50-Minute Lunar Eclipse Yoga Nidra For Peace
Welcome luminous beings. This full moon lunar eclipse Yoga Nidra is a powerful journey into deep rest, renewal, and indwelling peace. The eclipse is a rare opportunity to release what no longer serves, burn away old karmic patterns, and step into the light of who you truly are. Rest deeply, transform gently, and return to the truth of your being. Aligned with the full moonβs expansive energy, this practice also weaves in a positive Bhavana (cultivation of a feeling-tone) to awaken and embody the quality of peace within. As you surrender into stillness, you may begin to sense that peace is not something to be found outside yourself, but remembered in the depths of your being. From this place of inner light, may peace ripple into your body, your mind, your life, and beyond.

Namaste,
A warm and heartfelt welcome,
Luminous beings.
My name is Kristen Rose,
And I feel so honoured to be your companion and your guide during this most powerful phase of the lunar cycle.
Under the radiant glow of the full moon,
We are invited to rest and to turn inward.
To soften,
To listen,
And to remember the wholeness that already lives within us.
So,
Let this practice be a remembering of the deep wellspring of inner peace that resides within you always.
This Yoga Nidra practice takes you beyond body and mind,
Where deep healing and remembrance can unfold.
In this liminal space between wakefulness and sleep,
We are gently guided back to our wholeness.
And so,
As you lie down and find a comfortable position to rest,
Surrender into stillness and feel the quiet pull of the lunar tide.
This deep and powerful energy drawing you inward,
Toward peace,
Toward presence,
Toward your truest self.
You may come to lie down on the back of the body,
Or perhaps a side-lying position with a pillow in between the knees.
Some people even prefer to rest,
To practice in a prone position on the belly.
Take your time,
There's absolutely no rush.
For this deep rest journey begins by allowing the body to completely let go,
To support the body,
To release tension and to allow the mind to become at ease within the body.
What might you do to adjust the body's position,
To completely surrender to gravity,
To become even just 1% more comfortable?
Letting the body become still,
Knowing that there is nothing that you need to do,
Nowhere to go.
Simply allow the light of your awareness,
Radiant like full moon light,
To follow the sounds of my voice,
To move throughout the inner landscape of your being,
Effortlessly.
The whole body becoming completely still,
And yet the mind remains awake and aware,
Closing down the eyes.
Take a deep and generous breath in through the nose,
Exhale through the mouth.
On the next inhale,
Take two sips of air in through the nose,
Exhale through the mouth,
On the next inhale,
Take two sips of air in through the nose,
Exhale through the mouth.
One more like this,
The breath like a wave of relaxation,
Like ocean spray,
Dissolving away any lingering tension as the natural,
Unaltered rhythm of your breath returns.
Relax the whole head and neck under gravity,
Feel the heaviness of gravity.
Relax the arms,
The whole trunk of the body becoming heavy,
And lower abdominal organs becoming so heavy,
Resting deeply into a cocoon of inner peace from any distractions in the world.
Begin to mentally trace three rings of light around the whole body,
From the crown of the head,
Down the right side,
And up the left,
Three times,
Enveloping the body in light or energy,
A frequency.
Just imagine cocooning the body in an energetic orb of light,
Presence,
And deep abiding peace.
Yoga Nidra,
Often known as yogic sleep,
Is a sacred practice of conscious rest.
Allow the whole body to rest so deeply,
As calm and as still as a tranquil lake,
Allowing the waves of thoughts to settle,
Allowing all of the senses to become wide open,
To rest deeply into the senses,
Feel the support of the earth beneath the body,
Relax into the contact points where the body meets the ground,
The touch of air on the skin,
The weight of clothes or blankets,
Relax the whole boundary of the body,
The skin surface,
The darkness behind closed eyes,
Relax into the darkness from the activity of seeing,
Notice any tastes inside of the mouth,
Relax the tongue,
No need to speak,
Just be.
Notice the gentle touch of air or aromas inside of the nose and the nostrils,
Notice the ears listening to sounds and the void spaces of silence in between and behind the sounds.
Allow the ears to rest into the experience of just listening,
All of the senses coming to rest as you turn the light of your awareness inward to the mind's eye center,
The point between the brows.
Visualize a single point of light,
Like candlelight,
Ignited at the point between the brows.
Your internal gaze,
Compassionately witnessing,
Welcoming every fiber of your being,
Just as you are.
Returning home to the abiding peace,
Your true nature,
That's already here.
Just remembering the peace that abides within.
Each breath,
Welcoming peace into your heart and into your life.
Each exhale,
Embodying peace from the inside out,
Welcoming peace into the mind and descending awareness and peace down and into the space of the heart.
Breathing into the space of the heart.
Cultivating a positive bhavana,
A felt sense of peace.
Ripples from your heart,
Outwards in all directions,
By the rhythm of the harpy.
Ripples of peace or shanti,
Cascade outwards into every cell.
You may mentally repeat the mantra,
Shanti.
Calling it in as a sankalpa,
A heartfelt intention.
Furthermore,
A positive bhavana,
An embodied experience of peace.
Mentally repeat shanti,
Or peace,
And let it be carried outwards from your heart to the boundary of the body,
Grounded in peace.
We will now begin a rotation of conscious awareness,
To consciously instill peace,
Shanti,
Throughout the whole body.
You may mentally repeat the mantra as you bring your awareness to each region of the body.
Welcoming your awareness now to sensations that are present inside of the mouth.
Sensing and feeling the muscle of the tongue resting at peace.
The tip of the tongue.
