you need to replay or play through experiences with this type of energy in your system,
Creating a memory or a future memory for how it could feel when you cope with stress.
Supported,
Calm,
Present,
Play through those experiences as many times as you need with this energy in mind and in your body.
Well I'm signing off of our meditation for now,
You can stay in the space as long as you need.
When you are ready to come out of it,
You'll just slowly bring your body back to the present and reorient to the space that you're in.
See you next time.