Root of the tongue.
Inside of the right cheek.
Inside of the left cheek.
The whole lower jaw.
Upper jaw.
The lower lip.
Upper lip.
Both lips together.
Tip of the nose.
The flow of breath in the right nostril.
The left nostril.
Bridge of the nose.
Point between the brows.
At peace.
The right brow.
The right cheekbone.
The left brow.
Cheekbone.
Both eyes.
As radiant orbs.
Deeply resting.
At peace.
A wave of peaceful relaxation.
Cascades across the forehead.
To the top of the head.
Back of the head.
Both ears.
Softening into the outer folds of the ears.
Deep abiding peace.
Comes to the center point between the ears.
Deep inner peace descends down.
To the pit of the throat.
Imagine a little full moon.
Gently floating.
Held in the hollow at the base of the throat.
Spreading light and peace.
Throughout your being.
To the center of the chest.
The heart center.
The echo of shanti.
Ripples throughout the whole upper chest.
Across the collar bones.
Into both shoulders.
Down the upper arms.
Palms and backs of the hands resting.
All ten fingers.
From the base of the fingers to the tips of the fingers.
All ten fingers.
At peace.
Feel the volume of the fingers.
Deeply resting.
From the heart center down to the navel center.
Notice the soft flow of breath at the navel center.
Peaceful waves of breath and prana or life force energy.
Rippling throughout the whole body.
As peace descends down.
Spreading throughout the whole pelvic bowl.
The whole upper legs.
Both knees.
Soles of the feet.
All ten toes.
Peaceful relaxation.
Comes to rest in all ten toes.
Both legs.
The volume of both legs.
The whole torso.
Both arms.
From the inside out.
Every muscle.
Every tissue.
Every bone.
Every fiber.
Filled with deep abiding peace.
The whole body.
Made up of trillions of tiny little cells.
Bathed in peace.
Resting under the luminous light.
Turning the light of this internal gaze now.
To the natural rhythm of the breath.
Waves of the breath rolling in.
And effortlessly rolling back out.
Quietly observing the natural rhythm of the breath in the body.
As the body breathes,
Bring awareness back to the crown of the head.
And welcome the breath to flow in through the crown of the head.
Energetically.
And exhale down and out.
Through the soles of the feet.
Just imagine every inhale welcomed in through the crown of the head.
Every exhale released down and out through the feet.
Energy flows by way of Upana.
The downward grounding movement of energy in the body.
Breath flowing in.
Breath flowing out.
Down and through.
The whole body.
And now,
Welcoming all of your awareness to consciously instill a felt sense of warmth throughout the whole body.
The whole body becoming warm.
From the inside out.
Notice what warmth feels like in the body.
Like the warmth of the sun.
Into every cell.
And now,
Consciously invite in.
A felt sense of coolness throughout the whole body.
Cascading down and through.
The whole cool essence.
Ripples throughout every cell.
The whole body becoming cool.
And now,
Welcoming both opposing sensations at the same time.
Coolness simultaneously.
Give yourself time to welcome in both experiences of warmth and coolness.
Here and now.
And now,
Welcoming awareness to rest at the point between the brows.
Relax into the darkness behind closed eyes.
Magnetically drawn into the dark void of inner space behind closed eyes.
Infinite space.
Like the open night sky.
And as you look up into this vast inner sky.
The full moon emerges.
In all of her glory.
Radiant in her luminosity.
Her light shines outwards in every direction.
Humble yet expansive.
Shining in her true nature.
A luminous being.
Taking up space.
Completely free.
Welcome this light to shine from within you.
Embrace your inner light.
That inner luminosity.
Your authenticity.
Let it shine outward from the space of your heart.
Your true nature.
That indwelling peace.
Shanti.
Shines from within.
Resting as the light of who you really are.
The embodiment of peace.
Deeply resting now.
As you remember your inner light.
Resting in the awareness of it.
Awareness itself.
The mantra shanti.
Or peace to echo.
From the deep chambers of your heart.
You might mentally repeat this now.
As your sankalpa.
Your intention.
This remembering.
Slowly now.
Start to bring awareness back to the breath.
And back down and into the physical body.
Notice that you have a physical body.
In which your indwelling spirit.
The light within dwells.
And you start to welcome in a sense of the earth.
Beneath the body.
Boom.
All around you.
Welcoming sounds.
And when you feel ready to release.
The cocoon of light.
Release the three rings of light.
From the crown of the head down the left side body.
And up the right side.
Letting it go.
And yet the deep peace remains.
As you return back to a wakeful state of awareness.
Newly transformed.
In this remembering.
Take a deep breath in.
And a deeper breath out.
Take a few moments.
To notice how you feel.
You might notice a sense of gratitude.
Perhaps for this practice.
Or to yourself for being here today.
To the ancient traditions we have borrowed these practices from.
And to all of our teachers.
Who have shared them with us over time.
Thank you.
Thank you.
When you feel ready.
Start to bring little movements into the body.
Wiggling the fingers and toes.
Or finding a long stretch.
Reaching the arms up overhead.
Bend the knees.
Roll over onto the side of the body.
And rest here for some time.
To reflect.
To integrate.
To remember.
For this embodiment of peace.
Has a ripple effect.
And is carried outward and into the world.
As you step back out and into it.
Thank you so much for choosing to practice with me today.
Again,
My name is Kristen Rose.
I am so honored to be your companion here.
I am so honored to be your guide.
I wish you a beautiful and blessed rest of your day.
And a happy full moon rising.
Namaste.
